This place is the product of hipsters overhype. I’ve heard over and over how great this place was. The food is average and the service is okay. The prices are high and restaurant is small and overcrowded. OVERRATED!

It’s definitely worth the wait. The food and service is some of the best you will find in Boise. Try the breakfast burrito and the frittata(it’s super rich in flavor so you have been warned). Expect a 30 – 60 min wait, but they will take your cell and call you when your table is ready so just go have a coffee or mimosa at their«café» around the corner.

Best American breakfast in Boise! We tried other places while visiting Boise, and this place was the BEST by far. My husband says they serve the best coffee he has ever had. Amazing service! Highly recommended.

Stuffed french toast is a basically as it sounds. Amazing! Great service and atmosphere for a breakfast — business or otherwise.

One of my favorite breakfast placed in the country. Great food, friendly staff and good coffee. I had over easy eggs with sweet potato hash they were delightful. Just be prepared to wait on weekends, as it is so popular

One of the best places in Boise for Eggs Benedict. I’m an eggs bennie fan and I always try to order it whenever I go to breakfast at a new place and I always order this when I go to Goldy’s for breakfast. Because it’s so popular, there’s usually a line out the door and a wait list. Try going on off hours(like 8:30 on week days) or call in an order for pick up.

Cute little breakfast place, but with too much hype over fairly average breakfast food. I’ve been twice, and will likely go again as it’s a great option when you want a standard, comforting brunch with nothing that smacks of overly done farm-to-table feel. Highs: –The A La Carte menu is the way to go. After being disappointed by a classic Eggs Benny, I ordered a hash, egg over easy, and toast, and really enjoyed it. It’s a great option for friends with dietary needs, because while it’s not standard«health» food, it’s customizable to a wide range of needs. –It has the perfect breakfast spot«buzz,» and the animated atmosphere makes you happy to spend a Saturday morning there. Lows: — The place is always packed, and usually around 45 – 75 minute wait. Not a great place to stop in casually for breakfast. — It is a little expensive for the type of food offered. — The coffee isn’t great, but they are generous with refills.

There’s a reason why Goldy’s is on of Boise’s tippy-top breakfast hot-spots. The food is amazing, the service is wonderful and friendly, and you can either go healthy or splurge and get a mega-meal! I’m impressed every time I go, and recommend stopping in if you’ve got some time to spare(make sure you plan in case there’s a wait!). It will be so worth it! Food: The great part about Goldy’s is the menu – and how it’s completely customizeable. I’m often a clean/picky eater, ordering mostly a la carte, and Goldy’s is set up to accommodate any diet or meal plan. Their scrambles and omelettes are amazing. You can choose from SOMANY things to add in. I recommend asparagus, as it’s always super fresh. Their hashbrowns are out of this world. They’re one of the only places I know that offers a sweet potato hashbrown(in addition to several other kinds, one that includes beets!), and I think the way they prepare them is nothing short of perfection. No matter what you order at Goldy’s, it will be done just as you ask for it. Drinks: Coffee & espresso from Dawson Taylor. They refill the coffee faster than your water… which is A-OK with me! Atmosphere: Talk about a small space that can accommodate a lot of people! Goldy’s knows how to pack ‘em in. It’s a loud, always packed, busy joint. Don’t go for a solo study session. But do take a breakfast date, a colleague, or a small group. It’s the most happening breakfast joint around and for good reason. If you’re looking to get in and out, this will not be your spot. But if you’ve got a minute to wait for a table(and expect a short wait for food, as they’re always busy), you’ll find that every minute was worth waiting for! Service: Quick and on par. If you’re specific about what you want(like egg whites, no oil, etc), make sure you let them know! They’ll accommodate almost any request, but you have to ASK for it! Happy Hour Offerings: n/a though they do have daily special. Healthy Hack: The scrambles can be made super healthy. I get the 2-egg(white) scramble with asparagus and mushroom. Low-cal, high protein, and perfectly healthy! Thanks, Goldy’s, for offering healthy and yummy food for us clean eaters! Tips: Expect a wait. If you arrive and don’t have one, even better for you!

