Cherrywood Coffeehouse

Cherrywood is one of my favorite coffeehouses in Austin. They have a nice selection of beer, the food is good-​great, the staff is friendly and there is plenty of room. I’m particularly fond of their burgers, gyro salad and ice tea. My only complaint is during the really hot months it feels a bit warm in there… and their lot is smallish but there’s usually street parking nearby.

First time coming here and I loved it! Great vibe as soon as I came in, away from all the chaos. Tea is amazing, not just in bags, they actually have tea leaves where they brew in a homey coffee cup. The tacos where BEYOND good and not expensive at all. I recommend to anyone wanting to get stuff done. I’d come in the evening like 8 pm, because it was a little noisy when I arrived at 630 ish. But nothing earphones can’t fix, although I doubt you’d want to because the music is very chill and relaxing. Only gave it 4 stars because the parking lot is tiny and had to wait forever to find a parking spot. Other than that, GREAT experience.

The only thing more amusing than hipster watching at a coffee house is hipster parent watching. I play a little game trying to find the tot with the most deliberately mismatched clothes.

This place is solid! Nice coffeehouse with some really good food — not your typical coffee place with just sandwiches and pastries. The shrimp and grits were delicious! Nice cajun flavors and the shrimp were well-​seasoned. I added strawberry jam for a sweet aspect to the dish which was amazing. As others have noted, they are a bit greasy, but doesn’t taste greasy (not sure if that makes sense). Coffee was really good and they give you a huge mug. My friend got the breakfast tacos and they looked good as well; they were also huge. Would definitely return for a good meal and do a bit of work.

Annoying staff that is very smug and hipster. Thanks for the shitty service after waiting 20 minutes for a to-​go taco, I walked out.

I read the online menu. Everything sounded so good and I was starving! I ordered the fish tacos with chips and salsa, and I ordered a bahn mi with a cucumber salad for my boyfriend.
We thought it was nasty. The fish in my tacos very slimy, barely crispy. The radish slaw tasted old. The sauce was ok, not the best. The chips have a weird burnt aftertaste. Salsa seemed watered down, not very flavorful, and barely spicy!
My boyfriend said that the pork in his bahm mi tasted like chicken. He was expecting it to taste like a traditional bahn mi, so he was severly disappointed. Also, he said the cucumber salad was way too vinegary.
Very sad. Probably will not be coming back ever.

Cozy coffee shop and restaurant. Came here for breakfast at 10am on a Saturday and we just beat the Saturday morning/​brunch traffic.

I have come to truly enjoy this local neighborhood spot. I usually walk here with my dog because they have a great patio area and plenty of doggy water bowls, you just have to grab water from the self-​serve station inside. I also need help with my french fries and he’s the best french fry wingman. This place is a little bit of a coffee house, bistro with great food and bar. I’ve tried most of their sandwiches and I must say I am a fan. My favorite are the Bahn mí and the Cuban sandwich. Both delicious. Can’t get enough of their fries so they are a must with a meal. Their regular iced coffee is strong enough for when you don’t feel like dishing out for coffee. Their cuban con leche is nice and strong and delicious. Have yet to try pastries, but I see a lot of others trying it. They have music playing outside and they also tend to do shows and events which is neat for the neighborhood.
You order at the counter. You get a number and wait for your drinks at counter 2. The food comes to you.
Great atmosphere. Great food. Great coffee. Have yet to try their beers, so I will update this down the line.

Part of the enjoyment of this place should be the staff, not only the menu… I walked in excited to be here and annoyed I just paid a crabby patty my hard earned cash!

Pretty darn good breakfast. Order at the counter. Live music on weekends. Be prepared to share your breakfast experience with furry friends, and their dogs.

I would have given cherrywood 5 stars if I had not had two terrible experiences with their lattes, they basically tasted like dirty water– and no I’m not just used to Starbucks lattes that are pure sugar. I’ve had many lattes from several places and cherrywood doesn’t meet my tastebud needs. I will say that their iced coffee is amazing, you don’t need to add anything to it! They also have a great selection of pastries and their food menu is great!
The atmosphere is my favorite, that’s why I keep coming back. They have a large outside patio (note the wifi does not work well outside)
Somethings that could change are the hipster baristas attitudes! The guys are awesome, the girls could use a little more smile in their encounters with customers.
Who knows maybe it’s just me!

The coffee is great. The breakfast tacos are very good and reasonable priced. The staff is great. The coffee shop has a cool vibe. Good music and nice layout of place. Close to work. Overall, good experience.

I went in after 2 hours biking on Sunday chill night (around 37℉). It feels so great to have some snacks and hot tea to satisfy me! I can eat and relaxing for a while! Just love it.

