I’ve came here twice and love the food. Living in Bloomfield, it’s hard to find a place that has good Filipino cuisine. The Lumpia Shanghai is delicious as is the chicken BBQ and fresh Lumpia and ube ice cream. It reminds me a little bit of my family’s cooking. I would come here all the time if I could!

Great food with a very nice staff. They have a good selection and be sure to try a desert. Could use a little more atmosphere. 4 stars

We came the day after Christmas, so the place was EMPTY. But I don’t care. The food is a.m.a.z.i.n.g! We had the molo soup, lumpian(sp?), and the thai pork. Everything was phenomenal. The molo was perfect comfort food — flavorful, fulfilling, delicious. The lumpian were crispy and tender, with a fabulous dipping sauce. And then their was the Thai pork. It was grilled and had a wonderful smokiness to it. The sauce that came with it was spicy, smoky — it made me want to douse everything in sauce. Definitely worth another trip :-) Yum! The place is bright, open, and the staff is very friendly, attentive and welcoming. I recommend you try it, if only once in your life

Came with a group for the Filipino food, especially the lumpia which was on point. I also got the tom yan soup and the halo halo ube ice cream for dessert. The ube sounded amazing in theory, but tasted a bit bland. Maybe it just didn’t cater to my palate? Overall, I liked the food but expect some unexpected flavors.

Stopped by mid afternoon for a late lunch. The food was great! We had the lumpia shanghai for an app and kare-kare(oxtail stew) and mami noodle soup for the meal. Everything was delicious. The flavor of the lumpia and the banana ketchup was spot on. The mami tasted so, so good on a cold, dreary day. And for the kare-kare, the oxtail meat was tender and the vegetables very fresh. Some of the best we’ve had here in the US. My only complaint would be that they brought the soup out first when I had clearly ordered it as a meal. However, there was so much soup I was still eating(and the soup was still warm) by the time the kare-kare came out. We will definitely be back.

Great food, friendly service with an intimate atmosphere. On recommendation from a friend, and down the block from my apartment, a small group of us decided on this place. We tried several dishes from the lumpia to milkfish even the dinuguan and ended with a different but delicious halo halo for dessert. It was all cooked to perfection and flavorful, absolutely a great choice of restaurant serving some great Filipino favorites. For those not as adventurous they also offered some Thai selections. We even stayed past their closing time but didn’t feel pressured to leave. We will definitely be back!

I was craving for«kare-kare» and since our nearest Pinoy restaurant has run out of it, and Maharlika is too far of a drive, we came here. This place is always clean and the décor is pleasant enough. They serve my favorite grilled eggplant with lime and fish sauce dressing, so I always order that. You won’t see this in any other Filipino restaurant. It pairs so well with their«Fried Boneless Bangus”(Milkfish). I also think, they serve one of the best«halo-halo». When I didn’t see«kare-kare» on the menu and asked the lady about it, she replied by picking up the menu specials on our table(which I didn’t notice) and turned it to face me with an irritated RBF. This woman usually do not wait tables; she usually just mans the cashier and it was clear that she really isn’t train to. Kind of a damper on good Filipino restaurant around this area. I still will recommend this place to non-Filipinos because I know they will be treated better.

OMGGGG! Spectacular feel-at-home Filipino food!!! I love this place for comfort food. It’s an Asian Fusion, Filipino, and Thai spot. I’m from Jersey City and this corner spot in Bloomfield is so much better than any other Filipino spot in jersey city. My family and I ordered Kare-Kare, Fried Bangus, Fresh Lumpia, Lumpia Shanghai, Pancit, Kangkong with bagoong and were all delicious– comes with garlic rice. The owner of the place suggested us to try their Sisig but we were too full and wanted to save room for their HALO-HALO!!! Which is definitely a MUST at this place! This is our Filipino spot from here on out :) totally bringing all my friends here. They have boodle fights on Thursday nights which I have to try. The price and ambience is great. Thanks for an awesome experience and can’t wait to try more of the dishes. Love it!

