One of the best fancy and high quality restaurants in downtown bellflower. Food is so delicious and fresh.

Walked in, ordered a bottle of wine(not a cheap one) then we were seated. Waited for ever, had to ask again for the bottle of wine. Then waited for ever for food, one of the kids last to be served. She was starving.

Food tastes decent but portions are small. The guy who gives water is excellent. The problem is the first order came after 45 minutes of ordering and each plate came out ten minutes after the next. When u have a party of 11 you simply can’t enjoy your meal. There are many other mainstream places to eat like Olive Garden. The taste is good but not great and the bread they give seems plain and cheap. We just found out that the last duck got messed up so my wife’s meal That she Waited an hour for is no longer coming. And now we just found out the soufflé will take another 45 minutes. This place needs to get their stuff together. We will not be coming back.

Good food, great presentation. No complaints. The best french food in the area. Very romantic atmosphere. Great for small, private dates. First time here was in the evening with my bf. We noticed its more for an older, more sophisticated type of crowd. Regardless, we loveeeeed it!

I remember going here many years ago. I was still impressed today. I loved the Lobster Bisque which was exquisite and the service was excellent… but… My problem with having a light lunch on this Tuesday at 11 ish, was the music for a semi French restaurant was rap music which I thought should be slightly more fitting to the atmosphere of fine silver and tablecloths. My Son’s Angus burger was impeccable with grilled onions and aioli dressing but my Spinach Salad was missing a perkiness maybe cranberries? walnuts? a different dressing? I just can’t say what but something was missing. The Menu needed more entrée’s; I think a Chicken or Seafood Crêpe for lunch possibly with a mild hollandaise or white sauce. This sounds like a terrible revue but it is not, I will go there again and maybe try something more substantive than my soup and salad as I did today.

Lobster Bisque was on my mind last week, so I was excited to find a place in the area that served it. Coworker and I headed over for lunch. This place is cute, but a little outdated and run down. It’s one of the«nicer» places I have been to in this area though. It wasn’t very busy when we visited, only a couple other tables. There was one waiter and he did an okay job, but seemed overwhelmed by having to tend to all the occupied tables. We were served bread and butter shortly after arriving, it was good. The butter was very softy and salty, so I was happy with it. For lunch we both had the lobster bisque to start, I had the grilled veggie sandwich, and she had the crispy beef potstickers. The bisque came out quickly. It wasn’t that great. Too thin and had a grainy texture to it, which I did not enjoy. My grilled veggie sandwich was flavorful. It was served on a wheat roll with mayo, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, roasted bell pepper, zucchini, and lettuce. Tasty, but messy. It fell apart pretty quickly and I ended up eating it with a fork. The fries on the side tasted like frozen fries, not very good. She said the sauce served with her potstickers was great, but the meat inside was like«cheap hamburger meat.» She wasn’t impressed. Can’t say we would come back here since the food didn’t wow us and the bill was over $ 40.

Ate here with my family and it was one of my worst experiences ever. At first I thought the menu was reasonably priced for the the type of entrées, but after we received our dishes it explained everything. Service was horrible and terribly slow and the food was not good at all. We were sat down and not received by a waiter for at least 10 minutes. Another 10 minutes we finally got water and we thought we’d better ask for drinks then as it was obvious they were under staffed. Another 10 minutes we finally got our drinks. It was almost 1 hour before we got our first appetizer. Our dishes all came out at different times. We had to ask for bread for our table several times. My food came out last about 1 ½ hours after sitting down and two of our orders were screwed up. Two of our orders were supposed to be the filet and lobster, but came without the lobster. Our dishes were sent back to the kitchen to have the lobster added. They finally came back with a half cooked raw lobster and now our filets were cold. They were sent back to the kitchen to reheat. By the time our food came out half of our party was done eating and ready to leave and half of us were stuffed on bread and lost our appetite. The filets were doused with some sort of gravy to camouflage the meat. A good steak does not need gravy. It’s no wonder the prices. Our bill was well over $ 240 and was a terrible disappointment. Our waiter and what appeared to be the manager was apologetic but not enough to comp for much other than a cheap small desert not worth more than a buck to them. A slap in the face. Insulting! In summary, food quality was poor and below cafeteria quality. Service was horrible. Not worth the money. Needless to say I will not be coming back here ever again.

