Naked Sea was better than some local eateries, but not so noteworthy that you would sing praises. I had a grilled fish sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries. No aioli available for the fries, but the tarter sauce for the fish sandwich was good. When I was there, I was the only patron. Nevertheless, I was glad to find them open since it was a beautiful day and another neighborhood little café was not serving even though it was during their business hours. I presume the other employees or owner wanted to go surfing or something similar. You will not walk away from Naked Sea hungry. And the little street-side patio dining has some charm.

The service was friendly and efficient. The patio dining area was pretty and colorful. But the food… not so good. We had the fish & chips. The fried fish was nothing special, and the whole place smells noticeably of over-heated(or possibly rancid) oil. The fries were OK, so maybe they were cooked in a different oil. The grilled fish was over-seasoned, and because I ordered the Thai cole slaw as a side, the fish was sitting in a puddle of watery slaw dressing. The slaw needs to be served in a separate container. Another reviewer mentioned that when Noi is in the kitchen, the food is great.(I’ve noticed the same is true at Noi’s Little Thai across the street.) I guess we need to find out when Noi will be cooking before we return to either restaurant!

My friend got a gift certificate for Christmas for the Naked Sea restaurant. We decided to give it a try for lunch. We ordered the Seafood Combo. It was very tasty, the calamari was devine! Definitely will come back.

The egg rolls and pad thai were amazing. Food was fresh and homemade. I didn’t try their American food, since all the women in the kitchen were Thai. I was confused on the 2 menus but I bet I choose right.

Okay, my wife and I were hungry, it was one of the few places open the day after Christmas, so we took a chance. Looked over the chalkboard menu and since we weren’t THAT hungry decided to share the seafood platter, and an order of egg rolls in case it wouldn’t be enough. It was more than enough turns out, as everything had all the flavor fried out of it. $ 20(including tip) For a light lunch we couldn’t finish because too much fried, too little flavor, Very disappointed. Shoulda had Thai.

3 stars only for the fish and chips, and coconut shrimp and chips. We have yet to be disappointed with either. Problem is, those are the only regular two items on the menu related to the name«naked sea». More than half of the items on the menu, which are very few as it is, are Tai style food, minus any seafood. The rare changes on their specials board from tuna melt to fish sandwich are the only other seafood related items available. Service is just ok. Yes it’s only a café, but usually being the only ones there, they could stand to be a bit more friendly, very little speaking is the norm. Fewer and fewer people seem to be eating in the patio, not a good sign. We have asked numerous times since they opened to have more seafood items, including seafood tacos and a seafood wrap or burrito. They already have the ingredients, just need some tortillas and there you go! They just seem to refuse to to expand the menu for some reason, we just don’t get it. So again, please add some more fish and shrimp options to the menu to keep our taste buds interested, and we along with others will be stopping in more often! This is a very cute and nice little place, unique and custom décor. Really just need to get more popular items on the menu, and keep the pricing fair too.

When Noi is in the kitchen the food is amazing, but when she is gone, the food is inedible. The first time that we went the fish and chips was so light and so flavorful and when we went back, it was a greasy mess. The cashiers are always so rude and so unhelpful.

My mother and I decided to try this place out for lunch. We are big fans of Noi’s so we figured it would be just as great. We were wrong and sorely disappointed. Cashier was not friendly, and food was nothing special. The slaw had too much ginger in it. Also, they will not give you 1 free refill on Thai iced tea like Noi’s does. Cashier also forgot to give us our drinks until I reminded her and did not restock the cutlery. The only pleasant part of our lunch was the shaded patio.

I was really disappointed by this place. Every time I walked by I was drawn in by the delicious smells so I finally went for lunch and… I ate the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. I really hate saying that, but they were just awful. The fish were heavily fried in generous portions but had absolutely no flavor. If I was blindfolded I don’t think I would have known what I was eating. The fries were even worse, not burnt looking but very burnt tasting and again, NOFLAVOR. They tasted like they had been in a freezer for a year, then fried in old oil and not seasoned or salted at all. I couldn’t even finish them because they were so terrible, and ended up throwing them away. And I never throw fries away. It ended up being over $ 16 for horrible fish and chips and a drink, and I had to douse everything in tartar sauce just to give it some flavor. I have to say though, the tartar sauce was the best thing on the plate by far, it was delicious and I usually don’t like tartar sauce. But they should serve a giant bowl of it with your order to drown out the taste of everything you are eating. Probably won’t be coming back :(

First and last time eating here and extremely disappointed. The fish and chips my friend had looked like they had spent way too much time in the fryer and she didn’t even want to finish them. She said the batter was tasteless and boring. I had the special«garlic shrimp» for 10.95 and got 5 tiny over cooked shrimp with sticky globs of oil saturated tasteless garlic on jasmine rice with no sauce and a side salad that tasted like flowers and had no substance. It was Friday night and literally the place had only 4 of us at a time and now I see why. There was nothing«naked» that I could see about any of the food that came out — all looked deep fat fried. I will be very surprised if this restaurant makes it on it’s own merit. The food was low quality and over priced. The menu is not one that«healthy» eaters will be attracted to.

The Thai soup was somewhat disappointing. This was closer to a veggie soup with coconut milk than to a Tom Kha.

If you ever want Some Noi’s on the weekend, the same owner of Noi’s runs this shop right across the street, and they even make a few dishes from their other restaurant — amazing! Kind and friendly staff!

Naked Sea Café is a welcome addition to Baywood Park and Los Osos. Billed as «Noi’s Second Café», Naked recently opened to complement the much beloved & venerated Noi’s Little Thai Takeout, located kitty corner to Naked in Baywood Park. I love their Thai-infused seafood soup. I can’t wait to go back.

The food is freaking BOMB here. Same owner as Noi’s Thai Take Out. I was trying to go to Noi’s first but it was closed sadly so I went to this place and it happened to be the same owners. I ordered the fish and chips and the teriyaki chicken and was unexpected of how the taste was very delicious. I will definitely come back and tell all my friends and family.

Was actually trying to go to Noi’s Thai takeout and was disappointed they were closed for the holidays. Decided to take a short walk across the street to the Naked Sea café. My niece and nephew ordered fish & chips and teriyaki chicken, I got the beef stew. All the while noticing the menu was American and Thai. All the dishes were amazing and the outside dining area was nice. Wished it was a bit warmer to be outside. We were saying goodbye and an Asian lady from the back kitchen came out. It was actually Noi, very nice lady, told us the history about her restaurants. Will definitely return when in the area.

I took my wife and daughter today for the first time. My wife doesn’t like sea food but she said the fish and chips were the best she had ever had. I have to agree. We went for the clam chowder. The clams were super tender and everything was delicious. What a great patio. Brunch was perfect today.

Noi has a new restaurant in Baywood just steps from Noi’s Little Thai Takeout. She has put her spin on fish and chips and much more. Extremely delish. Noi also offers her eggrolls and Thai noodle dishes here, so if it’s Sunday, when NLTT is closed and you’re jonesing, you’re good. So happy this place is here. Ron has done another fine job of creating an inviting and special place for all us foodies. The interior décor is a tribute to his filmmaker father. Super cool.
