I love the location, and so far, I’ve only tried their vanilla latte, which is great! However, there are many times that I’ve gone by and it’s just not open. So the only complaint that I have is that wish they had longer hours!

I agree with another reviewer that timing may be everything here. I ordered regular drip coffee on one particularly busy Sunday, and to be honest, I’ve have better gas station coffee. Not good, at all. Lukewarm, tepid flat dirty water. I didn’t drink it. Won’t be going back.

I have nothing bad to say about Elixer! The coffee is good, wait time is short, and if you’re in the area it’s definitely a place I’d like to stop by again. That being said, besides being a food truck there isn’t anything particularly special about Elixer — it’s a great establishment, but no noticeable ‘wow’ factor.

I recently started walking with Hike It Baby and we do a few miles around Mueller Lake. One Monday after I finished my trek, I ordered a peppermint latte from this adorable coffee truck. It was delicious and the woman working the truck was friendly and prompt with my coffee. I intend to make this coffee truck a routine stop on my walks around Mueller Lake.

Reading all the amazing reviews of this place is making me think that life really is about timing. I have tried to go here three times and each time left with empty hands. So I probably won’t be going back. The first time I went there was a sign on the door that said«be back in 15». I waited for 15 and no one showed up. The second time I got there and the girl said she was having some electrical issue and couldn’t serve me. So I left. She was pretty unapologetic about it. Not saying it’s her fault. More that an apology or acknowledgement of the inconvenience would’ve been nice. The third time they were just closed. But it was during my lunch break around 1pm. Why are they closed then? I give up.

When the coffee lacks flavor and temperature, it automatically fails. Last Sunday, I was at Mueller Lake Park enjoying the sunny day with my new Unilocal friends. I noticed a coffee vendor nearby. I thought I could use some caffeine real quick. So, I ordered a cup of black coffee. I drank it in a minute because it was lukewarm. I couldn’t order anything else, because they were about to close. I wish they check the temperature before selling the coffee.

Great coffee and lemonade. Prices are reasonable, and the workers are always nice. There’s plenty of seating, including a kid sized picnic table, slide and toy plane for the kids.

I don’t like to give poor reviews… But… The coffee was not great for a place that only sells beverages. Plenty of awesome coffee shops in the area that we’ll choose over this one. Thunderbird and Cherrywood are on point.

The coffee tasted just fine, no complaints there. And who doesn’t enjoy some food truck coffee while strolling around a park/farmer’s market? But I had a really negative experience with the barista here, which contradicts what most everyone else seems to experience. Maybe the woman working Elixir that morning was really hangry or something – I don’ t know – but in the few minutes of interaction, there was an unremitting stream of rude coming out of that food truck window, the peak of which would have to be the«c’mon out with it» hand gesture she made(the one where you rotate your wrist, hand, and outstretched fingers in small circles) when I apparently did not make my order quickly enough. To be clear, I had not been standing there for more than a few seconds of decision-making. And there was no one else in line behind me. Any coffeeshop/barista can have a bad day, I suppose, but with the wealth of delicious coffee in a one mile radius, it is really shooting yourself in the foot to be so remarkably hostile to a customer.

I love walking my dogs over to this truck. We get an iced coffee and continue our morning stroll. The dogs usually get to enjoy a great from the barista.

They are super friendly and made me a great iced chai tea latte. I didn’t have to wait forever either. What’s not to like?

Good, convenient(for me) little coffee trailer off Far West. Have only had iced coffee so far, so I may need to update this after another visit.

I don’t get a chance to stop by Scott’s truck often, as I’m generally in S. Austin, and they’re not open late. That said, he’s a very skilled barista, and is one of the few in Austin with a manual machine, giving him more control over their pulls.(That said, I was not so impressed with the output from the few manual Slayer machines I encountered before leaving SF for Austin.) He definitely know how to use it properly! Mueller park is a nice spot to hang out on a weekend, so definitely stop by the old truck!

A cute little coffee truck conveniently located at Mueller lake park. There are a few different few trucks at this park, but definitely check out Elixer.

Nice little coffee truck located in Mueller park each morning. I’ve come by Mueller before many, many times, and I’ve missed it since I’ve only been by during the day. I’m still trying my hand on this entire coffee thing, so I’m pretty clueless on the whole with regards to coffee. Still, I enjoyed this little spot. The Americano was strong, and my friend’s Chai latte was quite delicious. The owner was really friendly and easy to talk to. I would definitely come back!

«Meh, I’ve experienced better» truly describes my sentiment toward Elixer Coffee. I work in the Mueller area and it’s great to have a non-Starbucks option nearby that’s walking distance from my office. But the coffee is not that great. I really wanted to like it and I’ve tried it multiple times, thinking that maybe they had a bad brew day or something. Perhaps it’s the coffee beans. Maybe it’s their brewing method. Supposedly french pressed and strong, but sure doesn’t taste like it. Inexpensive at $ 2 a cup.

I don’t like writing negative reviews but my experience sat with me all day and I felt like I should say something. I was really excited to try some coffee from this cute little truck, but now it’s no longer such a cute little truck… I had one of the worst interactions I’ve encountered living here in Austin, it took me by such surprise. I looked at all these reviews saying how nice the baristas here are, well not this one. The women that took my order was straight up rude from the very beginning. When I asked a question she snapped at me like I should have known that they were out of something on their menu. Then when I was trying to pay, she was annoyed with how I was paying & told me so, and I think that was the 3rd time I apologized by then(because clearly I was ruining her day and doing everything wrong trying to order a coffee). I felt completely harassed in less than a 1 – 2 min time span. When I thought maybe she just hated me for some reason, my fiancé ordered and he misheard her grumbles so she then yelled at him«what do you want?!» Yeah, not just me. And the coffee? It was okay… but definitely not worth it when you have to deal with the extremely rude barista. Not going to be back, there’s PLENTY other really great coffee places in town with baristas that are actually friendly, it’s really unfortunate.

First time for trailer park coffee. Got a dry macchiato and it was pretty good, but maybe the temp or time to pull wasn’t right b/c it was so cold outside. Although I did fell bad for the gal and tipped her well, she was sitting in the cab of a(albiet cool) truck w/a heat lamp, but there were things spilling out of it and looked like a combination of a high school kids locker and a homeless person’s shopping cart. It was captivating, but not in the way I would expect for Mueller. I gave it 3 stars b/c the gal was nice — oh, it was super cheap!

One thing I love about these coffee trailers is the great personality of the folks working them. The worker(and I presume owner) was so friendly. I appreciated the genuine conversation, and I think I was energized by my interaction with him alone! Another bonus with Elixer is that the entire menu already includes tax. The prices are very, very reasonable in light of that. I opted for a drip coffee — nice and strong. Flavor wise, nothing stuck out, but I’d love to try the other drinks. They get their beans from Fara Coffee, a local roaster with beans originating from Nicaragua. In addition, there’s lenty of seating for you to enjoy your drink, and Elixer provides an easy option for caffeine as you wait for your order from the other trucks: FOtT, Bud’s, etc. Overall, Elixer offers strong drinks with fantastic service. Whether you’re stopping by before work or searching for a mid-day pick-me-up, add Elixer on your list for East Austin caffeine stops.
