We ordered the bbq chicken and the steak & blue and this was the worst pizza we have ever eaten. We were very hungry when we walked in so we tried to make the best of it. I took just a few bites of each and my husband ate a whole piece of each but we had to give it up it was so bad. My husband and I both had abdominal pain for hours after we left. I would never eat here again.

Picking your own ingredients is as good as it gets. Especially when compared to those«other guys». Love the casual ambience. Happy about the service as well.

Can we address the super chilly air temperatures first? My hands are ice cold– and while it’s an unusually hot winter, keeping the AC at below freezing is a bit much. Are all the workers going through menopause or they hate customers hanging out? Jeeeebus I am FRUUUEeeeeezing!!! The place is pretty empty. I wanted MOD pizza, but passed the exit on Riverside. Drats. Kid wanted pizza, so we decide to try this out. She gets the generic cheese pizza. It has lots of red sauce. It’s okay. Kinda like school lunch pizza. Not really something you crave, but you can eat it. I get a pineapple, spinach, garlic pizza with garlic oil sauce. Is it bomtastic blowing up in my mouth? No. It’s average, almost like frozen pizza. Since the prices reflect frozen pizza– I’m not upset. I think the crust seems to have a built in burnt taste, cause it’s not black anywhere. Liquid smoke is a huge no no in BBQ– so playing with enhancements in food, just isn’t advisable. If choosing little pizzas that are individualized, are your thing– try it out. However MOD pizza does this better with a fresher crust. If you have a million little kids– 3.99 a kids meal is a steal! Eat here. If you are at home– get Digiornios. Craving killer pizza? Not here my friends.

Maddio Mondays — 9 inch, 3 topping pizza for 5.99.(Regularly 6.99). Cool concept & friendly staff. Love the high top booths. Pizza is mediocre at best. There are better places around, but for a quick and personalized pizza, this place does it’s job.

Custom pizza for cheap. I love that they have whole wheat crust and you can choose not to have cheese. For those who are lactose intolerant, this is huge. I ordered whole wheat crust, no cheese, spicy sausage, banana peppers and purple onion. This place is good and not over priced and it’s close to our house. We will definitely be coming back. Oh, and free cannolis all day Friday. My husband and I Love this place.

Dear Uncle Madio, I am not sure why I keep letting you do this to me. Was I such a bad customer? Three of the four times I have been in to eat with you I’ve been disappointed. Most recently today but not anymore. I think you make a descent salad and the price of your lite lunch special is great but it comes at a cost. I did not realize when I ordered my little pizza extra crispy that it meant it was going to be served up burnt. I mean ashes burnt, not just dark brown or blackened but ASHES burnt. This little pizza should have never made it to my table. I should not have to ask that it be remade. No No No. I hereby divorce you from the family. Like it says on your door. Ciao Maddio.

I think this is probably the first review I’ve ever bothered to write. It was that bad. Pizza was fine. Staff was friendly, but utterly incompetent. Took roughly 30 minutes for my medium pizza to come out. There was only one person in front of me who ordered a salad and breadsticks. I watched as a trainee was instructed how to make the breadsticks. Was told to put finger over the olive oil bottle opening to shake it up and get all the herbs off the bottom. She then tried to put the oil on the bread with her finger STILLOVERTHEOPENING! The trainer had to freaking tell her to move her finger! I should have walked out right then. Pretty sure the cashier possibly charged the person twice. She took the card for payment messed around on the register, then had to explain to someone else how to make the salad, handed the card back to the customer, only to ask for payment a few seconds later??? During my 30 minute plus wait I was delivered 2 plates that were for the person that ordered in front of me. Had to point out where she was to the employee so she could get her food. Saw two people who ordered after me have to send their food back for something. And one girl hand to send her to-go order back to be boxed. When I finally had enough I went to inquire about my pizza and everyone was very apologetic, it was out a few minutes later only to have to be returned to get put in a to go box, as ordered. This was a Saturday night about 7:30 probably a time they should be ready to do business. Especially considering the lack of people there at the time I ordered the debacle was unacceptable. Seemed like there was nobody in charge, or if they were they were very wet behind the ears. No matter how good the pizza is(probably 3 stars) I can’t imagine this place lasting long with a somewhat difficult to get to location and horrendous service. Steer clear unless your wanting to have multiple drinks waiting and don’t really care if your food comes out as ordered. Way things are right now it just isn’t worth it.

