I have been doing my fit foods for 5 days a week for three years. In the past 6 months, changes started to occur. Some good but most of them bad. Everything from reducing the bonus you get for house account prepay, increasing the prices on some meals, removing the price from each item, to removing some of our favorite go to dishs. I can’t understand why they stop making some of there most popular meals. They have lost a long term loyal customer.

I was curious, so pick up a couple of meals. The«besto pesto» which is 3 pieces of pork loin, and what I discovered was zucchini with pesto underneath. Pesto watery, zucchini bitter, and pork loin tough. I ate about a third of it because I was hungry. I might try to slice up the pork tomorrow to put in a stir fry. The zucchini is headed to the garbage disposal. I also bought something that is chicken, broccoli and mashed sweet potato. Based on the taste of the meal I had no interest after the first bite, I’m not optimistic. For $ 8.50 a meal, I am very disappointed. For what I spent for 2 meals, I could have bought a chef prepared, family size beef bourguignon at Central Market that would feed 5 people, and made my own vegetables.

Ack! I left my lunch at home! Ack, I forgot to eat breakfast! ACK! I forgot that I was trying to be healthy! My Fit Foods caters to the trifecta of my food-related issues! They have amazingly flavorful food that is super convenient, super consistent, super healthy, and super health conscious! They have food for many different dietary types — Gluten Free, Vegetarian, etc. They also do FREE health assessments to let you know how you should be eating! The employees are fantastic, also! They always greet you as you come in, and they thank you when you’re leaving! I have to say that they are on the pricey side. I can’t say that I would stop in there as often as I do if I did not have my Corporate Wellness Card. My favorite meals are: — Oat Bake — H Town Sausage & Eggs — Lean Lemon Turkey — Fit Nugget Nation — Almond Butter Crunch

I used to be super impressed with My Fit Foods, it was convenient, always fresh and overall great. However, over the last 6 months I have consistently managed to get several meals that state that they are still on or before their«Sell By» date(which by industry standards isn’t even the«consume by» date) and they have gone bad. After being faced with throwing away yet ANOTHER meal(about 7 or so overall, all on or before their Sell By date), I decided to let My Fit Foods know about the issue. I sent an email through their online customer service center and received an emailing doing the typical apology and offering some free meals and then I received a call from the District Manager of Austin, James, that expressed similar sentiments. I was initially impressed by their responsiveness… that is until I tried to call James back twice now with no return call. I wanted to talk to him, to tell him about how a few free meals isn’t going to win me back when there is obviously something wrong with either their kitchen sanitation, or their expectations of the shelf life of their food, but to no avail… since I haven’t been able to talk to anyone. I did take the foul meal back to the store so they could see it themselves and the manager there, Nathan, blamed it on the green beans that«typically go bad first»…still before their sell by date though mind you. I then pointed out that the foul smell and discoloration was actually on the potatoes. He didn’t have a real answer for that beside to offer me a free meal«of equal or less value.» No thanks. I don’t need yet another meal that will go bad before it’s Sell By date and risk my health by eating something that is obviously experiencing some sort of poor sanitation. Sorry My Fit Foods, but Snap Kitchen is winning, since they are who I purchased my meals from this week.

So, before I delve into this, I have a confession to make. I’m a huge Snap Kitchen fan. A coworker of mine visits My Fit Foods a lot, and she convinced me to give it a try. Upon walking in and glancing through their selection, I couldn’t help but feel a bit underwhelmed. Most of the dishes were picked over and unavailable(something that Snap Kitchen falters at– they are constantly restocking). So, after looking at the menu online, I was disappointed that most everything that I was curious to try wasn’t even there. After sifting through the available selection, I bought a couple of meals. My boyfriend joined me on my little mission and bought a couple as well. I tried the Stuffed Poblano Pepper, and the Herb Roasted Chicken. My boyfriend tried the Kombucha BBQ Chicken and one of the breakfast taco dishes. My meals were fine, nothing wrong with them… and for the most part, relatively enjoyable. Nothing spectacular. Jason really enjoyed the tacos, but found the Kombucha BBQ Chicken to be really dry. I looked at the dish myself, and I had to agree with him. There was no moisture left in the shredded chicken. Sadly he ended up tossing most of it. Maybe it was an off day, or maybe it’s just not my cup of tea. I still lean towards Snap Kitchen for my readily made healthy meals. Maybe MFF could try to make more breakfast dishes… like pancakes. I may try them again, but not in the near future.

