Poor service. We, Asian couple, had to ask the staff five times to adjust the umbrella to block out the scorching sun whereas nearby table non-Asian patron only had to ask once. Speechless

Food was meh Great ambience but I think I may pass on the food I did not get a warm vibe from my server which is unfortunate as we tip generously to all our servers

We enjoyed our time at the Roof Garden — it was a beautiful place to escape the hustle of our day by sitting on the rooftop overlooking the Beverly Hills/Century City skyline. The location is great! Our server may have been having an off day — we were seated, given drink menus and then came back later. We asked him his impression of one of the drinks, which he gave and then left us again without asking for our order. This occurred throughout the night. It was a treat to go and the food was good! It is a little expensive for the quality but the atmosphere makes up for it. The next time I go, I’d like to be in the cabanas!

LOVED it here… The hotel itself is to die for. When you enter the rooftop garden everything from its food to the music was wonderful. They had great service as well. It’s a little awkward because it’s right next to the rooftop hotel pool and the hotel guests leave through the restaurant(in towels) but it’s still very upscale and classy. Can’t wait to come back and try the tea room in the lobby area next time!

Hotel is absolutely beautiful and great location. Service is not great and slow. Not at all I expect from the legendary peninsula hotel chain. Food was also so-so, in fact quite underwhelming. Their frozen lemonade(alcohol drink) is so good. They are inconsistent as we ordered two and both were different. Menu is limited and not creative. Their desserts were also pretty basic and the brownie a la mode we ordered was lackluster. Ordered tea and one of the worst I’ve ever had. A five star luxury hotel can’t even make a good tea! Boo. Sorry don’t think I’m going back. Not worth the price whatsoever.

Rooftop, what happened to you? You used to be so fun and the food used to be so good. Three stars only for how excelent the service is. Very accommodating and helpful with rowdy kids and easy place for them to play around etc. These are all qualities that make the rooftop awesome. But the food has drastically dropped. My noodles were like bottle sauce pad thai. turkey burger was bland, regular burger was ok and quinoa, well, its quinoa — our friend eating it said it was ok for even being quinoa. The kids had chicken tenders and fies, which was the best part of the meal. Very sad to see the food quality drop so much. Staff however, still as fabulous. Save yourself the headache, have them send you tea service/caddy from the bottom floor and just enjoy the view instead.

Seeing old friends at a great and classy eatery is always such a treat. But this time, it was extra special as I hadn’t seen Tess in a very long time and seeing her again was a tremendous boon. You never really know how much some friends can mean to you until your situation is dire and they voluntarily give of themselves to help ease the pain and discomfort as she did for me when I was hospitalized. She didn’t know me well at the time, yet would come over after her work and massage my feet when I was incapacitated and talk to me until I fell asleep. Of course, I’m not reviewing Tess here but I had to mention why she’s so important to this topic. If I cry, it’s her fault, not the restaurant’s. Making the drive from the LBC to the big BH is a trek for me but for this outstanding lunch and my outstanding friend, I’d do it a hundred times if I could afford it. Everything about the lunch was superb from the seating to the lunch fare to the follow-up and on this gorgeous day, there was no place in the world I’d rather have been. A tour of the fabulous spa just opposite the restaurant is recommended while in the zone. It’s worth the visit. And I would’ve opted for the Oxygen Facial, but at $ 375 I think I’m pretty enough with this sun-damaged old face. I live in the LBC, not the 90210 and I don’t need to keep up an enhanced image anyway. Now if I had a sugar-daddy, things might be different. Love you, Tess, see you on the Roof.

