A property company that functions like its still the 1990’s, overall we had an acceptable experience, I rented from them for a year in 2014 – 2015. The showing of the rental was a circus, there was a line and unfortunately would only let two people in at a time for the showing but there were three of us renting the unit — third person and to wait for the next showing. The person showing the place who is no longer with the company failed to show us the garage or even know there was a half bath under the stairs. They don’t take electronic transactions; check only, it was slightly concerning but being used to how things worked before the electronic age, this was just an old school place using old methods. At some point we noticed the wood flooring on the kitchen was bulging, we called property management to take a look. Apparently the heating element in the dish washing machine had come off its clip and melted a hole in the bottom of the washing machine causing a small leak. They replaced the washer with a new unit the day after calling them. One day, coming home there was water coming from underneath the garage door… the water heater failed and water was everywhere… this was a Sunday at 4:00PM. After calling the property management team, there were a few back and forth calls — the plumber would be by in the morning. I had to follow up with Gilson — the plumber guys hadn’t shown up when they were supposed to but everything eventually was taken care of well within 24 hours. The last thing to fail was the bathroom faucet, now I know how to fix these but the part on this particular one was a $ 30 replacement so I called the property manager, someone came out to fix it but the main water turn off valve ended up breaking, had to cut a hole in the drywall to get it fixed. It took a month to get the hole in the drywall fixed. This place only takes checks and has not come to the electronic age. You should always follow up with them regarding any service you need. Additionally, talk to Gilson — most of the office staff don’t seem to know whats going on and call you back after they talk with Gil so I always just asked for Gil. I did a final walk through with Gil and let me tell you he looks nothing like the picture on the website. He was nice enough to let me correct a few things we found that were the tenants responsibility. I received my full deposit back.

My wife and i are renting through Alliance and so far I have had good experiences with them both in person and on the phone. Richy in the office has been great to work with and very helpful. I don’t give more than 4 stars simply because we havent had much experience with Alliance yet. Based in the many poor reviews from others… mainly on google… I wonder how things will go down the road, but up to this point, i have been quite pleased

I could wax eloquent on the sheer volume of bad experiences I’ve had with this company, each more foolish than the last. The sad fact of the matter is that the manager, Gil, simply has no idea how being a property manager works in any sense of the word. As a small example, let us tell the story of the dishwasher. We lived in a very old house, which had in it a very old dishwasher. It finally bit the dust, so it was replaced. With what I assume was a second hand model in barely serviceable condition. C’est la vie, that’s what we get for living here, I guess. That was not the problem. The problem was what happened when the replacement dishwasher decided to malfunction. There was rancid water building up at the bottom. Like a good tenant, I called up the management company. According to them, they sent out someone to take a look at it and they said it was fine. And because I had them come out, I was on the hook for the $ 75 fee to look at it. All while the rancid water was still there in the bottom of the washer. Because I’m a busy person and small claims court is a pain, I personally paid a repair man to come fix it, as well as my «fee» from Alliance for having the audacity to tell them the appliance was broken. This is but one of a litany of examples of how horribly mismanaged this company is. Things like«contracts,» «ethics,» and«basic decency,» are apparently not in their vocabulary. You can absolutely forget any deposit you may pay in any sense, and they will do everything they can to extort you for more when you leave. Avoid if at all possible.