I normally have better luck with My Fit Foods, but I’ve been trying to go to this location for awhile now and have had horrible luck. I work out just up the road and i’m finished by 7 am when they open. The first couple of times I went they either didn’t have what I wanted(oatmeal) or there was just one left. If you are going to be open for breakfast, make sure you have the breakfast options available. One time I complained and the sales employee gave me the excuse that they just opened. Not a good excuse to me, get the food out before you open. Common sense no? Today when I went, I got there a few minutes after 7. The open sign was on, but the doors were locked and the lights were off. I saw an employee just sitting in the My Fit Foods truck. Not sure what the issue was there, but they should learn to open on time. Especially considering I could see what I wanted was actually there this time. Lost business and a disappointed customer. Not sure if I will return any time soon.

So. Much. Meat. Meat at every meal, and not nearly enough veggies. After a week and a half on the 21 day challenge my digestive system shut down like the iron gate(sorry for the TMI) and weight stopped coming off. Sent me running to Whole Foods for fresh juiced greens. I did slim down, but I’ll take over from here, thanks!

MFF has decided to remove the ancho sauce from the pollo adobo tacos. This is a HUGE disappointment!!! I used to save those little containers of ancho sauce for other MFF meals that I would eat. I rationed the stuff on a meal by meal basis because it made that much of a difference. I don’t even know what to do now without the ancho sauce. I may even stop coming to MFF. I’ve got to knock them down 2 stars because of this, because that is honestly how I feel about the place without ancho sauce. It’s that important MFF! The guy at the store told me that they started mixing in the ancho sauce into the chicken. Nope, I don’t think so buddy. I’ve been eating these tacos for a looong time. Same chicken. Just no ancho sauce. PLEASEBRINGTHEANCHOSAUCEBACK!!! Or at least sell it to us or give us the recipe!!!

I’ve been a MyFit fan forever! I even won your Instagram photo contest and gave your Westlake Austin 5 stars on Unilocal.I usually buy them in bulk. 2 days ago was my first time coming back after awhile, almost a year!(I’ve been cooking). I’m really disappointed that when I came in the store(thursday), there were just a few left and selection was limited. Also that the Cajun Shrimp which was my fave, was discontinued. But that wasn’t the deal breaker! What broke the deal for me is that I bought 8 of your meals and 3 of them I had to throw out because they have gone bad and the date wasn’t even due. I got 2 that was due same day, got them for 25% off, I was gonna eat one the same day and both were already so bad(salmon)…same day I bought it!!! How did you guys get bad like this? I’m really sad that I may have to stay away permanently. It was a waste of food and money. :(

The buff guy in my office eats here all the time, after a few months of jokes and smelling those meals everyday I caved! I gave in, «go ahead buff guy, grab me one of those packaged microwave meals for gym rats» I must admit, I was shocked, it was terrific. Portion/price/flavor all impressed my wallet and taste buds. This is now my new spot for quick heathy lunches and late dinners. I have now tried various options and enjoy all of them. My favorite is probably the Mario, but you really can’t go wrong here. Great Food! Great Service! Great Healthy Options!

Now that I’ve started frequenting Snap Kitchen, I’ll never go back to My Fit Foods, and reading these reviews has just made me wonder why I kept going to a place with very little I could eat(I’m pescetarian). Besides what MFF lacks in selection, the quality just isn’t there, especially for the price. I tried everything that didn’t have meat in it at one time or another, and used to like the«simple salmon,» but I had several breakfast items that were spoiled before the expiration date, and that was pretty gross(they did refund my money, but it didn’t make me confident about freshness of anything there). Recently, they changed the seasoning of the one salmon thing I did like, and it’s not an improvement. So I’m done. Snap Kitchen is just so much better in nearly every way(expensive, but lots of selection, healthier, local ingredients, etc.)

