Booked a reservation for Father’s Day brunch at 10:30 via Open Table. I called them right after and asked if they were serving brunch at 10:30 on Father’s Day, and they said they would. Lo and behold, on Friday, 2 days before the brunch was supposed to happen they called me and said that my reservation was cancelled. Their justification was that Open Table was wrong. Well great, what am I supposed to do with 2 days notice? Everything else is all booked up! They offered me a 9AM breakfast(no, we wanted brunch, plus we were busy at that time) or 2:30 brunch(way too late for little kids to be eating then). I told them neither of the times were ideal and they should have called me earlier, and then the manager said, «well, you could come at 10:30 am and wait in the bar until 2:30.» That doesn’t even make any sense! One star for the terrible service and terrible attitude, another for them at least mildly trying(although that’s a generous word) to make it up to us. When my husband found out, he told me to cancel. Thanks for ruining Father’s Day for us!

We love the new décor and the service was great per usual. The patio was nice. We’ve been coming to the Belvedere for 8 years and are sad to see that the menu changed so drastically. We were big fans of the tasting menu. This new menu is ~¾ seafood and strangely laid out. The entrees are no longer accompanied by sides and it is unclear what the portions are or what sides compliment the entrees. The filet was dry and needed more sauce. It was also slightly overcooked :/But it seems this is a seafood restaurant now, so maybe we shouldn’t expect perfection? The pineapple mojito cocktail included a jalapeño syrup which was not listed on the menu description. I like jalapeño syrup more than your average drinker, but I was definitely not in the mood for it at the time, and was not in the mood for such a dominant surprise ingredient. Totally killed all the other flavors in the drink. It made me a bit uncomfortable because this was the first drink in my life that I’ve ever sent back. We’ll probably give the Belvedere another try, but our most recent visit was a bit disappointing.

The new updated look of belvedere is inviting, airy and light. It still holds the white glove service that it was known for but with more an updated atmosphere. A far stretch from what it used to be before. Instead of the pretentious Beverly Hills feel, now it feels like a beautiful European/Parisian restaurant. Food — we ordered the shakshouka and salmon flatbread. For the price, this is probably the best bang for your buck because you literally get sooooo much salmon that it’s impossible for one to finish. It’s a great take on salmon lox but in flatbread form. It’s delicious and highly recommend. On the other hand, the shakshuka was anything but impressive. It lacked flavor and tasted like tomato water and was filled with too many onions. It should have been called«onion soup shakshuka.» I def think I would go back and try something else for breakfast and brunch.

Fatimah was amazing! I came here with my dad and step mom for my graduation dinner. The food was so good! The executive chef, David, came out an introduced himself to us, which was awesome. He was very nice and welcoming. He served us these two delicious appetizers(I’m not sure what they’re called). One was a pasta with duck, and the other was crab on flat bread. For a starter they bring out their home made focaccia bread, which is pretty delicious. For an entrée, I had the salmon, which I loved. My dad had the steak, and my step mom had the mahi mahi. They both enjoyed their meals. The only thing they didn’t like was their side of cauliflower. To drink I had the Sauvignon blanc. It was fruity and smooth. Fatimah was such a great waiter. She checked on us regularly and made sure everything was okay. The men who aided her and cleaned off the tables were also very kind. Everyone at the restaurant was great. I really enjoyed my graduation dinner.

The Bellevue do your restaurant in the Peninsula Hotel is a top-notch dining experience. Our gracious hostess met with them ahead of time and secured a private room for a very special evening. We shared several dishes to start including their specialty focaccia bread served in a copper tin toped with an olive tapenade and herbs. We truly enjoyed the pot of smoked fish with warm pita bread, pickled vegetables. The lamb meatballs with a Greek yogurt sauce were moist and flavorful. I really enjoyed my salmon entrée. It was recommended and I agree it was delicious. The service was top-notch all around except sadly our hostess arranged a beautiful desert that was presented to us while she was actually out of the room. That was a disappointment to her and an oversight on the staff department. It would be like presenting an engagement desert to the future bride when the groom was out of the room. Ugh. Luckily she is so gracious that she blew it off beautifully. It did not take away from how gorgeous the dessert was and what a special evening we had at the Belvedere restaurant. We would surely go back given the chance.

