Even on a cold, windy day in early March, this place was hopping!
THE FOOD: I had one of the best sandwiches of my life here. After getting some helpful tips from the super friendly staff, I settled on the quinoa burger «cowboy style» — with sriracha bbq sauce, Gouda, melty pepperjack, peppered bacon, lettuce, and tomato. The flavor was out of this world! Tangy and slightly spicy. The bun was perfectly chewy and held all the amazing ingredients together perfectly. The quinoa patty itself was healthy, moist, and flavorful — I almost forgot I was eating a veggie burger! My companion had the cheesesteak sandwich, which he said had high quality beef and rich flavor, but still didn’t feel too heavy. I had a bite and it was great!
THE SERVICE: The woman who helped us was super friendly and helpful, even when I was indecisive about what to order. She was knowledgable about what the most popular options were (based on tripadvisor and Unilocal,the Cali club is a fave), but also let me know which ones she personally loves and how the chef likes to customize them. The food came out perfectly in under 5 minutes.
THE AMBIANCE: Clean and cool vibe. Not too many table, so I’m sure it gets packed in the high season.
I’m someone who likes to have as much seafood as I can when at the beach, but I would still stay that you must stop by Bros if you are in the area!

Very helpful counter person. Explained everything, and help my wife make a meal without bread.

This place was truly amazing! I have celiac disease and they were very knowledgeable about the gluten free world. I called in my order and they assured me my food would be cooked separately. I really appreciate the extra effort so that I could enjoy their amazing food like everyone else. It means a lot! Thank you thank you thank you! We will see you next year for sure!

Great steak sandwiches, quality local beers, all together a great experience. They have a weird rule about only being able to open beers inside. Which was funny, but you can still enjoy outside.

Super friendly staff, and the sandwiches are great. Plus their fries are excellent! Would recommend the bro bag special as a great deal for two. I’ve also tried their Philly cheese steak, which is really big, high quality food for a decent price.

Wow!!! We traveled through Avon on the way back to our RV from Hatteras light house. We stopped in and had dinner. The menu is pricey 9.99 for a burger with no sides, but after eating it I would gladly have paid 15.00. The sauces they make are incredible. They explain the menu as soon as you walk in and are super helpful. My only issue was I think for a 10.00 burger it should have Atleast 2 slices of bacon instead of 1. When I mentioned it to the guys they gladly fixed it. I will for sure be back, this place is great. My wife ordered the French dip and it was amazing as well, she had the sweet potato fries and they were great. Thank you guys for great food and great service, don’t let it change.

Really impressed with this place. Burgers are killer. Great service. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back. Also, NC craft beers $ 3 a bottle.

We love Bros! It has been added to our very short to– do list in the outer banks. I dream of the Cali club! The chicken is always so juicy and the avocado ranch is ridiculous. Waffle fries are super tasty. Service is always great. Local beers for cheap. Really what is not to love? I know some people feel like it’s expensive but you get what you pay for. And it’s always really good.

By far my favorite spot in the Outer Banks. They sure do know how to cater to gluten-​free customers as well. Grabbed a chicken sandwich protein style with a side of their sweet potato fries — yum! Perfect meal to grab after a day on the beach. The service was surprisingly quick too, even with the line out the door!

Of all the «dining» options in Avon, NC this place ranks as the best by a landslide.
The cowboy burger was outstanding, as well as the waffle fries. They ground their meat fresh daily as well as making their own sauces, pickles, etc. The burger meat itself was ok, not absolutely amazing, but decent. They cook only one temperature which I think can mask flavor. I would put it at a step above Five guys. Overall a tasty burger but nothing mind blowing.
The place is a little overpriced for what it is. The burger itself was $ 9.99 and came with no side, the fries are cheap but for $ 10 that burger isn’t good enough to stand alone at that price point. For 2 burgers, one order of fries, and 2 fountain sodas it was over $ 30. Not in this hood Bros.
While it is good, it is not some place you want to eat every day on vacation mostly because of the price point.
Service was excellent and friendly.

Absolutely fantastic!
Before I get to the food part, it’s worth mentioning that the couple running the place are very friendly and welcoming. It’s also worth stressing how clean and cute the inside is.
Now to the food: fresh, simple, lovely! We had the Chicken BroBQ and the Roast beef sandwiches. They were mouthwatering.
We added sweet potato waffle fries that were the crispest, least oily and tastiest I’ve ever had.
Prices if you wonder, are very fair.
Hands down, an awesome place!

