Fast friendly clean and delish bagels!!! What else could you ask for in breakfast?! Was granted by the owner when I walked I and given a Togo coffee when I left. Coffee even came with some yummy marble coffee cake! I will be back again for sure.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I ordered the eggs Benedict. They had a huge logo on the menu with guy ferra on it saying how he went there and tried all their food and such. I have to say my eggs Benedict look like big bird took a sh*t on my plate and all I tasted was vinegar. If I could give 0 out of 10 I would. I didn’t care about all the old people in there. The food super sucked and my potatoes on the side were charred it was so disgusting. I wish I could literally have a refund because I rather have gone to McDonald’s.

I have been coming here since my high school days 20 plus years ago. I am so disappointed! I just had the worst experience here. This really isnt the first time but it’s my last. I went to the take out window, I placed my order, I was second in line. I sat back in my car because it was cold right there(I parked on the curbside) The lady that took my order kept looking at me but I didn’t think anything of it. There was people in line after me that we’re getting their food. So I walk up to the window and said these people were after me… Where is my sandwich which she said I never took your order. I refreshed her memory by saying I asked for the 4.99 $ sandwich remember– oh yea, ok that’s 5.29. I said mam I’ve been waiting awhile I don’t think I should have to pay as she pushes the money back to me and closes the window in my face. She puts the order into the computer and at this point the manager comes over and says this is our normal wait time it’s 5.29 Reluctantly I pay it but she walked away ignoring me. She hands me the bag and I say is my bacon crispy like I asked? The waitress says I put it in there. I check it and it’s so fatty and greasy. I take it out of the bagel and flop it in front of her and say is this crispy? Where she takes away the bag from me and gives me my money back. I dropped her change in the window I will never be back there again! They have never been the same for many years. I have tried to make my family and husband like that place again for years. They still don’t like. Food is undercooked and the attitude sucks!

Got bagels here again a little over a week ago. Carryout. Love that on the side of the restaurant, they have two carryout windows… walk-up. You can park your car in a spot about 25 feet away or if you’re a non-conformist, you can park along the sidewalk about 5 feet away. There used to be a huge menu board(six feet wide) next to the carryout windows, but it was gone this time. $ 10.99 for a dozen bagels. The owner asked me via Unilocal last time what it would take for me to rate it 5 stars. I would say better bagels and cheaper. I don’t expect them to do that, but answering the question.

How can you not love Flakowitz? It’s a great breakfast or lunch deli type dinner. It’s exactly what you expect. I love their baked salmon salad on a toasted everything bagel(scooped of course) with tomato. Call ahead and you can go to the outside window and pick it up. Doesn’t get much better than that. Bagels are fresh, salads delic, meats are deli good. Good breakfasts and sandwiches. Good old school up north style dinner. Don’t love it? Fagetaboutit! :)

Great bagels, great marble cake, NY style deli. Building definitely needs pressure washing & cleaning up all around.

I have loved coming here … There is nothing that sucks on this menu. :3 My go to favorite is the everything bagel with cream cheese and scallions. Grits. Scrambled eggs with cheese and onions. With a Coke.

Stopped in to Flakowitz at 2:45 and asked if they were still open? they said yes and seated us. Now the waitress comes over and states: We are closing in 5 minutes you have to order right away. I am thinking if you are closing then why did you seat us in the first place? I order and my buddy just asks for water. They bring my drink a can of diet coke which I am happy about as I don’t like fountain drinks. The can of diet coke had expired in April of this year which tells me they had it in storage for 12 – 14 months. Yes it tasted like moth balls. Now the food comes and the waitress literally says to me if you want your food? you have to pay right now as I want to close out my checks. I actually don’t know if the food at this place is any good or not as the people who work there kind of suck and I will never go back. Then the owner makes a big show yes the same asshat sitting in the middle of the dining room counting out all of the cash(real classy) he starts yelling across the tables to myself. I would recommend not going anywhere near this place as the problems all start at the top and trickle down.

This place sucks… I have been coming to Flakowitz for 12 years and would go every Saturday morning. The food and service was great way back. I heard they got a new owner and I had stopped going, but I went back today to try it out and the service, food, pricing and waiter was horrible … Will never come back.

Service with an «attitude»(bad) both at the deli/bakery and table. We were ignored for over 20 minutes with a ticket in our hands and after the clerk told us he knew our number was called! Horrible experience. My friend ended up in the hospital from either the salmon salad or rice pudding she bought to go and ate later. $ 12 for a bagel with not even enough nova to cover one. unless you wanted to pay $ 24. The star…big thumbs down

Places like this exist to cater to the significant presence of NY people in Palm Beach County. However, considering how NY is changing, finding a place this good and authentic in NY these days is pretty hard.

Wish I could give it zero stars. This place is a health hazard. I’ve lived in Boca my whole life, which actually pains me to write this because the food is fine. Not great. Not bad. But good NY Deli food and a great takeout window. But I am absolutely appalled at how gross the bug problem is. I will never be back and it makes me want to vomit thinking about how many times I’ve just ordered from the takeout window and eaten it. I ate inside at Flakowitz about 2 months ago and as I was sitting there I saw a HUGE roach start crawling across the ceiling. I almost puked. The waitress had to knock it off of the ceiling with a broom and then step on it. Shockingly no one left. I hadn’t been back since. Until yesterday… And yesterday, all I could think about is «am I going to see another roach». I thought no way. I was WRONG! As soon as I walked in, I looked under a bar stool and BAM… right there… a roach staring right back at me. I literally grabbed my daughter and ran out. In conclusion… the food is fine. But who the hell is fine with eating somewhere that is infested with ROACHES??? It’s disgusting! Lifelong Boca resident. Live 2 min away. Will NEVER go back! GROSS!!!

