I love this place. They don’t overlook the vegan/vegetarians, as is so common in most beer-oriented places, and not just in a «uh, we have hummus…» way(though they do have hummus, and it is delicious), but they actually put the time and creative effort in to provide some great options. It’s much appreciated! The staff is always friendly and the beer selection is always great, nothing but good things to say about Bier: Thirty!

Their food is SO good and they always have such a great beer selection. We always stop by after a long day at barber park and enjoy lunch outside with our dog!

Went there for the English Proper brunch, I was truly hoping for a close to authentic full english breakfast. Unfortunately, all ingredients were American. Sweet bbq beans(probably Bush’s), candied bacon?, No blood sausage, no toast, bangers were substituted for a jimmy deans frozen sausage link. I could have sourced all of these ingredients in the processed food aisles of walmart. For anyone who has never had a full English breakfast it might look similar, but this is an Americanized overly sweetened knockoff that leaves one checking flights to the UK in search for the real thing.

Love love love Bier thirty!!! We used to live right on the corner and REALLY miss the convenience of walking there now that we have moved to Meridian. The selection is great on tap and in the bottles/cans. The employees are also always willing to give you tips and let you sample things on tap. If you haven’t tried this place, YOUSHOULD! P. S. The patio is fantastic in the warmer months!

I have been here several times and each time I leave happy. The atmosphere is vibrant. Tons of beer to choose from! There is a large cooler for import beers and another two or three coolers filled full of local and regional beers and ciders. Every time I try to pick something different and I am always surprised by all the great choices. I have tried several dishes they offer. You can get an app that will fill you up or you can share with your friends. I personally enjoy the Buffalo Dip which is mozzarella and bleu cheese dip made with spicy chicken, hot sauce and green onions, served with tortilla chips. However, if I am feeling something different I can always order the amazing pretzel, hummus plate, or artichoke goat cheese dip, YUMMMMMM. They also serve salads, sandwiches and non-alcholic drinks. The service has always been consistently happy and helpful. It looks like there are a ton of events that happen at Beir: Thirty. The last night I went was on a Tuesday and Boise Brewery was handing out stickers and pint glasses. Way fun and it was packed! Check the event calendar for some events nights! Even without an event, it is a great place to go for the meeting of minds!

Oh Bier 30, the first place I ventured to after moving to Boise and the one place I continuously go back to when I want simple ambience, good beer, and reliable food. The Bown area is a wonderful little spot free of the tryhards seen in downtown on the weekends. This means that it’s more quiet, more mature, and as a result, the businesses are that much more pleasurable to frequent. Anyways, onto Bier 30. Though they don’t do there own brewing, there is always a fantastic rotation of draft beer, and they do a great job of keeping their website up to date. I’ve been remarkably surprised to see how many great, out-of-region beers they are able to get, and their prices are remarkably fair. I’ve been here with strangers, friends, and family, and they are always able to find something that suits their taste. The food is also quite good and reliable. The sandwiches are great, the poutine is to die for, and their pretzel appetizer is the only pretzel I eat in my life. If you want break from downtown, or want to swing by after being on the greenbelt, this is definitely worth a stop in. The staff are friendly, and while you may need to stand in line to put your order in, they will bring your food out to you once ready.

We are new to the area and we’re looking for a new bar to try. They have an awesome selection of local beer that we hadn’t gotten to try. The food was very good for the price. The feel here was very casual and laid back. Will definitely be coming back!

This review actually has(mild) complaints, but I still wouldn’t drop it from five stars. In my opinion, this is the epitome of a classy, little beer joint with some creative, tasty dishes and very thoughtfully chosen tap handles. This time around, I forced myself to try something other than the Gaucho Chimichurri sandwich(best sandwich I’ve had in the state and makes it into my top 10 sandwiches ever). I tried the Bown Cheesysteak, and I guess the name should have warned me. First, they make a cheesesteak(prime rib, onions, peppers, swiss cheese instead of American) and that would have been great. Then, they pour on a generous helping of their beer cheese. I like that stuff more as something to dip my pretzel in, but it overwhelmed the sandwich. I’ve you’ve never tried the gaucho and keep going back to the cheesesteak, you’re seriously missing out. Wifey finally tried the vegan sloppy joes and found the lentils to be undercooked and the sauce to be too sweet. I concurred. For sides, we both tried soups. Their specials seem to be some of the best and often unnoticed dishes in the house. She had a vegan black bean chili that was awesome, and I tried the spicy salmon soup. It was more of a brothy soup than a chowder, but it was still hearty and not too spicy. I loved it, but it wasn’t at all fishy. There were gener

Ordered the Bahn Mhi sandwich and ate it so fast I didn’t have time for a picture. Nice and spicy and filling. Drank a Crooked Fence Porter. My food came out immediately and the cashier was friendly. I’m not a huge fan of counter service places. The porter was okay. Good lunch beer. Crooked Fence is a local Boise area brewery. I guess I just have a soft spot in my heart for Oregon beers and Idaho just can’t compete. They advertise free wifi but my phone wouldn’t connect to it. Oh well.

This place never fails to amaze me with great food and beer selection. Perfect place to cozy up on a rainy day or weekend.

Why yes. I will take a beer, oh, and great food you say? Yes. I’ll have both. In fact, the food is one of the best reasons to come. The beer selection is about a 7⁄10(it used to be fairly epic before the swapped shelves for coolers) and the on-tap selection tends to be limited– but, seriously: Order. The. Pretzel. Hot, delicious, salted, amazing. Plus the patio offers a great community feel and great supervision of the kids you sent over to Powell’s. They get their candy, we get ours. Wi-fi sucks, so you won’t get much«work» done if that’s what you’re planning.