Great place to have sandwiches and burgers. Not far from the Hatterras Lighthouse. Very casual and friendly. Meats on sandwiches had good flavor and were seasoned well. We had the Philly and Cali Club, with an order of mini-​sliders for our son. Also the cole slaw and fries were tasty accompaniments!

Wow! Delicious food and amazing service. These guys KILLED it!!! I can see why they are rated one of the top 5 restaurants in the Outer Banks. We stopped by on our return from Ocracoke to Duck. I cannot wait for the return trip next year!

My BF and I wanted something quick but good! After walking a gazillion stairs to see the light house, I definitely was ready to chow down on something quick but good, so we could head back and hang out at the beach! Bros Sand which Shack hit the spot! We shared the pork sandwich and the chicken sandwich. The waitress, I forgot her name :(She was soo helpful. She mentioned a couple of spots to hit up! Every place she recommended, we tried and was awesome! They are such nice people and very helpful!
Everything is made in house, the sauces that are made, is what makes the sandwhich soo good! The waffle fries were amazing and to top it off, they had some great local beer… Carolina Blonde! my fav! I am sad they do not sell it in VA.
Def a place to hit up if you are in OBX — great local spot, with amazing sandwhiches and beer :)

I have to admit, when I first saw the prices I assumed it was going to be another tourist trap type shop, I was immediately proven wrong.
The staff was fantastic, incredibly pleasant and engaging. The cashier/​server offered menu suggestions and was incredibly attentive to every customer in the shop. The owner was equally as attentive and pleasant, who you could tell had both passion and pride for the food he was sending out.
Now for the food-​worth EVERY SINGLE penny. All of our menu items were savory and full of flavor. The burgers were cooked through but still incredibly juicy. The chicken sandwiches were moist and the vegetables on the chicken Philly were cooked but crisp. The sides are extra but are worth it.
The shop also features four beers from Foothills Brewing Company out of Winston Salem, NC. We had the People’s Porter and the Carolina Blonde. Good beers, simple and refreshing.
We will definitely be stopping in again before we leave.

If you are planning a visit to Cape Hatteras light house or within 25 miles of this place, you must give them a try, this place needs to be either your lunch or dinner stop. I had the cowboy burger. It is basted in siricha BBQ with pepper jack smoked gouda and thick peppered bacon. I normally do not go for hot or spicy but was assured it was sweet with a little bit of a kick, nothing that a cold coors light couldn’t extinguish. Be prepared to use a lot of napkins. These burgers are juicy. But OMG they are so good. Had the side of Cole slaw. Also excellent. My wife went with the Big Bro, your standard cheese burger, she also got the sweet potato fries which were amazing. Service was very quick and friendly. Give this place a try, I am so glad I did. There is seating both inside and outside.

I was initially a little turned off by the price. $ 9 for a burger is kind of becoming the norm, but these didn’t come with a side or anything. That’s pretty steep.
I had the cowboy bro, a pretty standard bacon cheeseburger. But holy cow man, the sriracha bbq sauce! The sriracha bbq sauce!!! I think I could drink this stuff. It was on my burger, I dunked my burger in it, i licked it off my fingers, I even thought about pouring it in my Yuengling.
The atmosphere at this place is a little lacking. It’s the beach, open a window or something!
However, I would definitely come back. It’s genuinely amazing the development that has happened in Avon and this is one of the shining stars.

I got the big bro, which is their burger. They grind the meat there, and I added bacon to it and pretty much everything else you could put on it. It was a very tasty burger. I like the fries too. Everyone here is so nice as well. Go try them out!

Nice owners who care about the food they serve and your opinion. Burgers are very good, if not a little on the greasy side. Flavor and size is right-​on, though. Great beef! A friend had the French Dip and said it was also very good.
Ingredients are clearly fresh and the rolls are great. A specialty burger or a burger with a couple toppings will end up costing you $ 10-​$ 12. The sides are $ 2, I think, and are kind of small. Most burger toppings are $ 1 or $ 1.50 other the Lettuce, Tom, Pickle and raw onion which come with your burger (sauteed onions are $ 1 which I thought was unnecessary as they are pretty easy to grill with the burger and are free at most places.) Pickles are crisp and made fresh in house.
Will definitely be back. Gourmet burgers are *in* and the beach needs a place like this! I think they are in the works for beer and/​or a BYOB license which will make this the perfect place to run into after a long day on the water. Beer, burger… all they need are wings!