This place has a decent selection of Asian cuisine with most dishes focused on Filipino food. We ordered the Chicken and Pork Adobo(chicken and pork cooked with soy sauce and vinegar. The shredded meat was an interesting touch for adobo), the Beef Tapa(dried marinated beef pieces served with white vinegar — delicious) and the Sisig(chopped pork and pepper topped with an egg and served on a sizzling plate — yummmm). We also started with the Lumpia Shanghai(fried spring rolls)(8 pieces) and the Siomai(steamed dumplings)(5 pieces) as appetizers. All, except the appetizers, came with a side of rice and small side of vegetables. The food was delicious and met my expectations, however, the place is a bit pricey and the service was a bit slow. We came on a Thursday and saw a bunch of people ordering Kamayan dinners which are family style dinners served on banana leafs. I believe they do this every Thursday. This may be the reason for slower service. This is one of the few dine-in Filipino restaurants in the area. So if you aren’t looking to do turo-turo(point-point cafteria style), then this definitely worth a shot to satisfy your Filipino food craving. I will be returning for Kamayan Thursdays. Don’t forget to check the menu on the table. There are a few more choices that aren’t listed on the regular menu! Don’t forget BYOB!

Came here for restaurant week with my boyfriend. I’ve never been a big fan of Thai or Filipino food but decided to give it a try. Upon arrival we were seated immediately. The place wasn’t packed but had about 4 tables filled. It’s a small place so I’m guessing there were about 10 maybe 12 tables. We noticed the prices on the restaurant week menu were items that would have normally amounted to the $ 25 restaurant week price. I ended up ordering from the regular menu which was about a $ 15 value and since I don’t drink soda or eat ice cream(which was the only dessert option they had) I ended up spending $ 10 less. My appetizer was Tom yam soup. They should have asked if I wanted shrimp or chicken instead of assuming I wanted shrimp. Verdict… I was a huge fan. I’m pretty sure I would have liked the chicken more. My boyfriend ordered crispy thai beef. I thought it was deep fried intertwined frog legs at first lol! Our entrees came out. I ordered the Chicken adobo flakes. I probably should have asked what the«flakes» were. I’m used to how my friend makes them with full pieces of chicken in a soupy adobo sauce. The ones from the restaurant were shredded and fried. It was good but I would be lying if I said it was great. The waiter recommended my friend get the staple cuisine, sisig. It was made with pork belly. If anyone is familiar with chicharron that is exactly what it looked like. A plate of fried pork belly diced with pieces of onion and a raw egg in the middle which you stir while everything is hot. He basically ate a plate of fat which he totally did not expect lol. We had a few bites and ended up taking everything to go. We gave it to my teenage son when we got home and he liked both dishes. As for service, no asian spot I’ve ever been to is quick. So don’t expect waiters flying throughout the place. But the guy we had was nice so I have no complaints about him. As far as dining there again I will have to give it a pass. It’s not a taste or type of cuisine I prefer. But for those that like that flavor I’m sure you will be a fan.

Overpriced for dinner and makes me miss Mama Fina’s in Bergen County! Have not tried their lunch combos but dinner prices are way over what is typically charged for basic filippino cuisine. $ 19 for a plate of pork belly sisig? We had the pusit sisig and it was very mediocre, bordering on being overly vinegar-y than anything. I got bored of eating it after two bites. I ordered a noodle dish that was just odd — said it came with shrimp and hard boiled eggs — and indeed it did, but the shrimp was cut into thin halves and presented in a circle on the plate, making it seem like you were getting more shrimp th an you actually were. Similarly, the egg slices added up to about half an egg. The bok choy was chopped and diced to tiny pieces which added up to less than half a handful, so really I was paying for a rice noodle dish that had rice noodles and… relatively little else. It wasn’t necessarily a bad experience, food-wise. Just very weird and mediocre. For this type, portion and quality of food I feel like I can get better elsewhere. Service was good, but not good enough to overcome the underwhelming experience. A pass for me.

I’ve been here at least half a dozen times and every single time I walk out thinking it was«okay.» Obviously nothing compares to home cooked Filipino food, but even after setting aside that standard, this place still disappoints. The décor is on the nicer side from what I’ve seen of Filipino food, but then you get thrown off by the plastic serving dishes with cartoon taxi cabs on it. The service was always ok, but the last time I was there with my mom, it was abysmal. They took forever to give us a menu, then took forever to take our order and then, even after we tried to get their attention to refill our water, they never came to check on us or ended up refilling our water. Larger groups who, I know had made reservations so I understand if they ordered their food prior to coming, got an overwhelming amount of attention from the 3 wait staff there while it felt like my mom and I were second class citizens. And on top of that, our food didn’t even taste good. The beef tapa was over done, the sinigang tasted more like dinuguan with all that pepper, and the vegetables in the lumpia sariwa were soft instead of fresh and crispy. Since it took so long for the wait staff to come back, we lost our appetite for the halo halo and just wanted to leave. If I want to dine out for Filipino food next time, I’ll suck it up and drive to Bergenfield or Jersey city where I can get better food and better service.

