We stopped in here after our Valentine’s Day dinner for a drink. We sat at the bar and were immediately given drink menus and the two bartenders were readily available to give suggestions for beer even though the bar was pretty full. The restaurant had a decent crowd for the evening and complimentary valet service made it extra great so that we didn’t have to keep searching for parking on the streets.

Worst restaurant week experience ever. Checked in at 8:20 for an 8:30 reservations do waited 45min to be seated. They overbooked and could not sit patrons when they had reservations. One the plus side, they have very nice and clean restrooms. You might be able to find a seat there in a reasonable timeframe.

Great restaurant! The pear and gorgonzola salad was delicious, and the soundtrack always kept me guessing. Our server Acadia was well informed and very sweet. Seems like a great place to stop in before heading to a game. Will come back!

I don’t get the low reviews. The service is amazing, the beer is really good, and the bread pudding is my favorite. I guess the beer is a little pricey and the food is just average but other than that I think it’s a great place to have a casual dinner at harbor east. If the food was better I’d garner it a higher review.

Great service, great food! I came here for my friend’s 23rd birthday. I ordered the chicken on the ‘lower calories’ menu with garlic fries and the mashed potato. garlic fries were way too garlicy, but the chicken was very good! you must come for the drinks, the beer is amazing. I also had the cocktails, and the service is absolutely great. we all had great time, I will return!

Im not really sure why I keep coming back to this place. The only thing consistent is inconsistency. I keep praying that the garlic fries will return to how they were when this place first opened. Garlic fries with no garlic and soaked in grease really ticks me off. However, I love the location and the atmosphere. The seats are extremely comfy and will force you to continue sitting well after eating. Even in the bar area you can have a conversation with the person you’re with and still be able to hear yourself think. Plus the bathroom is always immaculate and smells clean. And the service is always wonderful as well. They seem to have a pretty good selection of beer at decent prices but they really need to step there game up with the food. The late night menu has expanded since my last late night visit here and most of the items listed are listed as happy hour prices.

Decided to stop in for dinner after walking along the harbor to see what this place was all about. We were seated quickly for a Saturday evening, and hopeful for what was to come. I ordered the gorgonzola chips as an appetizer, and my wife ordered the yellowfin tuna. Both were great! For dinner, I ordered the beer and mushroom chicken and my wife ordered the beer braised beef tips. We were both hopeful for a great dinner. However; the 2 dinners that appeared at our table were atrocious! My dinner… the chicken, came with 3 tiny pieces, breaded in some nasty egg batter, and the asparagus had all the tops chopped off… cause it had been kept a bit too long, and shouldn’t have even been served! It was old and nasty. And… nooooo mushrooms on the plate at all! My wife had the beef tips. When it came to the table, we both chuckled… because the«beef tips» were no bigger than a dime! They were tiny over cooked pieces of horrible-ness! Needless to say, we didn’t eat more than a few bites. Our waiter was fantastic, and listened to our issues. When the bill came, he had taken the entre’s off… which pleased us. We thanked him for his great service, paid the bill and left. We will not be returning!

I thought I would give Gordon Biersch another try after a horrible food poisoning experience in August, but it’s got great beer and was long a favorite of mine. I was disappointed to discover, however, that problems still abound — though, this time, with the service. The service was astoundingly slow — glasses sat empty for ten minutes, the food took over a half hour to prepare — but most distressing was the restaurant’s handling of a steak order. The steak came out cold, clearly having sat on the counter for some time before being brought to the table. Upon asking for a re-order, the server said it would take 10 minutes; however, nearly 20 minutes later, it was still not ready. The manager made it worse, asking us, «Have you ever cooked a steak?» to justify the slowness of the order. We ended up canceling the order for the steak; however, upon getting the bill, the steak remained(despite it not being eaten and both orders canceled). Eventually we were credited it back, but the whole experience was slow, unfriendly, and made me never want to return. Terrible service from both the server and, unfortunately, the manager as well.

I had lunch here today. It’s right down the street from my office. I like to sit in the bar area, the bartender was very nice. I got the mini brat sliders on the pretzel bread… omg, so good. I would highly suggest you try them if you are in the area!