This place is good! I had the curry wurst the first time we came and even the half order was very filling! The curry was not too overpowering, but overall tasty. Then we came back less then a week later. I had the gaucho chimmichurri which was a steak sandwich with chimmichurri and something that tasted like sauerkraut on it. Very tasty! When I return, I will be ordering that gaucho chimmichurri again! This is an order and pay at the counter, then take your card back to where you choose to sit type of place.

After I said that I’d NEVER go here again; like an idiot, I did… Overly RUDE staff. Was charged for food & drink that we never ordered! When confronting the waiter about seeing the manager, he laughed and said that we’d have to come back later. On a 100+ degree day, you’d at least expect a COLD beer… WRONG!!! It tasted like it was poured yesterday; with a distinct«skunky» flavor and warmer then«room temperature». Perhaps if they cleaned-out the taps this might be avoided, but with their lackadaisical attitude, I’m sure that it’s «beneath them». All-in-all, a VERY disappointing experience, leaving me to wonder; What in the world was I thinking, to make me return to this«Dining Nightmare»?

Horrible service. Dude and his giant beard was very rude. Seemed upset someone came to eat. Food was mediocre at best.

I like the vibe this place gives. There is no waitstaff, you order at the counter. You can pick beers from the cooler or choose one that is on tap. They have plenty to choose from and your bound to find something you like. It seems to be a low key local hangout. They also have a small brunch menu on Sunday. We came here after a long bike ride and the beer hit the spot! We also ordered the gaucho chimichurri and the bier thirty poppers. The sandwich was perfectly complimented by the cheese and chimichurri. The steak was tender and I actually thought that the combo without the steak would have made a great variation of a grilled cheese. The poppers were unlike any I have ever experienced. The cheese was creamy and fantastic but the sweet balsamic, honey, cinnamon walnut topping nailed it. With the subtle heat from the jalapeño and the sweet/savory everything else… well it was just a party in my mouth.(I actually poured the rest of the sauce into our barley pasta salad that was served with our sandwich.) I’m totally stealing this recipe for my next party! Oh and my next trip I will definitely be ordering the pretzel. I about had to ask the table next to us to let me try it with the beer cheese dipping sauce it comes with. Wish I had more room to order one for myself.(They also had a salted Carmel pretzel on the specials board!!!) Looked delish!

I think that you would have to be drinking to enjoyed the food there but for people that weren’t drinking but just looking for a good place to eat… I’m sorry to have to rate this a three. I have a macaroni and cheese and it really wasn’t anything very special Texas my husband had one of the sandwiches and it was okay it was a ribeye the best thing they have there was a salted caramel pretzel. When they came to pick up my plates, I guess I would’ve asked if the meal was alright because you could see we didn’t eat but 2 bites of the Mac n cheese. NBD but I’m sad to say it was just ok food for 30 bucks.

This has become my local spot to swing through for a brew. They always keep a great selection in stock, I recommend 21st Amendment Brewery’s Come Hell or High Watermelon. You really can’t go wrong with their Bavarian pretzel with mustard cheese sauce. Good food and a great beer selection, when the weather is sunny there is an awesome patio to sit on!

I went there on Wednesday and Thursday after work, both times the place was full. The staff is very nice and friendly, their bottled beer selection is unbelievable. Their food in general is pretty good, the only thing is their attempt to make German dishes(Curry-wurst), I think I need to cook some up and bring it by as a reference :) The pretzels are not quite authentic but that’s hard to get here in the US, but the cheese dipping sauce compensates for that.

I was visiting my family and my mother lives in the Bown Crossing neighborhood. I was excited to check out Bier Thirty because of the great Unilocal reviews and what looked like a delicious menu. The beer selection alone is worth a trip. I love beer but did not have one — instead I tasted my husband’s Pilsner and I cannot remember what one it was — nevertheless — it was great, large and only $ 4.50… In addition my husband and I both had sandwiches which were top notch. He had the Caprese and I had the Gaucho Chimichurri subbing grilled veggies for the ribeye. The horseradish havarti was what drew me in… on a warm toasty roll. Worth the flight to Boise! We tried the spicy chips and the potato salad — both good choices for sides. The apps, entrees, soups, special salmon tacos… I would have tried more if I could have… a lot of drool worthy menu items. Service was great — ambience wonderful. I highly recommend for a happy hour beer and app sometime. Perfect place to warm up in the winter or kick back for a cold one in the summer. I’ll definitely be going back when we visit again!

BOISE: I just got my world rocked by this top-rated little German fusion gastropub. Come get yours rocked as well. Ambience(4 stars): Cool, new, clean exterior with a trendy looking front and outdoor patio. Long tables, communal goodness. Parking was difficult. I think I parked in a briar patch out back. Service(5 stars): Super nice, super chill waitress who even had a sense of humor. Sense of humor earns like +4 service stars every time for me; super underrated. FOOD — tried two dishes, both were mindblowers «Cheesysteak» 5 stars: wow! Delicious, moist tender ribeye, peppers, perfect bread, beer cheese, onions, lip smacking good. Eat this Currywurst(5 stars): curried ketchup atop amazing sliced brat atop awesome house fries plus flavorful sourkraut=bliss. I couldn’t believe how complex and engaging the flavor was. Highly recommended!
