Property Management Systems

This property management company is very unprofessional, make sure you get any agreement in writing before doing any business with them. They tell so many lies, they can’t keep them all straight.

The rental market in Portland Metro is crazy — so you really can’t pick and chose which property management company you rent with. However, if you do have a chance to pick a different one — do that. I have just been through a terrible, ridiculous move-​in experience with this company.
I’ll spare you the gory details. Suffice to say that promises were made and not kept, balls were dropped, feet were drug. Norma in the office avoided and deflected my questions and concerns to the best of her ability. When I finally did get her on the phone she was rude and it was clear she did not have a clear understanding of my issues.
If you are forced to work with Property Management Systems, please heed these warnings:
— do not listen to any promise that the leasing agent makes, especially about items that will be fixed before move-​in.
— Be prepared to do a thorough inspection when you get the keys, and don’t take them if the house is not move-​in ready. Had I known that a company would give a rental home over to tenants in this kind of shape, I definitely would’ve planned the whole thing differently. As it happened I showed up to get the keys with my U-​haul and had no choice but to take possession.
— when they agree to repair something, make sure that the contractor they are sending has been given the correct information. Several issues I was trying to get fixed had to be put off until a future visit because they were not added to the work order.
I should say that it was not all bad. Jeremy the maintenance guy is friendly and helpful. Sarah who helped me with all the paperwork and lease stuff was also terrific.

These guys are a joke! No call no show; took days to even reach someone then finally I get a response. I schedule a viewing and I waited 30min and NOBODY showed up and nobody would answer their phones either! Their office closes at 5 but it looks like that’s a lie! That’s ridiculous… Moving on now. What a POOR business with lack of management skills. Helen Keller could have done a better job than these fools.

We rented a nice home through them and were required to have the home «inspected» THREE times during an 18 month period. Needless to say, we did not enjoy taking time off work to have a stranger look through all rooms and closets of our home every 6 months. We felt this was much too invasive and completely unnecessary. My husband and I have been renting high-​end condos and homes in the Portland metro area for the past 7 years, and we are not in any way «risky» tenants. We have a solid history of excellent rental references and no credit issues at all. If you value your privacy and don’t want strangers walking through your home every 6 months, I’d recommend not ever renting from this company.
