Gidget’s Pizza & Pasta

Yesterday’s dining experience was absolutely superb! It began with the house dinner salad with the house dressing. The veggies were fresh and well presented. The house dressing was an olive oil and herb mixture that was just the right blend. My only suggestion would be to serve the in-​house guests with a half to ¾ full ramekin of dressing instead of using a plastic to-​go cup with a lid. Perhaps use the same ramekin as the marinara sauce with the bread sticks.
Oh, and speaking of bread sticks, these should be noted as some of the best bread sticks I can ever remember having! Oh my word! They melt in your mouth with just the right amount of crunch! The marinara they’re served with is a perfect compliment to the herbs and topped with fresh parmesan cheese. (Check in with Unilocal to get a free order while you’re at it!)
For the main course, I ordered the Spaghetti al la MC. This was a light angel hair pasta topped with 2 meaty meatballs (no perceived filler here!), an Italian sausage link, sautéed mushrooms, sautéed red and green pepper, a dose of marinara and mozzarella cheese. It was served piping hot with two pieces of garlic toast. Not only was the flavor out of this world, but the portion size was substantial to say the least. This is a dish to share with your date, or, if dining alone, plan to take half of the bread sticks and main course home for another meal. On the other hand, if you’ve been fishing all day or actively enjoying a full day at the beach, this would be about right with a robust glass or three of a full-​bodied Italian red.
In addition to the outstanding food, the wine list is quite large. There appear to be over 70 wines and at least 30 beers to choose from. With the variety of offerings, I have no doubt that almost anyone kind find a suitable adult beverage to their liking.
Finally, when you walk in or call ahead, ask for Sarah. Her unpretentious personality fits very well with this comfortable beach town, yet she is highly responsive to the needs of her diners. The level of service she provided along with a very personable and comfortable demeanor help to put the best in final touches to this outstanding dining experience!

Stopped in for some munchies and a beer on 10−09−15. Brochette was fantastic as was the tomato topper. Place has 73 types of wine by the glass and a fair selection of beer on tap and individual containers. Bar tender was a local and was slow to warm up but really came through in the end. Nice inviting ambiance overall. Pricing was moderate but well worth it. Others in our group ate the pizza and said it was wonderful. Would like to go back and try the pizza to confirm! Best.

Amazing quality pizzas, fresh ingredients you can taste and the breadsticks were up there with the best I’ve had. Hand tossed crust as well. This is the place for pizza on the outerbanks

Good service. Greek pizza with yummy crust, calzone, and arugula salad with prosciutto. Mid afternoon had a nice crowd. Definitely a place to come back to.

Best pizza in Avon hands down! Only had the pizza so can’t speak on any other dishes. Great to have a close place to grab a quick pie to go… Highly recommend

We ordered a Deluxe for take-​out. The woman on the phone took our call quickly and courteously. She told us our order would be ready for pick-​up in 30 minutes, we arrived precisely 30 minutes after our call and everything was ready to go, so their speedy/​timely service was a huge plus.
Pizza was tasty, veggies were fresh and pepperoni and sausage were pretty standard. Lots of cheesy, melty goodness. It was a nice change to have pizza out here after days of seafood. When we come back next year, we will most likely grab a pie here again. Thank you Gidget’s!

Very good pizza, very cool atmosphere, friendly service. We split a cannoli and took one home.
As an aside, are all the local brews from NC weak? I’ve been so disappointed in all the ones offered on tap at the OBX. I’d rather drink something local than be forced to go to something mainstream.

After a long day of sightseeing, ordered pizza from Gidgets to feed the family. The pizza was probably the best I have had in Avon. It did not change my world but I would definitely order again. Pricing was fair.

Delivery was fast and the food was delicious! We had a lizza, spaghetti and meatballs, and garlic sticks. And a calzone. High quality food and better than the other pizza i have tasted in the area!

We visited this place based on Unilocal reviews when we were visiting Outerbanks and we were not disappointed.
You could tell this was a favorite of locals and tourists based on the crowd and wait. We didn’t mind waiting.
The pizza was excellent and so was the pasta (fettuccine Alfredo). We had the summer salad which was delicious. The décor is that of a upscale sports bar. The service was great and everyone was very friendly.
This wasn’t anything novel but there something to say about a solid pizza place and this was definitely that!

Total chaos. Customers can’t order in the sequence they arrive. 60 — 90 minutes to order two large pizzas. Never ate it to determine if it’s worth the wait but the customer service sucked ass!

GREAT pizza.
Extensive collection of pizzas a and can custom build your pie. Pasta dishes are very good. Lots of wine to try but since I do not drink wine I can not comment on that. Service is very attentive and prices are on point as well.

Quick delivery and delicious pizzas! The antipasto salad was large and was jam packed with meats.
Highly recommend the South of the Border pizza, it was a little spicy but the avocado balanced it out.

Pizza was great. If we lived here, this would be our go to pizza place.
Everything we ordered was delicious; arugula salad, breadsticks, pizzas, pasta dishes. With the exception of my brothers order, the Spaghetti a la MC (sausage had zero flavor to it… none. It was very odd.) everyone really enjoyed their meal.
We also got free breadsticks from checking in.

Cute little place, very reasonable prices, especially considering the touristy area it is in. Our pizza was great and the free breadsticks with a check-​in offer was a nice bonus. I would definitely eat here the next time we are at the OBX.

Selected this location from the high Unilocal review and we weren’t disappointed! We rate out every night if our trip on vacation and this was by far the best food we had and the lest expensive.
Pro: food was great, just pizza, salads and subs but they were great and much better than any $ 30 seafood plate we had the entire week
Con: none really, service was a little slow and they ran out of the beer I was drinking but every place in this area has ran out of the beer I was drinking

Best pizza in Avon, NC. The sauce had a sweet taste to it. Awesome. Tried another pizza place in the area. This place is hands down very tasty! Wish I could have tried more.

Never thought I would have the best pizza and calzone in my life in Avon of all places. This place was one of the most memorable stops during my vacation.
Had a calzone and pepperoni pizza here, absolutely fantastic crust, flavors, you name it.
The fact that they had a great wine selection made this a definite 5 star place for me.