After passing by this location, and contemplating trying it out, we decided to try it, based off of other Unilocal reviews. The place had a decent atmosphere, and good music playing. It was not at all crowded, and there was only one person in line ahead of us to order. I forgot something in the car, so I left her to place our order. I returned in, from the trek across the lot, and she still hadn’t ordered. I went to the bathroom, and returned, and she was just starting the ordering process. This had to be around 10min, though I wasn’t timing, because I didn’t anticipate the issue. Apparently, the customer ahead of us, was a tad bit difficult. LoL! Our Greek salad arrived fresh to our table, but I was immediately disappointed with the quantity of iceberg lettuce it had. Besides that, it was crisp, and fresh, with good flavor. Our pizza arrived a little bit after, and was incorrect. We returned it to the counter, and was advised that they would correct it right away. They had also run out of an ingredient we ordered, but failed to advise us of that, while ordering. :-/They were very apologetic, and offered us free Cannolis, for our trouble. The new pizza arrived fresh, and had good flavor. The wheat crust was a nice option, and prepared great. The tomato basil sauce tastes fresh, but was lacking a certain pizazz, that I like. Couldn’t put my finger on it exactly. Still good!!! We will most likely return another time, and I anticipate a solid 4 stars being easily attainable, without the issues we had in this visit.

Being from NY, I’m kinda a pizza snob butttttt Uncle Maddio’s is quite delicious! The 9″ Big Max was plenty of food for two meals and I look forward to coming back to try more! Also, they have nutritional info on their website which is nice for those of us keeping track of what they eat! Wahoooo… may make this a weekly stop haha

For someone like me that can’t eat pizza at a normal establishment, this place is FREAKIN awesome! They: have gluten free crust, over 15 veggie toppings and delish Tofu for protein! Not just regular Tofu, but they actually did something to it to make it taste good. Now onto the non gluten free crust. It is hand made and my husband’s pizza looked so good. He ate the bbq pizza with chicken on top and vegan(diaya) cheese. Now I would say watch the as they make your pizza, they still make mistakes if you don’t watch them. So might seem rude, but it’s not. Now the pricing: Freakin cheap. be more detailed. I will. GF pizza(which is big): $ 8.99 w/4 toppings Reg Pizza: $ 6.99 for small, and up from there They have side salads are big and $ 2.99 and up I have seen a family with a Large pizza and it is huge. My husband and I with 2 pizzas, 2 side salads and 2 teas were a little over $ 25.00 bucks. Which is awesome. I think my husband has plans to go back tonight for pizza too :) So go there and support this place… I need it to stay open!

I’ve been a loyal fan since they’ve open and I must say, There is a mighty change that I can see going on, When I dine in. You can tell the suits are runnin rampant Not to sure if business is falling apart but, The eerie fake happiness that the managers and gms and big wigs show here is just so robotic, I’ve noticed changes to the menu to the tips being taken off for the poor employees who I’m sure just wanna work. As a south Austin food fan, I can tell you this place won’t be around very long, Its just another real estate owner with money trying to buy into a business they have no knowledge on The reviews on this place as just kiss ass to the owner of the establishment, New faces, no heart, Not feeling welcomed anymore as a customer who has been eating here since opening. I feel cheated, and don’t bribe me with free pizza, idc about that Sometimes u just have to ask yourself. … …is the brand worth the money. …and just close shop

Being able to order exactly what you want is nice, and they have a good assortment of sauces, cheeses, and toppings. Reasonable prices, too. I ordered a whole wheat crust with tomato basil sauce, mozzarella, pineapple, pepperoni, and mushrooms, extra crispy crust. DH had traditional crust and more meat. Both were good, hot, fresh tasting, tasty crunchy crust, and the toppings were generous and good quality. Clean, attractive décor, extremely friendly staff(especially Chelsea). I admit it was customer appreciation week and she gave us free cookies, but they definitely deserve 4 stars even without cookie bribes :) Will return.

I think chain is gonna kick off a new approach to pizza. I have read some of the reviews and I too would liken this to Chipotle or Freebirds but my initial thought was Subway. The ordering process is like Subway and Chipotle. Step up. Pick your bread type. Pick your sauce. Walk down the cafeteria style line and choose your toppings. They bake it. Its simple. Its personal and its exactly what you want! I really enjoyed mine. The crust was good. It wasnt a typical chain restaurant style crust. It tasted homemade and tasted like crust you would want to make. I think the traditional is a mix of white flour and yellow corn meal or corn flour. The atmosphere is modern, upscale(for a pizza place) and clean looking. Nice variety of beers. Many I have never heard of before.

