One of the only spots open in Avon during the off season. Go to the bar and have a beverage and some steamed shrimp, hopefully Julie will be at the bar because she is the reason we keep coming back here! Excellent and friendly service!

Great service, good food served quickly and bonus, this is one of the few places in the Avon/Buxton area that is open year-round.

Visiting from Calif and Az. This restaurant was clean and the staff were very nice and they were short two people but they handled it well. We were a party of six and ordered seafood and some salads. The food was good and large portions. Prices were reasonable, also. I only gave 3 stars because it is a small space but we were comfortable enough.

While touring the area we stopped here for lunch based upon T/A reviews and were very glad we did. Everything we ordered, including sides, was either very good or excellent, and prices are very fair for the quality of the food. Steamed clams app’s were tender and tasty. The grilled Mahi sandwich was a standout. The Mahi was moist, tender and very flavorful, served on a fresh bun with all the fixin’s. The fish and chips was a single large filet lightly coated with a thin crispy crust with plenty of fresh flavor. Fries and homemade chips were very good as was the coleslaw. Service could not have been friendlier, and they have a decent beer list with many at special prices. Kind of a can’t miss joint that is so nice to find.

Had a great breakfast here with the kids. Jake the waiter was very attentive and the crab Benedict was delicious. I had the Santa Fe omelet and it was extremely flavorful. This was our first visit, but we will definitely be back!

We have eaten here many times & have never experienced this kind of service. We arrived here & were seated right away. We waited 15 minutes until we even saw our waitress to place our drink order. Took another 20 minutes to to get our drinks. Once we received our drinks we placed our dinner order. While we waited for our dinner we watched four other parties be seated & served. One hour &15 minutes after arriving our food arrived. Yay! Nope!!! Everything was ice cold. That was the last straw. We asked to speak to a manager three times before we were told there was no manager on duty. We asked for our drink bill and they comped them. We left & went to Ketch 55. Had wonderful service & hot food. Highly recommend Ketch 55.

Stopped in on 10−10−15 for lunch. Physical location was upscale and inviting. I ordered a Rueban with coleslaw which was very nice. Seems like it is a locals place as the season in wrapping up in OBX and the place was pretty full. All in our party enjoyed the food and it included oyester sandwiches, chef salad, hamburger with fries and fish tacos. Service was good and the waitress was attentive and efficient. Would like to go back. Best.

SLOW service. Waitress took our drink order then came back ten minutes later asking if we wanted to order drinks. Umm … we already did. Took almost 45 minutes to get our food(shrimp and a cheesegurger). Not sure what kind of cheese they put on the burger. To me it tasted like bathroom cleaner. My husband could not identify it. Never again.

This was my favorite place in Avon, not all for the food but the absolutely OUTSTANDING service. We came twice, once for breakfast and once sitting at the bar for .65 wings and $ 2 Yuengling Bottles, can’t beat that. The watiress for breakfast was great, friendly and on the spot with everything. I got the biscuits and gravy and they were very good. HUGE chunks of sausage in there. It wasn’t terribly hot and may have been under the heat lamp too long while the other meals came out. But, very good nonetheless. For the time at the bar, the bartender was so sweet and bubbly. She constantly had a smile on her face. She was training another girl who was an absolute doll. She was busting my chops for not finishing my wings, I love that. For 11 beers, hush puppies and 20 wings(don’t judge me, my wife was there too!) I paid $ 40 plus tip… for me that is outstanding! By far this was my favorite place in Avon to eat and hang out. It had the most amount of normal people at the bar too. The only downside is that breakfast doesn’t open until 8.

We arrived @ 5:45pm and there was already a half hour wait. We found out why. There were five of us and we all had a different entrees. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. I had the seafood pasta, which was loaded with tuna, scallops and shrimp and a very creamy sauce. The prime rib was very tender. It was the best meal we had on our vacation. I will dine here again when we return

This place isn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. Service was sub par and inattentive, but I’m a bit forgiving because we had a big party. The nachos we had were eh, maybe it’s because it’s the first time I had it with seafood. The best part of the whole experience was the dinner entre. Had salmon with mac and cheese and baked potatoe which was pretty good. My girl got the ahi tuna dish and both seafood entrees were on point. I’d recommend going for a nice bite, but if you’re a big party stay away. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of staff on hand to cater to too many tables.

Great food! Had buffalo wings and ribs, excellent! Staff was friendly and despite being really busy got our food relatively quickly. The only issue we had was the volume. It.was.very.loud. Cool décor and great food. Recommended as long as you’re ok with loud restaurants!

Food was excellent! Server was great! It took a little too long to get our food, and it was very loud in the restaurant. I had the crab eggs Benedict and it was amazing! I would deff have it again! My wife got a sausage and egg biscuit with some grits and they too were very good! Overall I would absolutely return!

The food was mediocre and the service was horrible. The waitress looked at me like I had two heads when important ordered nachos with only cheese on them and she also looked at me like I had two heads when I ordered Planters punch drink. She was also arguing with her manager because she was angry that she wasn’t getting larger table tables and more people. We were a party of five. As far as the food goes, I ordered tuna and it was very very overcooked !My husband did enjoy his crabcake but overall I would not go back

This place is the Cheers of Avon, NC. $ 1PBR and if you guess the card under the cap correctly, it’s completely free. They have specials every night. The main one worth checking out is the wings, since they’re actually quite good, particularly the dry rub. The tacos are pretty average, but are cheap. The ribs are not great. Check out the insane nacho platter. I’ve never had any of the non-special food because I think it’s a bit high priced. Go sit at the bar, order a PBR and get some wings. You’ll have a good time.

This place was recommended, so we tried it out. Easy to find… easy parking… and a friendly welcome. Was told they do breakfast, so after photographing the beach sunrise, we went here… about 7am. Closed! Boo Found out breakfast starts for them at 8am. Went back for brunch a few days later. Glad we did. I got eggs Benedict with ham. It was super delicious. The restroom was interesting with all the purses and shoes nailed to the wall. I thought… maybe it was symbolic of tossing the dress clothes and grabbing the flip flops to head to the beach… or maybe if you lost your shoes or purse, they had some readily available:)… But when I asked the server, she said, «nah, it’s just décor».

My local friends’ advice: come early for dinner, because it fills up quickly! We came on a Saturday night(the day that tourists check in or check out of their rental houses) at 5pm to beat the crowd and were seated in no time. My friend and I split the Seafood nachos($ 13) appetizer. I know – you’re thinking, 2 people split an appetizer? I was initially skeptical but understood why my friend insisted that we split the plate when the food arrived. The nachos came out on a large plate overflowing with chips, melted gooey cheese, creamy sauce, and seafood(shrimp, scallops, fish). This dish is the best bang for your buck! The sauce was so so good. I dipped some fries in it to soak it all up. My husband ordered the ribs special of the day with a side of fries($ 9) because he wanted to take a break from eating seafood, and my other local friend ordered popcorn shrimp with a side of fries(his favorite). Each shrimp is sizeable and I stole a couple of their fries, which were crispy on the outside and thick-cut. My husband enjoyed his ribs, but the portion was slightly smaller than he expected. Great service and delicious food! Just make sure to come early enough to grab a table!