My friend took me to a lovely lunch at The Belvedere. The room is beautiful: the flower arrangements are huge and gorgeous, the modern art on the wall is also big and attractive. It’s a nice place to have a fancy lunch. My cauliflower soup was very good and the presentation was beautiful. The spinach and date salad is served with Marcona almonds and drizzled with honey. The salad was good, but a bit overdressed(and had too much honey). The service was pretty bad. They took forever to simply take our order, and that happened again later for dessert: they put down dessert menus and didn’t come back to ask what we wanted for awhile. Luckily we were having a leisurely lunch, otherwise it would have been really annoying. Bad service continued when they forgot to give us a spoon when they served our soup, and we had to chase someone down to get one. They also brought milk when we asked for cream. I expected more for such a fancy place.

My friend and I had dinner here last night for the first time since the remodel and it was an exceptional evening. The Peninsula is always a classy place and as usual the service was top notch. Our waiter Jeffrey was always there when we needed something and the food was excellent. We shared: The Mussels(exceptional), Duck Confit, Lamb Tagine(exceptional), a salad, Dover Sole and Broccolini. The Sommelier pared our dishes with the most amazing Cabernet… I hate myself a little for forgetting the name. Oh the perils of drinking and forgetting your order so you can’t properly Unilocal about it. Other reviewers have commented on the new décor. Yes, it is different and not exactly what you would expect to see at The Peninsula but I found it inviting and easy on the eyes. The art was an edgy and fun contrast to the casual French Country luxury theme. This is a great place for an intimate dinner, a group dinner or a business meeting. The noise level was perfect even though the restaurant was full. Also, the tables are not close together, which I REALLY appreciate. Would I go back? Yes, yes a thousand times yes.

Our favorite restaurant was the old Belvedere. We were so excited to try the redone Belvedere, and were so unhappy with most of the changes. The Menu is complicated and the new dishes are very disappointing except for a few new exceptional items. The filet mignon is dry and not as good as the old one, and the chicken was juicy but not as tasty as the old dish. The Caesar salad was superb, and the bake cauliflower was a must. The most disappointing thing was you have to buy bread. They used to have the most amazing bread basket included with your meal. We hope they improve and will give them another chance in about 6 months.

As very frequent guests of the(fabulous) Peninsula in Beverly Hills, we were anxiously waiting for the renovation of the Belvedere restaurant to reopen; we have dined there numerous times over the years. We expected a whole different ‘look’ for the décor. The layout of the room is the same with some new fabrics, paint and artwork. Service is as great as it always was! We found the food choices on the new menu rather odd. It took forever to get our food and it was apparent that the Chef did not prepare it as we requested. No reason to go into the details, as it would take a very long time to do so!!! Wine list is very long and wonderful! Sorry to say, they have lost our business, unless they change the menu and food preparation. Too many other great choices of restaurants in L.A.

Classy restaurant, great service but… I ordered the Salmon and it was tasteless which made it a huge disappointment for a place like this. The deserters were really good and the wine we had met expectations Nice place but food is OK

WOW! Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful hotel. Between the excellent service and high quality, excellent tasting food, you’ll have a fantastic dinner! So much to recommend but if you love Mojitos like I do, try theirs. They said it’s the best & they didn’t lie. Lol

Well this review is about two months over due… oops. I must say I’m usually the one to criticize fancier restaurants as not having tasty foods, just over priced dishes. I’m going to have to take back my words because belvedere was seriously the most amazing dining experience ever. The waiters were extremely attentive and the décor of the restaurant is extremely classy. Okay enough of that. The best part. THEFOOD. The bread basket. YES. So good. The Caesar salad literally tasted like they picked the lettuce fresh at that moment and washed it and served it to us. The chicken was so juicy it was incredible. By far the best salad ever. I got the roasted chicken for my entrée and substituted the mash potatoes with fries.(Classy I know). I seriously can’t wait to go again.