Hands down– favorite breakfast place in Boise. Well with the daily wait to get in! You can’t go wrong with a single item on the menu, and no matter where you’re seated, the quaint atmosphere adds to the experience. Goldy’s is a Boise treasure for sure!

I loved this breakfast. I had an omelette, it was delicious and plenty of food to take some for lunch/2nd breakfast. I was traveling alone and sat at the bar. I had a pleasant conversation with another single diner and the wait staff. The coffee was really good and service great. My only criticism would be the price. $ 17 after tax and tip. Evenstill my critism was negated by the amount of food i got and took with me in a doggy box. Thanks Goldies, lll be back.

Best breakfast in Boise for sure and probably best in Southern Idaho. They have flavored creamer for the best coffee, excellent portions, numerous options of types of potatoes, and the thickest bacon you’ll find. Stop in this little joint to experience a delicious breakfast and fun ambiance.

Delicious and a great find in Boise. Open early, and obviously popular, there’s a second level balcony for more seating. Portions are large and the menu is broad enough to offer a dish that you’ll want. Coffee decent, if not up to coffee house standards. Not everyone likes the strong brew, so it won’t be an issue for most. I would have liked to get real maple syrup instead of pancake syrup.

On our last morning in Boise(sniffle.what a great city), it was suggested we might enjoy breakfast at Goldy’s. We stopped in to find an hour wait(I hear this is common) but they will happily call your cell when your table is up, so we put our name down and headed off to explore the outdoor market. They also suggest their coffee house around the corner to enjoy while you wait. Small thing to note, but I love that there was a curtain around the entrance so that people did not lurk there, creating an uncomfortable eating experience for the diners. Once we sat down, we were immediately greeted by a couple of servers, and they were so incredibly friendly. The coffee was fine, but the real star was the food. I appreciated that our server suggested a half waffle(not listed as an option on the menu) for our little one, which proved to be much more affordable and plenty of food. My husband ordered a breakfast that included eggs, bacon, hash browns, and a blueberry pancake(holy blueberries). I ordered a chipotle omelette, which I’m guessing may have been a special because it was listed in the centerfold insert versus on the regular menu. That omelette… mouth watering delicious! Firstly, it was huge, but the quantity did NOT overshadow the quality here. It was loaded with smoked pork, a chipotle sauce, black beans, and cheese. I gave it a really solid go, but was not able to finish it despite my best efforts. The restaurant itself is small, but the tables are not overly close and the service was attentive and friendly. I’m a big big fan!

I LOVETHISPLACE! Amazing price for how much food you get! I love the A La Carte style and the diversity of the breakfast foods they offer. My boyfriend has consistently ordered the Eggs Blackstone(Benedict with a tomato) and he loves it. I have ordered the Biscuits & Gravy and the first time was the best I’ve had(outside of my Dad’s homemade). The second time it was a little bit too salty– so be warned that sometimes there is variation. Still a great meal though! Sides: I love the hash browns, they are always perfectly crispy and served in large portions. My boyfriend has had peeps and corned beef hash– both of which he loved. WARNING: you may end up waiting an hour for a table. My family of 4 went in at 8:30AM and had no wait on Sunday, but I am guessing any later than that and the wait exponentially increases. Overall I love it and I would definitely return!

Perhaps I’m missing something? Been here a couple times and the food is always good, and the service is hit or miss because it’s usually slammed. Elbow room is limited because of how small the place is. People always rave about this spot and I do have to say it does its job of delivering a tasty breakfast, but not something I’m missing from not going to any other breakfast spot. Overall, tasty food but nothing you can’t get from your typical breakfast spot.