Amazingly delightful to the pallette, super affordable, easy parking, great service! TOFFEE dessert is to die for. This place needs 6 stars! I’m glad to see a french restaurant with this caliber this close to me(pico rivera). Can’t wait to go back!

Get ready for a wait that’s worth it. This is easily a 2 hour process from Bread, wine, appetizer, main entrée to dessert. Excellent wine list Kistler 2010 Chardonnay $ 65. Filet minion and Lobster $ 31 and very generous portions(filet a little thin) but cooked to perfection. Desserts amazing! Took my mom out tonight for her Birthday really enjoyed our evening here. Server was very polite and accommodating.

Nice quite and cozy place. The food … Not so good! We had the Rib Eye special and it was not worth what we paid for. I’ll tell you, when I first learned how to cook 40 years ago(I was 10) I cook just like this. No flavor. The gravy and onions over meat had no flavor the cut of the rib eye had so much fat and gristle every other bite we had to spit out. The goat salad was good but the soup was very salty. I don’t know what the rest of the menu taste like and everyone has different taste try it if you like.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been back here, but I’m glad I did. Food here is DELICIOUS. I was next door at Fronks when I noticed a banner saying Café Camellia on it. No other signs or billboard, just a banner. And I remembered going to a Café Camellia over a decade ago maybe longer and I remembered the food was excellent back then. It’s still here and I had to try it again. Here’s the rundown: Cheese Salad«Of blue, feta and goat cheese in a balsamic vinaigrette with candied walnut, dried apricot and cherry tomato» I love cheese, that’s why I got this salad, but OMG I didn’t expect it to be this good. The blue cheese & goat cheese worked so good with the balsamic vinaigrette. The candied walnut provided some crunch. Just an outstanding dish. Traditional Caesar Salad«With garlic croutons, parmesan cheese and anchovy filet in our homemade caesar dressing» when I saw«anchovy filet» on the description for this dish, I had to try it. BAM! The anchovy gives this dish a natural saltiness that is just on the money. Homemade Caesar dressing was perfect and those garlic croutons were delicious. Osso Bucco«With a tomato, lemon and orange zest sauce» The description said this dish was served over pasta, there was no pasta on my dish anyways. But, damn this dish was so GOOD! Melt in your mouth tender meat. The sauce was lick your plate good. This dish also came with steamed vegetable and a potato side dish that looked like a lasagna of potato that was very very very good(and I’m not a potato fan). Excellent dish! Blackened Sea Bass«Served in a garlic chili cream» Buttery soft, perfectly cooked fish. The garlic cream sauce is Money! So good. The flavors were amazing. Yum! I got four dishes and each of them were home runs. Delicious. Price: it’s on the high side, but it’s so worth it. A lot of years went by between my two meals here, but it’s not going to take that long before I came back again. My 600th review. It was a worthy place for this milestone. Come try it for yourself, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

I’m sorry to say, my dining experience wasn’t so memorable. I had the recommended dishes: lobster bisque, lamb chops and sea bass… and nothing quite stood out to me. The service was awesome, super friendly owner. The décor… pretty plain. Love the full bar, but felt it was kinda pricy for the amount and environment. I feel like I should give it another try before I write this one off my list…

You are missing out on a little bit of heaven if you have not been here, to Café Camellia. The prices are perfect for the quality dishes they serve.