I will not, nor ever use my fit foods. I inquired about their services, but when it asked about vegetarian/pescatarian options they only have three fish options and NOVEGETARIANOPTIONS! Although the person I talked claimed to have been a vegetarian for a few years they also tried to convince me that the only way to get«COMPLETE protein» was through meat! HAHA clearly they do not have real nutritional education because I know from years of being a vegetarian and taking nutritional classes that you can definitely get complete protein from vegetable sources, such as quinoa, hummus and combo things like rice and beans, which all give you all of the essential amino acids which is what a complete protein is! If you don’t care about the education of the people telling what to eat than this place might work, but if you want someone that knows what they’re talking about please avoid this place. They need to reevaluate the education of their staff and include more vegetarian and pescatarian options!

Back in Houston I was a loyal customer and ate MYFITFOODS at least once or twice a day for almost a year. Since I moved to Austin I had no idea they had locations here. Any how they are not near me so recently drove to this one expecting some great food. I had ate this stuff for a long time so when I tried the LEMONTURKEY I got, it was disgusting and I knew something has changed and was off a bit. Just did not taste the same. The recipe is different or whatever it is they added. Back in Houston my lemon turkey never had bits of hard carrots and celery and was extremely spicy in a bad way. Also notice the trail mix I got changed in bag size. Bag was larger but less trail mix in it and for a higher price. All for what I spent and drove was not worth it. Was really unhappy with the product and my first experience in a Austin location. Such a bummer.

The service was good and the food TASTED good. But let me say this, this food is OBVIOUSLY packed with tons of preservatives and junk. The chicken I had in my chicken meal, tasted like chicken but it did not look or feel like real chicken… I also do not like to use a microwave. I avoid the microwave at all costs, so needless to say, that was unimpressive. Also, if you walk into this place hoping to load your refrigerator with this food with the intentions of «eating better,» you’re kidding, right? You can make meals with ORGANIC, NATURAL foods, FORTHEENTIREWEEK, at a fraction of what you would spend here. As someone who has lost 90 lbs without a trainer, without prepackaged ready-to-eat meals, maybe I know what I’m talking about? I dunno. My Fit Foods screams, «I’m a middle aged, stay at home mom with nothing better to do!»

First, the positives: The selection was a little overwhelming, but definitely in a good way. Huge refrigerators filled with pre-cooked meals portioned into different sizes. I was immediately greeted by Danielle, who was very beautiful. After being taken through all the choices(including her favorites, which was basically everything), I made my selection and then checked out. Danielle carried my food to the door and even held it open for me. Chick Chivalry! Now the negatives: Most importantly, I got sick from the chicken and pesto. So, yeah. It wasn’t very good, either. I was definitely disappointed. Next, I spent fifteen minutes listening to Danielle tell me what’s up. She was very nice, but I felt overwhelmed. I came in to grab something quickly, but that didn’t happen. I felt like I was in a supplement store where the worker is way overbearing about what they think I should buy. I am gluten intolerant, so I really like the idea of this store. I will definitely try again and hope for a better experience!

I stopped in for the first time a few days ago and was very impressed with everything about this place! I was immediately greeted when I walked in and was helped by the extremely friendly staff. They helped me find what I was looking for, grabbed it for me, and even gave me some suggestions on what else I might like based on what I was getting. This was very helpful and made my the time I was inside really enjoyable. Once I got home with my meals I was blown away at just how good the food was! Everything I purchased was very flavorful and delicious unlike most healthy food out there! Everything was extremely fresh and although I bought smalls of everything even these were enough to satisfy my hunger and I am a 185 pound guy. I also bought some things for friends and they were really impressed as well and enjoyed everything! The prices are about what you would expect health foods to be but considering everything is made fresh everyday and never frozen it’s worth it in my opinion. I will definitely be frequenting My Fit Foods a lot.

I started out and did the 21 day challenge last summer. I didn’t really lose any weight but it was nice to not have to worry about what I was going to eat, or have to go to the grocery store, or cook, or clean. For those who say it is overpriced, it really is a question about time versus money. And it is much cheaper and healthier than going to a real restaurant or a drive-thru. The quality has gone down in the past year I think. The Ninja Tenderloin used to be my favorite dinner, but now, the meat always tastes mingon(that’s British for«gross or inedible»). I still LOVE their oatmeal and have tried making it at home myself with mixed results. Don’t worry, I have a hard time with toast too… No really, I am an excellent cook, and that is partially why I think MFF is just A-OK: because I could cook something as healthy, that would taste better to me. When I do cook, it’s nice to cook a few extra portions, and put them in my MFF reusable containers since they are the correct portion size and I have a TON of them. I still definitely hit up MFF if I have a busy week coming up, like during school, or when I know I’m going to have to be working late a lot. When you know you’re not going to want to cook and do the grocery store and the dishes, that is when MFF really shines.

