This is my first time visiting this restaurant and I was surprised that the restaurant had a french environment which before I visited the restaurant I was learning french. Anyways, I checked out the food and the food is delicious. Although they have wine but I am not a drinker, they do have wine for $ 5. If you are into french culture, go check this out.

Firs time at this Mimi’s and I’ve been a fan of Mimi’s for a while! Everything was great until a certain point which I’ll explain. Our serve Jaquelin was great, attentive, knew her menu and gave us refills as needed without us asking which I love. My only complaint would be that our entrees took a very long time. I ordered a half sandwich and a salad and my husband an burger. There is a grace in time because you figure it may be busy or our food is different and such but after a certain time has hit you know, ok this is taking too long. And there could have been many reasons maybe the cooks were just being lazy? Maybe she forgot to put in our order? A lady and her daughter were seated after us and received their food before we did which was a bummer. My husband is a very patient mans and he was irritated that our food took a while. And that my friends is when you know the food took long. We finally received our food and I didn’t know it came with fruit, but the fruit was hot so I asked to change it for fries, Jaquelin did that right away. My salad was on the warm side which I didn’t ask for it to be changed I was just hungry and wanting to eat my meal. So I’m thinking maybe our food was sitting up under the warmer? Idk but over all it was a good experience and our server 5 stars she kept her composure and hustled to make sure we received our food I know how it can be when the kitchen takes a while. I would be back again but I don’t know how soon. Thanks again for the service Jaquelin!

My food was nice and warm :) No complains. Service was good. I’m a happy camper. (Ordered the chicken and waffles and added a cup of mushroom soup)

Come here quite often hoping that service will be better than my previous visits… but it’s usually the same. What annoys me the most is I notice the surrounding tables getting great service by different waiters. if only I would’ve been seated in their section! But food alone would get five stars. Good luck getting sat with a good waiter:)

I like menu and service. But EVERYTIME we come here it is very COLD. so much so that it negates everything else. Just don’t want to deal with it every time. We tell them every time. Every time they say they will check thermostat. Everyone always has coats and sweaters on. When we mention it, others around us then agree. They say heater on. Agree it’s cold. Nothing happens. Management must be aware they have a problem. But if people keep coming, why make the investment. Well, just come well bundled up if you want to eat here. How about just deal with it and make it right!

It was my first time coming to this location and the service was great! Customer service is on point very attentive waitresses and overall staff… The chicken parmesan was wayyy better than the one at Olive Garden! It was pretty busy and at no point we’re we ever neglected they checked up on us consistently without being overbearing gave us water without needing to ask I was very happy with the service definitely making this a go-to place

The host which was a manager made me feel so unwelcomed. I simply ask him about seating at the bar and his response was no I only have one waitress. I go here at least twice a month and dont appreciate bad attitudes. A lady at the bar which was Caucasian said she just ask and he allowed it. Its a young manager who always smile and love his job. I will find better place.

Went there for breakfast today– service was a bit slow, and hostess seemed bothered– and I was going to go 3 stars, maybe 2 because my oatmeal seemed like concrete paste only thicker and colder– but then… it was the only thing we ate all day. 3 hours later and my 6 year old has food poisoning. Dry heaving still continuing at 8PM– only thing she ate that we didn’t was fruit. She has eaten nothing else since, and before that was dinner at 6PM the day before…

I live between northern & southern CA, so we’ve stopped preparing big dinners at home. It’s just easier to order dinners, since I have to split my holidays. I usually fly down on the actual holiday. We had to come here on Thanksgiving Day to pick up an order we had originally placed at the Fullerton location. However, when we called that location in the morning, they suddenly told us that they were having issues and would transfer our order to Downey. We were told we would be given extra food for the inconvenience. We got to the Downey location to pick up our order. The staff here was very nice, especially considering that the entire place was full with people dining in for Thanksgiving. They told us that they were out of dark meat and also out of pecan pie. We said that’s fine. It was too late to order somewhere else or to make our own dinner, so we could just live with it. So, while we were waiting, I sat at the bar and ordered a mimosa(which took forever to order). Well, we got home, and we were missing some pies and we didn’t get any«extra» food. Actually, I think we got a few pieces of bread. We weren’t going to drive all the way back to Downey for pie.