Well after all the hype I did it, I finally had my FIRST Goldy’s experience! Oh I’m sorry did you have to wait for a table? I didn’t, I came in and sat right down. Don’t worry I had my fair waiting time AFTER I got sat down. You ever heard the expression«good things come to those who wait» yeah that’s this place lol This small bistro earned a solid 3.5 stars for my visit, while Goldy’s falls short of being the«Best Breakfast» in Boise it is nothing to be ashamed of. Décor– The place is very drab looking with dark lighting it could use some brighter colors to liven it up a bit. Food– A bit on the spendy side for breakfast $ 14 for an omelette meal. When I pay this much I expect near flawless food and that is what I got, I enjoyed a ham/swiss omelette, maple sausage, pancake, and browns. Everything came out HOT except the hashbrowns which were luke warm, they also were unfortunately dry due to being so finely shredded and overcooked. Service– Goldy’s biggest issue by far is keeping top notch service with all the people in there. We spent a considerable amount of time sitting before getting our order taken, it again was a fair 20 mins to get the food. Our experience seemed to lack frequent visits from our server even just to see if we needed anything. Should you try it? Sure, just be sure to have patience and set aside a few hours for the whole experience.

Every time I go to Goldy’s, I receive exceptional customer service and even better food!.. A few things I would like to re-establish prior to writing this review are: 1. I am an extreme creature of habit, if I find something I like, I will eat it over and over without trying another menu item 2. I don’t like wasting money, I look for the best bang for my buck… conclusion: I am cheap. 3. I forgot point number 3 So, my go to menu item at Goldy’s is: 2 eggs, bacon/sausage, potatoes and toast(all made to order, however which way you would like them prepared) for $ 12.95. Now they are very VERY generous with their portions so I tend to nix the potato option… So, I order two eggs over easy, bacon(soft… like barely cooked, creeps most people out) and sourdough toast. I do not mind spending $ 13 on breakfast as long as the food is great… Which is always is at Goldy’s. They use fresh ingredients and you really get your moneys worth. Now the icing on the cake… their mimosas! They are served in a massive red wine glass… my favorite way to drink a mimosa!.. I was curious about the price after ordering, expecting to pay $ 9 or so(because when I order them at other restaurants they are $ 6 — $ 8 for a small champagne flute)… but oh no, not at Goldy’s. Their mimosas are reasonably priced at $ 6.50! It was too much for me to handle! Not only do I leave nearly uncomfortably full every time, but I don’t feel guilty about the way I started my day or wasting money. A tip: Go early! 7:30 on the weekends… otherwise be ready to wait… but it is definitely worth the wait if you aren’t an early riser. Safe to say: this is the BEST breakfast spot in Boise.

Innovative breakfast creations and traditional breakfast with modern flair is the reason why I give Goldys five stars!!! My favorite is the spicy eggs Benedict with avocado. The bacon and perfectly cooked chicken compliment the spicy hollandaise sauce. I was really impressed with their tiramisu pancakes. The pancakes tasted just like tiramisu and it came with a cream cheese like icing/sauce on the side to go with it. I had 2 pancakes leftover and I was glad that they held over pretty well. It’s a Boise breakfast must!!!

I wanted to drop the review to four or four and a half, but this place still rocks so hard. If I’m with my wife, we can’t leave until we’ve had the huge fruit platter. It’s tasty, fresh and aesthetically-pleasing. Recently, we went on a weekday and in the afternoon. This was great for avoiding the crowd. Wifey had the mushroom frittata with that heavenly tomato-cream sauce. I had the spicy chicken benny, which I acutally wouldn’t recommend. This is where I want to drop the review by a half star. The chicken and bacon were hard, like overcooked, and so was the egg. To me, runny yolk on a poached egg IS one of the main reasons for getting eggs benedict, as the yolk mingles with the hollandaise into a decadent mess. Didn’t happen on this one. I didn’t really dig the spicy hollandaise, either, as it was too thick and I just didn’t appreciate the heat like I thought I would. For my dollar, their standard hollandaise is the best I’ve ever tried anywhere, and I will return to their standard eggs benedict. As always, the corned beef hash was amazing and still is the best I’ve ever had anywhere. So one complaint: egg yolks weren’t runny. Other than that, life is good. Some of the best restaurant service we receive and that’s consistent.