My pants are tight. Something must be done. I woke up this morning, gritted my teeth, gingerly stepped on the scale and almost fell over with shock. Mother F&*^%$^!!! How has this happened? I’ve been exercising 5 days a week, watching what I’ve been eating and gained 3 pounds last week!!! Defeated and tired, I was driving past MFF on the way to the office and decided to give it another whirl. Sure enough, the helicopter staff was hovering about. This time the«consultant» was a young, fit man barely old enough to consume adult beverages. I am pretty sure he has never had to deal with back fat issues– I wish they would hire some female staff to whom I can relate. Anyway, the following ensued: Me: «I’m looking for a low carb lunch option». Jr: «Hmmm… Low carb for lunch. That’s(pause) interesting». Me: «Really? How so? What’s so ‘interesting’ about eating low carb»? Jr: «Well, you should be having a higher carb meal for lunch, plus we don’t really carry many low carb meals». Me: «That’s(pause for effect) interesting. You are suggesting I eat carbs for lunch even while on a low carb diet? Really? That makes no sense». Annoyed, I perused the selections while Jr. hovered about and selected the salmon with pear salsa for $ 8.25. Jr. kindly offered to take my little meal to my car for me. Um, doesn’t it look like I could use the exercise? That was a little weird. Jr. assured me that my meal would be very flavorful and delicious, but I’m quite certain he’s not a foodie and hasn’t had the pleasure of dining at a 5 star restaurant in his short life, so unsurprisingly my meal was a letdown. I didn’t taste any pear in my «pear salsa», though I did like the little kick from the jalapeños. That and the meal is 8 points on Weight Watchers, which seems pretty high for a lunch. My verdict: I need less fat, more flavor and less bucks for a bang.

A — HA!!! So I would come here if I’m in a pinch. The food is pretty good but I feel I could actually make this at home. The menu actually gave me many ideas on what to cook. Since I’m an athlete(I never thought I would be saying that about myself), I have to watch what I eat. Believe I eat better than I did a couple of years ago. The employee was real nice and gave me an explanation of how the refrigerator is divided up. Basically when you first come in there are four big refrigerators similar to what you see at the supermarket. There was a lot of choices but I had the tilapia w/vegetables. It was fresh and you can feel that there was no salt or artificial flavor. I’ll come back here but it’s not something I am desperate to go back to. But hell the menu gave me many ideas on what to eat.

The focus here seems to be more about losing weight than about enjoying what you eat — and the approach feels very«one size fits all» to me. We wandered in here one evening while out walking our dog, and got a bit of a sales job from the guy who was working here. He offered to give us our first two meals free, and we hadn’t had dinner, yet, so we agreed. After looking through the cases, we decided on what we wanted, and he grabbed the free meals for each of us — a medium for my husband and a small for me. I was a little annoyed that he just decided I should have a small while he gave my husband a medium — just because I’m female doesn’t mean I don’t need to eat! Even though we supplemented with some of their edamame, I was still hungry afterward and ended up grazing on a bunch of junk we had sitting around the house later. Not exactly conducive to weight loss. My salmon with broccoli and quinoa was pretty bland and tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a while — i.e., not very fresh. Ditto the edamame. I later went back and tried the lemon turkey that everyone raves about; it was better, but the flavor lacked finesse and just felt forced, and the rice was reminiscent of Uncle Ben’s. The fact that the food is also totally overpriced(a medium serving of the lemon turkey costs $ 8.25 for what amounts to maybe 1−½ cups of cooked rice + about ¾ cup of ground turkey and two asparagus spears, all of which has been camping out in the fridge) is the nail in the MFF coffin for me. I completely understand the allure of wanting a place where you can grab a quick, healthy meal on the run, but at these prices, you can for sure get something that is fresh, just as healthy, AND far more palate-pleasing.