Been coming here 8 years. New owners started about six months ago and they are taking it down. Food is still good. Breakfast is solid and great bagels Service is the worst. Don’t be in a hurry. There is a service dead zone in the middle of the seating area so demand not to sit there unless necessary. Understaffed with a harried workforce constantly apologizing. Took an hour and 15 min for 2 eggs and a bagel. Be aware that they charge almost two dollars more if you want cinnamon on your French toast

I was hesistant to try Flakowitz for awhile because many reviews are less than stellar. However, one weekend we wanted something new to us that was close by and this fit the bill. The place is larger inside than I expected, and on a Saturday before 10am, we had our pick of tables. They have good deals before 10, so if you are up a bit early, the deals are worth it. I got the eggs, home fries, and bagel special which was just under 5 bucks. I could barely eat half it was so much food! Bagels are good, the onion was flavorful and light on the crunchy bits on the top. I really enjoyed their soft, airy cream cheese. Eggs and home fries were well cooked and seasoned. Their cooked food reminded me of some of the traditional old diners we used to visit in Pennsylvania, which is a good thing. Service was good. They bring a marble cake out while you wait and it tastes like a chocolate chip muffin in cake form to me. My husband disney favoured it. A good breakfast in Boca but not my favorite bagels ever — but still good.

Since new ownership has taken over I decided to give this place another shot. They have a takeout window and I decided to see how it was. We got bagels with a side of scallion cream cheese and nova and a side of the homemade corned beef hash. All of it was very tasty and we would be willing to try the sit down again as well and have better hopes for this place.

Where do I start with Flakowitz? I am not a local. My grandparents lived in Boca. Before they became full time residents, we used to vacation at their snow-bird home in the summer. Enter: Flakowitz. A place which I thought was awesome in childhood, because they gave me cake for breakfast. CAKE. FORBREAKFAST. Fast forward about 20 years… my dad has been coming down to Boca a lot more often than me, and still has a soft spot for Flakowitz in his heart. The man has a thing for greasy spoons, and usually I agree with him. I was surprised at how busy the restaurant was on a Monday morning, and then I remembered, we were right between Christmas and New Years, so all the grandkids and families were in for winter break. Because of the crowd, our group of 7 was a bit crowded, and service was a bit flighty. When mom has to get up and ask the hostess for more coffee, things aren’t going the way they should be. The food was okay — to be honest, my favorite part of the meal was once again, CAKE. FORBREAKFAST. And also the bagel. My breakfast special came with a bagel. If the lox plate hadn’t been so expensive(almost $ 20 for a nova or lox plate!) I would’ve gone for it. Holy cow that’s expensive. The most I’ve seen a lox or nova plate go for in Chicago is MAYBE $ 12. Maybe. I could understand if it is for 2 — but the menu does not specify this. I digress. The onion bagel, toasted dark, with cream cheese was divine. I don’t know that I can say when the next time I will be in Boca will be, but I do know if I go back, it will be with my dad. And knowing my dad, we’ll go to Flakowitz. And maybe I’ll splurge on that nearly $ 20 lox plate.

Flakowitz is another one of those childhood haunts for me. I remember going there at least once on every winter or spring break to visit my grandparents. Even though it was maybe 5 minutes from their house, let me tell ya, it was a BIGDEAL. I mean, you get cake as an appetizer! My dad still has a soft spot for Flakowitz, so we all packed in there as a family the other day. It was definitely crowded, and I had some childhood memories replayed when I saw grandparents coming in with their grandchildren for breakfast. Because it was so packed, the service was a little slow and my parents both had empty coffee cups at various points during the meal. However, when we did see our server, she was a riot. She’s the kind who treats everyone like a regular, which I love. The marble cake was everything I remembered. I kind of wish I had a piece now. My breakfast selection left something to be desired. I had the challah French toast, and it was, for lack of better words, squishy. I don’t think the challah held up in the egg dip. Maybe they let it sit in the liquid too long, or didn’t cook it long enough… I don’t know. It’s not something I would recommend or try again. As I recall, Flakowitz has delicious homemade oatmeal. I’ll pretend I had that. I did have a sesame bagel with cream cheese left over later that day, and it didn’t disappoint.

Bagels and whitefish and lox, oh my! Corned beef hash and matzo brie! My family visits Boca a few times a year. The trip isn’t complete without a stop here! They’ve got all of my favorite Jew food staples. And they bring free marble cake to the table! Everything I’ve ever eaten here was great! My father almost licked his plate!

Love Flakowitz! Get breakfast there about once every week or so. Food is always on point but one girl that works the to go counter always has a terrible attitude. She has dark hair and tattoo on her arm. Avoid if possible! She had a stank face like someone broke wind directly in front of her. And because my girlfriend and I work in the food and beverage industry, we pride ourselves on having a great attitude for our customers. Five star food with two star attitude. If I didn’t come as often as I do, idk if I would come back just because of that.