OMG, thee best cinnamon rolls ever! Very thin layers of crust and sugar and butter and cinnamon. The shrimp and grits are a little greasy, but delicious flavor and creamy cheesy grits. They had live music during brunch, and I loved the atmosphere. Amazing food and very reasonably priced.

Cool place, but I don’t get it. I came in at around 8 am on a Saturday during the second weekend of ACL. About 4 people inside. Ordered up a coffee. Tastes good Bob. Ordered up two breakfast tacos. They got some nice girth. Opened up my breakfast taco and I find as the advertised potatoes, shoe string potatoes. Alright alright, a different take. Shredded cheese on top, but not even close to melted because it was laying on top of the shoe string potatoes.
Like I said, this must be a new take on breakfast tacos and I don’t get it. Someone else may and this taco is for you. I like the texture those potatoes provide, but I wouldn’t really advertise it as the potato for a potato, egg, cheese, and bacon taco.
I’ll definitely come here for coffee again. The first time I went, the staff was really friendly. The second time I went, they were in robot mode. Given… it was really packed.

Fui especialmente a comer huevos revueltos y logre lo que buscaba. Si bien el plato no era abundante te dan muchas opciones para tener un buen American Breakfast. El café estaba delicioso también.
El lugar esta muy bien ambientado con mesas individuales y varias mesas largas de trabajo. Recomendable lugar.

Chill spot with a huge patio and the occasional live music. Great place for brunch and on Tuesday nights for stand up comedy. Friendly staff, good food and if your lucky there is nice weather so you can fully enjoy the patio. If not, thats ok! the inside is comfy with lots of art and good smells.

Food good. Had burger yesterday & crawfish omlette today for brunch– all tasty. Large outdoor area, dogs welcome. They have large communal tables available inside.

Only down side to this place, (after TWO visits!) is the attitude of servers. I have not met anyone yet that was remotely friendly. :(They answer questions with as little response as possible. Once I even received a grunt! :(Would have rated higher if i had enjoyed the visit. If you like restaurants with ATTITUDE, this is your place. Not mine. :(

What a great place for brunch when there’s nice weather out! My friends and I actually came here based on the Unilocal reviews and we were not disappointed. Unilocal said they play live music, there was a man playing the guitar. Unilocal said atmosphere is slightly hipster/​casual, that’s pretty true. People tend to be on their laptops doing school work and what not. Unilocal said their food was worth it, and yet they are right once again.
I highly recommend the Shrimp and Grits! It is pure perfection with the grits being the right consistency and the shrimp having the right amount of spice. They are also quite generous with the amount of shrimp given in the plate (approx. 10). I would give my plate a ¹⁰⁄₁₀. My two friends got their Crawfish Egg Benedict and said that it was tasty. My other friend got a normal burger and said it was juicy. They all gave their dishes an ⁸⁄₁₀.
Only downfall with this place is that they are pretty slow with bringing out everyone’s food. They did it one by one, so by the time someone was done, they brought out another person’s plate. They also forgot my friends order, so he actually had to go in and bring the plate out to the patio himself. Overall, I would come back here, but there are little things here and there that would make this place a ⁵⁄₅.

I was on this side of town and of course I needed coffee so I went to my ol faithful Unilocal app. The place is in an interesting location with not many options for parking.
Once I walked in it was very packed with people and seemed like a pretty hip little place. I was impressed that thy had a huge selection of beers on tap. I’m loving the whole coffee/​beer house.
I’ve been trying it dirty chai lattes and some places just can’t get it right. Sad to say, this was one of them :(I was so excited because it came in this nice fancy cup served alongside my everything bagel topped with sausage and egg.
The chai had to be one of the worst I’ve ever had. It had zero sweetness to it and was pretty undrinkable. I’m not one to complain so I just ate my sandwich and tried to drink it.
The bagel sandwich wasn’t bad, the bagel was vey good. I added black beans on it and it was a nice change in your usual bagel breakfast sandwich.
The coffee, ugh I’m not going to order that one again. I even tried getting a cup of ice Togo and thought maybe I could drink it iced but it still was not happening.
The reviews looks good here and I think it’s worth a try to come back and get my expresso drink I order and see if they get that right before completely writing them off.

Choices of food to esat. Big smoothies. Helpful staff and huge french fries. Next time try gyros for me and buscuits and gravy for Christian. Hubby Liked sunset lane and blueberry was very peanut buttery and delicious!

Nette lockere und alternative Atmosphäre mit toller Möglichkeit zum draußen Sitzen. Hatte das Clubsandwich und kann es definitiv weiter empfehlen. Personal etwas untypisch nicht übermäßig freundlich wie in USA üblich.