«Sharing the same meal reaffirms kinship.» Deng Ming-Dao, author(«365 Day Tao»), artist, philosopher, teacher, martial artist And yesterday, that’s exactly what my very first Unilocal friend, Robin Z., and I did at the Peninsula Hotel’s The Roof Garden. Enter palatial premises, take a fifth floor ride then prepare to be catered to, served well under umbrella shaded tables by professional, in the know, gracious waitrons. Once seated, take a deep cleansing breath while you absorb the 90212(yeah, that’s still Bev Hills) from high above ambient traffic noise. Slip your watch off, disconnect your tech; relax… Both mood and attire is casual here but the dining and decorum is black-tie. Both of us Roof Garden newbies, our server highlighted, although everything sounded amazing, the best of the menu with special focus on health conscious fare. Both of us ordered the Halibut with squid ink polenta, tomato stew, fennel and hearts of palm salad, sat back, caught up, nibbled on a well-culled breadbasket. Iced tea(refilled gratis) for Robin Z., a glass of rosé for me as my work, a rare occurrence, was done for the day. We ate with our eyes first, snapped pics(as all good Unilocalers do) then set fork to fish, a delicate deconstruction atop layers of flavors enhancing each bite. Sated not stuffed, as I always say, there was no room for albeit highly tempting desserts. Both of us decided we must do this again same time next year or sooner. The Roof Garden’s hours are 7:00AM — 9:00PM. At lunchtime it’s busy so I was glad I made a reservation. Open Table link from the Peninsula’s site is super slow. I called the resto instead. Street parking is residential permit enforced one or two hours depending on the street, there’s metered two-hour spaces on Santa Monica Blvd. I valet parked at the hotel. The Roof Garden validates for two hours but my tab was still $ 10 not including gratuity, however, not having to worry about a $ 78+ Beverly Hills parking ticket is SO conducive to a WAY better dine!

«Restaurants aren’t nice to people, they’re nice to credit cards.» We called, made a reservation and confirmed that The Garden Roof dress code was«casual». I guess casual is subjective because I honestly felt because we were more«casual»(in shorts) than most, we were treated differently and our service was lacking. It’s unfortunate because we enjoyed our food and wanted get dessert but our server just dropped the ball and forgot about us. The first time he forgot was to tell us about the dinner specials. I heard it when he told the 2 tables around us, but he failed to tell us about them! I would have loved to have had ordered the halibut… but I was never given that option. He also never checked on us during the duration of our meal and he completely let us wait and wait and wait to order dessert. We waited so long we decided to get dessert elsewhere and had enough time to check on Unilocal and find another place. The manager on duty was also making the rounds and not once did he stop at out table to ask about our meal/service. They really failed us. We should have just had dinner at the Beverly Hilton where we are staying.

It’s on rooftop of the elegant Peninsula Hotel. You know, the fancy hotel where all the girls on your Facebook post pictures of their afternoon tea. You’ll see those girls taking food pics on your way to the elevators. Sorry ladies, wearing a nice dress and being in a 5 star hotel doesn’t make your food pics any classier. Parking: If you come on a Sunday, there’s plenty of street and free meter parking. No need to drop a fortune on valet. You can afford to walk 5 minutes like a commoner. View: This isn’t Perch or Standard; if you want any hope for a view, you’ll need to nab a seat at the edge. Otherwise, the Sun umbrellas obscure everything, and you may as well be on a first floor patio where all the plebeians dwell. Drinks: The mimosas came in dinky flutes. Nothing special. It’s something might expect the smallfolk to drink. Food: It’s expensive here. Leave your ratchet $ peasant girl at home and only bring your classier $$$+ ladies here. I don’t recommend ordering any sandwich or burger because I’ve never seen a sandwich or burger worth $ 30. If your date wants a sandwich or burger, you need to regulate. Service: As you would expect of a 5 star hotel. It was prompt, polite, and in that Goldilocks zone where they aren’t always interrupting your mojo, yet not absent to the point where you have to look around the flag someone down for 20 minutes. It was just right.

Service: Prompt. The servers were sweet and attentive. The trainee, Andy, was polite, articulate and didn’t miss a beat. My glass of water was filled constantly without having to ask; my party and I were consistently being checked on. Ambiance: I was expecting a view of Beverly Hills. The restaurant is on the rooftop of the fifth floor of the Peninsula Hotel, and we really couldn’t see much aside from the rooftop area, other tables, and part of the pool which neighbors the restaurant. Bummer, I like dinner with a view! Food: They had a BBQ menu for Memorial Day and their regular menu/à la carte menu. Nothing on the BBQ menu jumped out at me, so I opted for the regular menu. It was two pages and consisted of salads and starters. Fish. Meat. Burgers. I ordered a plate of fish tacos which were served with a side of mango salsa. My fish tacos were good, but didn’t taste like fish tacos that were exclusive to the restaurant. No unique combo. Nothing new. Even the mango salsa was all too familiar. My entrée didn’t live up to its $ 25 price point. I get this is BH, but if you’re going to charge that much for 4 tacos, make them memorable! The complimentary bread and butter was good, but also standard and nothing I haven’t seen and tasted before. Price: A little expensive. Expected, given location but nothing unique about the food or dining experience to warrant the prices. Overall experience: Okay. Not bad. Not wow. Just oooooookay.