The Peninsula is a truly beautiful and wonderful hotel. I’ve been here as a guest, invitee, and host for several events that I had at this place. Each time, I have always been satisfied with both the service and quality of food I have had. Food: As someone who grew up in England, the Peninsula is one of the few hotels in California that offer a high tea service that is on par with what you would get at Claridges, Savoy, etc. The items they serve are not exactly authentic but they are well made, delicious, and beautifully presented. Their sandwiches and pastries typically get rotated out once a year but I can depend that the salmon and cucumber will remain. Belvedere’s dinner menu is also comprehensive and their items are wonderfully cooked. Portion sizes here are reasonable and they have a good wine list. Service: fantastic, attentive service with staff members who are really kind and genuinely want to make sure you are enjoying yourself. In fact, I rank their service higher than the Four Seasons and the Ritz Carlton; they are that impeccable. Ambience: sophisticated, romantic, upscale, and very beautiful lighting. This is a fantastic place if you want to come here to celebrate something special!

«It is so hard to find a good restaurant inside a hotel:(«(exceptions: Hotel Bel Air, SLS Hotel, and Ritz Carlton in Maui.) This is how I felt after dining at this establishment. Don’t get me wrong, it was delicious but not spectacular. I can’t help but feel that dishes here are lacking elegance in both presentation and taste especially the atmosphere is very stylish and services are gracefully done. There were just four of us but at least three of their servers were there to serve us and they treated us like we were royals. It was wonderful experience and would like to come back for brunch next time.

Tried this for the first time for their Thanksgiving Lunch/Dinner(Linner?). Décor: Beautiful; I love dining rooms that are bright and this fits my criteria. Tables: A bit close together(not sure if this was to fit more people in for the holiday) and table a bit small for 4 people(there was a constant need to keep shifting all the plates, glasses and platters around). Food: Excellent. I enjoyed everything.(My teens enjoyed most, but a couple of items they did not, but their palates are not as developed.) They had a buffet style dessert table; I did not partake, but my teens/husband enjoyed. Drinks: Wine pairings were fantastic and champagne was provided throughout. «Celebrity» Sighting: Larry Flynt(as he was being wheeled out, his chair was bumped into my son’s chair; like I said, tables a bit too close together). Would recommend for a holiday dinner.

Lovely Christmas Family Style Dinner. Great service. Plenty of food and drinks. Acoustics were good. Friendly atmosphere. The turkey/stuff/cranberry sauce and the pumpkin risotto were some of my favorites. There was a buffet style dessert which had gingerbread cookies, chocolate chip cookies, brownie bites, bread pudding, custard, and more. Service was very attentive and helpful.

This is a beautiful dining room in the Peninsula Hotel. The space is light and airy, which makes it ideal for Sunday or Holiday brunch. We visited at Thanksgiving, and had a great time. The menu was served family style, beginning with appetizers, followed by main courses. Then dessert was buffet style. There were a wide range of seafood, meat and vegetable items in the set menu, and the Champagne was endless. Service was attentive and very welcoming, not stiff in the slightest. Definitely a good choice for a midday meal.

The Belvedere is located on the plaza level of the Peninsula hotel. You valet park and follow the sign(or you can ask the ever so polite workers at the hotel how to get to The Belvedere). The décor is old school classy with a slight hint of modern. I don’t even really know what I mean by this but there’s a good balance of some remnants of old school glamour with some Beverly Hills modern glam for their décor. Their service is top-notch. From their host/hostress to waiter/waitress to whoever and whatever, everyone is just so polite and friendly. I think their service should get five stars on their own. Their breads are pretty damn good. And when you pack your left overs, they usually offer you a new basket of bread to take home, which is pretty cool. Their menu itself is pretty standard. There are some good land(chicken/steak) dishes, sea dishes, and the side order items. Their truffle mac n cheese is pretty good. It is very on the cheesy side(i love cheese) so it works out for me. Poached jidori chicken breast, filet mignon/steak/beef platters are all your standard items. They are all solid, but nothing really tastes«out of this world» or whatever. I think their chocolate soufflé is their best item, moist, rich, and flavorful, it is a must try. This place is great for its décor and service. I think their food is somewhat secondary to their name. That’s not to say this place isn’t good, it’s just not amazing. I think it’s a great place for special occasion and whatnot.