I was definitely expecting this place to be better. The atmosphere was very plain. The service was good. My meal had zero flavor. We started with the Lumpiang Shanghai which are Filipino egg rolls. I’ve had much better in my day. The Molo Soup was OK. I ordered the Malabon Noodles and it was truly tasteless. I thought it was tacky the way it was presented and the sliced the shrimps in half, just weird. My boyfriend ordered the red curry salmon and that was delicious. Very spicy. Overall not impressed.

I’ve been here numerous times, only because the trek to Queens is too long. Food is ok — definitely not authentic. They throw in random vegetables in dishes the sinigang is bland. The halo halo is very good and plentiful. But then agsin, it’s crushed ice with pre-made ingredients. . Supremely over-priced. Service is horrendous

The only reason I am giving two stars is because the food tasted decent. Nothing that I haven’t had before and certainly not worth the price. The service was AWFUL. Drinks were not offered and nothing else was voluntarily given. The staff literally stood around as if they had no idea what they were doing. Maybe they didn’t?

Maybe this will be a bit of a bias review because I went into the restaurant with my family and we were the only ones there. Well, is and one other lady. So as expected there were no snaffs or tremendous waiting for service. The waitress was very polite and the whole restaurant had an ambiance of being close knit and family owned. That close knit feeling also welcomed us from the minute we walked into the door. Now, on to the review… We ordered pad cee ew, a chicken and adobo dustings, and the grilled pork belly. I notice that initially the food did take quite a while to get out but I gave them the benefit of the doubt that the longer it took the more love was put into it. I was right. My recommendation would be the pad cee ew as it was my favorite dish of the day. Second the pork belly and the chicken and adobo a tie with the pork belly. Overall: 10⁄10 I give this quaint little Asian fusion spot a top score because they covered the two most important things in the restaurant business. Food and Service. Something to add, I’ve never had Turon before but I think I found my new favorite dessert beating out Mochi ice cream. Hope you’re ready for some delicious flat noodles and chicken. Please let me know of any recommendations you guys have. I think I’ll stop by this place a little more than often now.

Ordered traditional Filipino fare… shanghai lumpia, pancit bihon and lechon. The lumpia was OK, but my daughter was happy with the pancit. I loved the lechon… such a big serving to share for 2. The leche flan was the best I have ever had!!!

Oh yummmm. Bloomfield is really rockin’ and this place is one of the reasons. I had the Chicken Gata and that was so delicious I can’t wait to get it again. Wow, it was good. The spring rolls were ok, but I’ve had better. The Ube ice cream(they call it something else here, but just ask for the purple ice cream) is something you need to try! Byob.

Trekked all the way to Jersey to celebrate one of my best friends’ birthday. Sounded a bit silly with so many choices in East Village alone — but with the quality of food and service, definitely worth the visit! The back party room was reserved entirely for us — as we entered, there was already a small buffet station with their signature dishes ready to be served. We had the fried fish, Thai noodle, spring roll, bbq chicken, pork wonton soup — all were authentic and beyond delicious! My personal favorites were the pork wonton — so meaty(almost the size of my fist!) and spring rolls(stayed so flaky and crispy + loved the flavor of the pork filling) I couldn’t help but kept going back for seconds. third. and fourth. but then I remembered we had to get dessert! We ordered the must get ! — Halo Halo with Ube ice cream + the fried Turon(with jackfruit and plaintain center). The Halo Halo was loaded with actual chunks of taro, cubes of flan, and mixed sweet beans. The ube ice cream — what more can you say?! The piping hot fried turon was fried to perfection with generous filling of jackfruit and plaintain. My girls and I were soooo full yet we wouldn’t forgive ourselves leaving such great food. Wonderful service despite the fact we were in the backroom. If only Pandan is closer to where I live, would definitely drag my fiancé to check it out! P. S. They are having Kamayan night every other Thursday for $ 35pp. Make sure to check out the menu and make reservation!