Its Thanksgiving Day and I made sure I called about 40 minutes before my pick up time with my take out order I ordered 3 turkey dinners and 2 pecan pies unfortunately when I got there I still had to wait another 20 minutes because the server was putting meals together the meals were missing gravy they were missing cranberry relish salad dressing and it was given no utensils even if it was a take out order and they ran out of pecan and so I had to get pumpkin I just felt like the staff was very confused and there was no guidance within the upper management. She put my order together piece by piece as I Sat there and watched her although I didn’t mind the view of the male servers haha(cute) the customer service was okay. Take out is fast and easy. I could of had my dinner there with the time I had to wait.

My sister made a reservation for 4 people on thanksgiving. She is a vegetarian and asked if they will have a meat alternative and they said yes, when we get their the parking was non existent and we luckily found some parking at the hotel. We have a slow waitress that has us sitting for 20 min. They don’t have anything for my sister to eat and they are out of the first course. At this point I was pissed and want to leave but they are starving and I stayed. Old tasting food, no apology and it felt like we were bothering them. I WILLNEVERCOMEBACKFORTHANKSGIVING. Wish I could give it 0 stars.

Normally eat at other locations and generally have a good experience. Not here, unfortunately. We both ordered our steaks medium rare and one was fine and one was overcooked. Then my daughter found a hair on her plate, under her broccoli! Really?! After I received my second steak knife(first was dirty), the rest of the meal went ok. The restaurant is also in desperate need of a refresh– seats on chairs are coming apart and carpet has large holes in it. Not their flagship location. Won’t be back here soon. Two stars only because Byanca, our server, tried but things that went bad were out of her control.

Minims has been in downey for quite sometime they are pretty good with breakfast so i thought I try the steak and eggs. I usually order the A1 sauce just as a back up but did not need it ;) buttering flavor cooked the way I like it medium rare !! Would have it again

Their french toast is a thinner cut slice than your Denny’s or IHOP cut — which I liked. Also, ordered a mango mimosa, you get your own tiny bottle. The times I’ve been there they have good customer service. The only issues are the parking and sometimes the wait(which depends on what time you get there and size of your party).

The food is yummy and it was a beautiful surprise to get a basket of different types of sweet breads and muffins to our table. The hostess seemed very irritated when she was seating us despite the fact that there was very little people on the restaurant at the time. But our server was kind, and though he made suggestions he never told us that additional charge applies(we weren’t sure if he was offering us examples of sides we could order or only examples of sides that automatically include a higher charge) . But very pretty and the outside itself makes it very welcoming, 3 stars

First time trying Mini’s Café and I find them alright. I like the dim setup, and the staff are friendly. A lot of their food sounds enticing but I settled for Roasted Chicken Crepes. It was flavorful and I love it. Will come back to try their other food. I find them it though that they take a while for the food to arrive. So maybe don’t come if you’re super hungry.

This place sucks. We used to enjoy the food here but now it is total crap. I was served an omelet that was grey/yellow in color and had a rubbery consistency. Terrible food preparation. My wife had microwaved oatmeal, just plopped into a bowl. I mean they did not even bother to disguise the hockey puck shape from when it was frozen. They also serve toast with thimble size portions of butter. This place is terrible. The manager and servers should be ashamed. Never again…

My mom and I came in for a lunch date after a day of shopping. We were greeted with a warm smile and seated right away. Service was nice and very patient, in the beginning, as my mom was a little indecisive and had a ton of questions. Later on service was a quite sparse. We ended up ordering the Fire-grilled seafood skewers(I chose salmon and shrimp) and the French dip sandwich. The food came out fairly quickly but that was pretty much the last we saw of our server, which was a bummer when we needed refills on our drinks, etc. Everything seemed quite bland and lacked flavor. As a family we used to come here quite often and it is no longer the same in service and quality of the food, which is quite disappointing. Another bummer is parking… the lot in front of the restaurant is small and is shared with the Embassy Suites and the Downey Civic Light Opera. If you don’t mind walking you could park behind the Downey Civic Light Opera and walk across to the restaurant, otherwise you will be driving in circles for quite awhile.

Carrot raisin bread. That is the delicious surprise that greeted me before the best meal I have ever had in/near L.A. I have been to 38 states and 9 countries and I can say without a doubt that these were the best French Fries I have ever had. I was so consumed by them that I almost neglected the best chicken I’ve had in California. Now you throw on top of that a staff that raises the bar for how to treat customers and you will only have a bad experience if that is what you are dead set on having one.