One of my favorite restaurants in Bellflower. I love the Muscovy duck with vegetables, I would order it every time. My mother and I have gone to their wine tasting dinners, which are always fun! It is usually not too busy, so the service is very good. Also, their sea bass is too die for. I have never had a bad dish here or a wine that wasn’t excellent.

Went here tonight and it was the most amazing dining experiences of my life. The hostess/server/bartender was drunk as a skunk. Smelled of alcohol, slurred her speech, and I was sure going to spill water glasses on my lap as she tried to set them on the table. It’s took 10 minutes to get water and another 10 to get menus. Not that the menus mattered. She wrote down scribbles and circles on her notepad. There were no discernible letters on the order pad. After explaining we had one in our party that had to get to the airport and were pressed for time, she continued to ramble on drunkinly about incomprehensible topics. When all was ordered, she came back 10 minutes later, explained the computer wasn’t working, and the order couldn’t go in. In very short order she brought out seemingly random items we hasn’t ordered, but were her own favorite items.

We came here for our Christmas lunch for the office. I love this restaurant, always classy dishes and delish if I do say so myself. I had the prime rib lunch and it came with their lovely potatoes prepare the only way they know how, layered delicately and cooked to perfection. It also came with veggies. Mine was a winner and everybody else enjoyed their meal as well. yeah, i’ll always come back.

Myself and a coworker went in for dinner the other night after work and the food was amazing. We ordered the Kung pao calamari and for entrée the sea bass and the lamb loin. Each dish was prepared quite well and the lamb was perfectly cooked. It’s not easy finding an affordable French place anymore and Camellia was worth the money. As a plus the service actually matched the food. All in all a great dining experience.

What is unique about Café Camellia is that it feels like it literally in the middle of nowhere so you may not see that many people coming and going in the evenings. But that is what also makes it soooooo COOL. Especially when you feel like you rented the whole place out for your birthday! :D For my birthday this year, myself and 13 other friends wined and dined in what felt like our own private party, and on a Friday night too! It was just us and we had the place alllllll to ourselves. The waiter was super awesome and he was pretty much a one man show! He was the bartender, the waiter, the hostess, and we pretty much thought he cooked the food too! Although my friend said she did see one chef ;) Our waters and breads were constantly refilled and he did everything in such a calm and efficient manner. I appreciated that because it help set the tone for the whole night. The décor of the café may not be too modern, but it was nice and clean and the food was delicious. Although, I did get a sampling of some of my friend’s food, my boyfriend and I shared: Kung Pao Calamari. Pretty much Kung Pao sauce over pieces of fried calamari. Nothing too unique but it was good. Not too salty either. Lobster Bisque. This was really good. Really creamy and you could taste the chunks of lobster in the soup. Seafood Platter. We split this($ 3 charge), and it came with lobster tail, shrimp, fish and scallops. I wish the lobster was a bit more tender, but we had a good portion of meat. The rest of the seafood was nice and tender and juicy. It came with a side of steamed vegetables and this really yummy layered potato thing! The scalloped potatoes were dope! Everyone loved it! My other friends ordered steaks, pasta and stuffed chicken. The menu has a whole range of items. All my friends really loved their food and commented on the quality. This is suppose to be French cuisine, but I guess most of what my friends and I ordered wasn’t in that realm. :P Definitely a great place for fine dining. It is a hidden gem, and you would definitely pass it if you weren’t looking. Parking is ample in back. The whole experience, the service, the food, and my company made it a pretty awesome birthday this year. :)

As someone who grew up in the 562, I have always been disappointed by the lack of good unique restaurants. However, Café Camellia is one of the places I enjoy very much. The service is excellent and every time my family has dined here, the servers have been attentive but not overbearing. I love love love the calamari. It’s different from most places and extremely delicious. Homemade ravioli with rock shrimp is the best ravioli dish I’ve ever had. Sautéed Prawns & Sea Scallops served with Spanish & Roasted Almond in a Garlic Butter is amazing. I have never been disappointed with anything I’ve had here and I will continue coming here!