Ok I will admit it … pizza is probably my favorite food and ice cream too. But anyway back to pizza … when there is a new spot to check I try to do everything I can to get there. Sometimes it is hard because my loved one I spend most of my time is pretty particular about pizza and doesn’t really care for it like I do. So the best time to do this is when I am not in his presence. Today I decided to hit this place up on my lunch break at work as it is just around the corner basically. I am glad I made that decision. When I walked in it reminded me of another pizza place I had recently visited in Fort Worth(haven’t reviewed it yet) but it has the Subway concept I would say. You choose your dough, your sauce and toppings and truck on down the line. At the end you pay and they give you a number. They then deliver the pizza to you when it is fresh out of the oven. I ordered my usual — pepperoni, canadian bacon and pineapple. Have I mentioned that pineapple on pizza is one of the best things on earth … well it is! I absolutely hate when a pizza place does not have pineapple on the menu. It actually makes me really upset. Luckily Uncle Maddio knows and understands that pineapple is important to a pizza and had it on the toppings list. I also happened to eye these gorgeous chunky chocolate chip cookies in the line and knew I had to have one of those. It was called the Love cookie I later discovered. I also got a drink. For my personal size pizza, cookie and drink it was $ 11. I am ok with that price … I did splurge on the $ 2 cookie. When the employee came over to deliver my pizza to my table it looked great. Better than I expected actually. I let it cool off a bit, then dived right in. I loved how the crust was not too thick and it was cooked well. All the toppings were delicious and the sauce was great too! My cookie was so chunky and delicious! I liked how the shape was like a star. I am not sure if that is on purpose, but they are definitely not perfectly round cookies. While I was at my table there was a gentleman going around to the tables — looked like the manager and he was asking us if there was anything we needed, how everything was and if we needed a drink refill. They do not have servers or anything so this was definitely an extra customer service thing that he was taking upon himself to do. It was great in my opinion and I appreciate it. I also noticed that as new customers came in the door they stood and read the menu deciding what to get and the manager/employee would ask if he could help or if they had any questions. He also explained to them how the process worked. Again — awesome customer service! There is free wifi here and it works great! I will definitely be back!

I went here for the Grand opening, so I used a free coupon. I ordered a pizza on white crust, garlic infused olive oil, Artichoke, goat cheese and roasted chicken. My friend ordered a Panini. Overall the service and food was good. I look forward to trying new combinations. My pizza was a little greasy, but I’m guessing that it was the olive oil.

We came for the grand opening so our pizza was free. Not bad at all for the price. Haha. I ordered the pepperoni, as it’s my go-to so I can fairly compare«apples to apples» on pizza. The crust was«Meh» and there wasn’t nearly enough toppings, but all in all it wasn’t bad at all. Staff was incredibly friendly and the service was fast. Really great atmosphere for a pizza place and very family friendly. My sons are gluten free and they have great gluten free options. Nonetheless I don’t think the pizza was good enough to come back. If I’m going to blow my diet on pizza it needs to be way better than this.

I owe you one, Uncle Maddio! Thanks for the free 9’inch pizza you supplied in between my holiday shopping today. I’m coming back and I already know what type of pizza I want — a whole wheat, white pie, ricotta cheese, & grilled steak. Today, I had the traditional pizza with tomato basil sauce paired with grilled tofu, vegan cheese, and portobello mushrooms as an «Individual» size($ 7.99). I could only get through half of the pizza before I was filled to the brim with such goodness. It was delightful and fulfilling. Vegans — do not by pass Uncle Maddios. They got it down right with so many options and each pizza come with three toppings right off bat that doesn’t include your cheese choice or sauce! No vegan«meat» options offered as of now but load up on some really good veggies like Portobello mushroom, black bean corn salsa, sun-dried tomatoes, or even fruit like mandarin oranges. You got so many options here! Gluten-free — about almost every ingredient here is GF and are all clearly marked as so on the menu.

I had the BBQ chicken pizza and was surprised at how good it was. The sauce had great flavor and the crust was perfect. There was a layer of chopped up bacon that was amazing. The chicken had a bit of breading and was wonderful. I actually am already craving it again. Would this compete with great family run pizza joints in the U. S… No, but I don’t think it’s trying to. It’s similar to a jimmy Johns or Chipotle., it’s fast food pizza with a pretty good result. I was bummed that I was told entering the place that the small pizzas were free today and I got charged for it. I bought a few drinks and a dessert to-go and didn’t realize that I got charged for it until I got home.

If this was a tv show pitch, I’d call it Chipotle meets pizza… and the TV execs on Fox would green light it, then cancel it a few episodes into the season. At its best, Uncle Maddio’s is just ok. The concept is simple, pick your toppings, if you’re creative, and they make your pizza for you fresh… The 9 inch pizza reminds me of the pizza I would sell in middle school for fundraisers. At best, the pizzas taste, smell and feel the same. Yelling out«Hot Pie!» when every pizza comes out(which is what they do) for delivery to the table is lame… and makes the place feel lamer than what it should be. I understand branding, but this is, no pun intended, cheesy. So in sum… Ok venue… middle school fundraiser pizza… annoying branding. Also…gluten free pizza is $ 2 extra. they smack you with that if you aren’t paying attention… even if it’s «free» on one of their preview days.