Let me start by saying I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was cozy yet classy. The food was superior yet reasonable and the servers were attentive and incredibly nice. At one point we were looking through the glass into the kitchen and commenting on how spotless it was. And a server not assigned to our table came out to make sure we didn’t need anything. All employees were great, but Rebekah and Chris were especially wonderful and really made our experience complete. Would highly recommend!

Came here with a friend after attending an event at the Baltimore Marriott hotel. Its a spacious place with an outdoor eating area. There’s a brewery in there so if you are into beer you may enjoy the lists of beers they have. I got the California chicken sandwich and added bacon. It was just average and not enough bacon for the extra $ 1.50. The sandwich came with garlic fries. They were good but I don’t see them as being so famous. I could probably make them myself. My friend got the Marzen wings but she got buffalo sauce instead. She mentioned that they were good and she liked her fries. Overall, the food was average for me. I left full and satisfied. I probably wouldn’t make a trip to go back even if I was in the area but I must say that I really enjoyed their mango sweet tea.

They make delicious beer and food. What more could you want? I enjoy the atmosphere and the menu selections. If you don’t know what kind of beer to try, you can order a flight and sample several different ones. And then, once you find a beer that you like, you can buy a growler of it to take home with you.

I decided to eat here because one time I was walking around harbor east and I seen so many people in the joint! I figure crowded spot good food and boy was I right ! The greeter was nice! She let us pick our table! I love booths!!! Our server was great! He was attentive and had lots of recommendations off of the menu! He even asked if anyone of us had any food allergies! That was a plus for me! Because I do have an shellfish allergy !! I had for starters 2 sliders my grass fed beef burger with Brie cheese and sirloin with caramelized onions and au jus both had homemade chips! My drink was one of his recommendations this margarita with added mango! It was delicious !! And strong! My entrée was beer braised cab sirloin tips with garlic fries!!! oh my God they was so good!!! Tender! Delicious the garlic fries! The fresh garlic! Was FRESH!!! Super fresh! I will be back to try more food!

Great location with basic food. We had the Bourbon Chicken & Kobe Cheeseburger with Calamari as an appetizer. I would have given this one star less except for the great Al Fresco dining. The chicken was bland and flavorless. Sweet potato fries were not bad but have tasted better many other times. The Kobe burger was grilled as per request and was very acceptable. However, the asparagus was anemic at best at did not have much going for it. We tried this place because I wanted to taste some new beer selections but several dark beers were not available. Not what I had expected for selections. Service was nice and food was served in normal time. Best recommendation I gave give is try this place if you have run out of other selections in the Harbor East area to eat.

We decided to mosey on over here to further enjoy the beautiful evening in downtown Baltimore. As we had eaten before arriving, we decided to have a seat at the bar and order a cocktail. The server who came over informed us that the table and seats we occupied, closely located around the perimeter of the bar, were for guests that servers seated. I informed them that the hostess at the front instructed us to take any available seats in the bar area and these were in the bar area and if it was a problem, we could move. They assured us it was not, and promptly informed us that our server would be with us. What was that about? Any woo, we were greeted by Stephanie, a pleasant young lady. As we inquired about what cocktail to order, she suggested the peach martini($ 9), which we happily abliged to. It was good, sweet and strong… not a bad combination. We then decided to order the blue crab and artichoke dip with grilled crositni bread and pita chips($ 10). It was mediocre and a little thin for my taste and in dire need of Old Bay, additional crab and artichoke, which was nonexistent. It should have been called the«absent blue crab, trace of artichoke and in need of Old Bay dip». For real. Other than that, the atmosphere was great. They have outdoor seating as well, but it was full when we arrived. As l went to the restroom, the restaurant had plenty of seating and towards the rear there was an open kitchen viewing, which l really liked. In all fairness, the next l visit, l ‘ll come to dine and post another review of that experience.