If I wasn’t at a work event, I definitely would have been snapping pics of all our food because the plating here is just absolutely gorgeous! Huge props to the kitchen for their beautiful arrangements. I was with a big group for lunch and we ordered lots of different things off the menu and I was really impressed by how everything came out. A lot of LA places overcharge you for small portions of gourmet food, but the portions at the Roof Garden were really huge — worth the money! We split several of the Ahi Tuna«Chop Chop» salads as an app, which was AWESOME. Really fresh ingredients and great flavor. I had the fish tacos(I know, I know, lots of fish and avocado for me) and thought they were great as well. They come with a mango pico de gallo and limes which I thought added the perfect amount of citrus/zestiness to the fish and guac. Other dishes that got thumbs up at our table: Chilled Lobster BLT(ENORMOUS!), Roasted Mary’s Chicken Breast, Angus Beef Burger(two huge thumbs, way up!), Tofu Pad Thai, and the Lili Salad. You probably can’t go wrong with any of the dishes here, honestly. Service was extremely prompt and attentive — our party had several people refilling our drinks and checking on everything. It was exactly what you’d expect for Beverly Hills. Lastly, I have to give a shoutout to the nutty chocolate chip cookie which was the perfect way to finish lunch. It wasn’t exactly the most upscale dessert, but hey, it hit my sweet tooth just right!

PROS: Fantastic Service, Great Ambiance in such a beautiful relaxing Hotel. CONS: Burger and dessert were ok. Food definitely needs to be up to par with the prices or at the very least with the type of hotel. Service is top-notch here. Ambiance is fantastic with a fresh ocean breeze. I have had a much better burger and dessert at South Beverly Grill. Not impressed with my lunch, will have to go back and have a different dish and see if any better.

An upscale restaurant located on the rooftop of the 5-star Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills. Their service and food is 5 stars as well. You might spot a celebrity or two. I happened to be sitting at the table next to David Beckham. Yes, ladies, David Beckham. I ordered the turkey burger that comes with turkey bacon, and some roasted slices of apple and macadamia nuts salad with various dressings. Excellent food. Excellent service.

I had an urge to go to BH by myself and I found this place on my phone. It looked really nice and rooftop as well. I ordered the filet with quinoa and it was very good. I sat around the bonfire area and it was really cozy. I loved the service here. The waiter was really nice and would always pour my water when he comes by. Paying for $ 10 fuji water was a turn off, but I didn’t feel like drinking tap water. The bread that comes with is very plentiful. The way the chefs made the sauce with the quinoa and the filets made it really mouth watering.

Went here with my family last Christmas Eve, food is great as expected from Peninsula but, coming here on the Eve of Christmas may be too cold. I should have checked the weather condition that day. Expect guests from the hotel to come around you with their robes on while they grab a drink coz it’s by the pool area. Now, imagine summer! They should have a separate entrance/exit for hotel guests, just saying. Ideal to go to on summer nights but, I’m sure it’ll be packed with guests from the hotel. Love the food and service and will definitely try again some time soon hence the 4 stars.

The area of where the restaurant is was a big different because you have to go through the spa to get to the restaurant. It didn’t bother me too much. My colleagues and I came here for our Holiday lunch. The service was great, and the set up was very nice. It’s definitely one of those restaurants where you come, lounge and just hang out with friends. I ordered the GRILLEDPEAR, CHERRIES, ANDBLUECHEESESALAD and the CHICKENTORTILLASOUP. Both dishes were great and perfect for lunch. I really enjoyed myself. Prices are a bit high, but what do you honestly expect to find in Beverly Hills? Check it out and don’t let the prices be the only thing that keeps you from coming back. ENJOY!