Ordered a California Burger medium rare and it came out either still frozen in the middle or extremely cold. It wasn’t really an ideal situation, just wanted to grab a bite on my lunch break, so I just ate around the middle since I knew I wouldn’t have time to order another. The waitress recognized right away that I didn’t care for it and acknowledged it was in fact almost completely uncooked. She was apologetic and polite which was nice. Disappointed since chains are usually consistent and a safe bet for a time crunch.

Came here for the first time on my b-day and I had an okay night but wasn’t that impressed. We arrived sometime around 10:30-ish I think so we had to order off the late night menu. Got the«famous» garlic fries and chicken wings. Honestly, from all of the reviews hyping up these fries I was expecting alot but they unfortunately fell short. They weren’t stale or cold or anything like that, just wished they had more seasoning besides a ton of garlic. Didn’t like the chicken wings at all. The drinks were definitely on fleek though. If I go back, I am heading straight to the bar to get a Lemon Drop made by Mike.(Mike if you read this, MARRYME) Best Lemon Drop I’ve had in a minute. Three drinks, 4 shots, and a stomach full of garlic later, I went home and passed out. I’ll probably be back but only to get drinks with friends.

I’ve been here twice and was not disappointed either time. My first visit was for lunch and I had a burger and fries. The portions were very generous and my taste buds were pleased. The second time was for dinner. I got a beer, which is brewed on site by my brother, and it was delicious. I had a steak and a baked potato. I usually stick with simple things, but everything was cooked and flavored to perfection. I plan to visit again soon.

I work really close to here, so its hard not to have this be a weekly local for me! Gordon Biersch is a great large scale american style restaurant. Much better than average for such a large chain. Expect large portions(unless you get the flap bread — that’s a light lunch), unlimited soda refills and a huge variety of price points and a somewhat large menu. Burgers(which are great) range from 10 – 14 dollars, and entrees range from 20 – 30. You can opt for the 13 – 14 Kobe burger or the regular one — I haven’t noticed a huge difference and have enjoyed both. There is a huge amount of seating — so this can be a great place for a large group. The staff always seems to have fun interacting with the customers. A nice touch that this local has done is to have an incredible loyalty program. They actually have two. One is based on how much you spend. When you hit a certain amount, you get a free appetizer. The other one gives you a free burger or sandwich after you purchase a certain number. Check with the waiter for details, but its fairly generous. Lastly — and this is pretty cool — they sell growlers. I haven’t tried it yet, but did get to see my coworkers growler — and it really is a high quality one. Its $ 15 for the growler, + the price of beer — but you can get it refilled, which will save money in the long run. This a great idea for your next poker game.

As a beer fan I enjoy GB for its brews, but I get a little confused by a place serving German beers with a German name that serves virtually no German food. But whatever, it’s a chain. This place has a lot of potential thanks to its Harbor East location and wonderful outdoor seating area, but every time I’ve gone I’ve had poor service and faced an overly crowded bar. The food is okay, but just that: okay. Nothing to write home about. If anything, go for a game and order the garlic fries and a beer. You won’t be disappointed with those, but I can’t honestly recommend anything further and, with so many other locations in Baltimore offering their own beers(or a number of local microbrews) and excellent food, I would think you’re better off elsewhere.

I came here a couple nights ago for happy hour with friends. Its a chain, which isn’t always a bad thing but worth noting. The drinks were inconsistent. There was something off about my strawberry mojito that I can’t quite put my finger on. The Hampton’s tea was absolutely delicious though. It was basically a peach Long Island and I would have easily had 3 or 4 if I wasn’t driving. The food options on the happy hour menu are limited: fries(garlic or sweet potato), fried artichokes, hummus platter, baja tacos, calamari, crab & artichoke dip, and a couple of slider platters. I opted for the taco and garlic fries. The flavor of the tacos were good but a little lacking on the fish. The«famous» garlic fries were nothing to write home about. Not fresh, hand cut potatoes or anything but the garlic and herb topping is fresh and tasty nonetheless. I’d go back to try the beers and have a few Hampton’s teas, but it wouldn’t be a go to spot for happy hour when there are places nearby with better food and cheaper drinks.
