Again. Nothing special, but my son really likes the old games they have like Pac Man and Pin Ball. Got the usual — veggie pizza and cordon bleu sandwich. All of our food came. No sandwich. Waited incase it was still coming. Waited 5 minutes. I finally said something. The man stated that I didn’t order the sandwich. I politely said I did. He corrected me again. I found our receipt. Only then did he say«it must have slipped through» and offered to go make my sandwich. No sorry. No my mistake. Take ownership. I’m pretty sure he is the manager too. Very turned off. I don’t recommend coming here. There are plenty of other pizza joints that offer better food and most importantly better customer service.

What can I say, it’s DoubleDaves. The pepperoni rolls are the bomb. Others have imitated them but none are as good. THIS is the reason to get fat at DoubleDaves! The stromboli is also really good. The pizza is mediocre but they do have some pretty great monthly special pizzas. When October gets here, you’ll catch me at here at least once a week for the Thanksgiving pizza, holy turkey that pie is amazing. Tuesday is $ 1 pepperoni roll day, so get your gluttony on!

I believe in giving a place 2 shots before you give them a bad rating. Well it is a 2. They are consistent. Twice we ordered the same thing, a special with extra cheese. Each time we received it with hardly any cheese or toppings. The first time I didn’t say anything. The second time my husband said, «isn’t this the same thing that happened last time?»

Decent selection for pizza, and the taste is average for pizza. They do have a good number of special deals – when we went it was like 3 pizza rolls for $ 6 or something like that… turns out to be incredibly if you decide to go that route.

Great salad bar, pizzas and my favorite, the philly cheese stromboli are delicious! Plus, craft beers to wash it all down with.

DoubleDave’s Arbor Trails, I puffy heart you. Your peproni rolls are unmatched. Your delivery people are speedy and courteous. Your actual restaurant is fun(video games!!!) and you have good beer on tap. And you guys do SO much for my kids’ school, Patton Elementary. Thank you for being an amazing asset to our community AND for keeping me supplied with peproni rolls.

Food good and staff nice. Clean and nice interior. They were busy but getting one ham and cheese sandwich took over thirty minutes. Spoke with two firemen who were also waiting for a long time. If your lunch break is only 30 minutes don’t come here…

I tried Double Dave’s South Austin again — this time as take out. Amazing pizza rolls — get some. Pizza was good — my wife and kid live it. After the pizza rolls, hard to go after the pizza … Those rolls are legit. Thanks to the staff for reaching out to me and encouraging me to try then again. All in all, good stuff.

This was a pretty good pizza experience. The veggie pizza my wife ordered was really good and was on wheat dough. The other pizza we ordered was a two toppings pizza on regular crust. It was really good as well. The restaurant was very busy and we took out pizzas home.

Great fresh salad bar, friendly people. Good pizza. They make very large slices individually — always fresh.

The only thing that I ever order here is their pepperoni rolls. I think that their pizza is mediocre at best but then again that is just MHO. Their pepperoni rolls rock though! I’ve never had a bad experience ordering via phone and picking up. They are pretty quick.

Just had a bad experience at DD. We called ahead and were told over the phone that they had gluten free pizza. We ordered for several people and sat down. Then an employee came out and told us that none of their ingredients were Gluten free. I asked why they said they had Gluten free if they can’t make gluten free. I understand cross contamination and that was not it. The employee(male) who was trying to be helpful just had no idea about gluten went to look at a chart on the wall. I could then hear a few lady’s laughing about«why would someone eat out if they had an allergy» turns out it was the«manager» a female with lips pierced and another female employee. The manager then argued about returning all my money. She them did with a crappy attitude. I am surprised how bad her attitude was. The manager kept telling telling me that«all cheese has gluten in it and they can’t carry specialty cheeses just for us. » This is an example of no food training. All they guys had a good attitude and were trying to be helpful. Train your people.

My wife and I have visited this Double Dave’s, and received take out on several occasions. Previously the service and food has been excellent, hence the reason we were returning customers. And for the record, the street taco pizza is incredible. Unfortunately, last night our great experiences with Double Dave’s ended. When I came home from work yesterday, we agreed that neither one of us felt like cooking, so we decided to order pizza for delivery. In our area, our choices for delivery are limited, but we were excited to order from DD. we placed our online order and waited. I could not believe what we received upon delivery. Of the 2 pizzas we ordered, one was crammed all the way to one side of the box, as if the box had been stood on end with the pizza still in it. I am uploading a photo. I have worked in the service industry in my younger days, and this is a great example of something that will turn me off on a restaurant. I will be a long time before we head back there.

My review for DoubleDave’s only applies to this location as they recently moved and changed the menu. Gone is the pizza buffet that brought everyone there during lunchtime. The owner gave lots of explanation about food costs and needing to raise the price of the buffet to $ 11, you now get fresh cooked pizza, it’s a great value, etc., etc. I’m sorry, but I don’t buy it. Nobody else in town has to charge $ 11 for pizza, and there are other things that could have been done to mitigate the price like removing some of the more expensive buffet items. Since we were meeting up with someone else, we ended up staying and ordering off the menu. A slice of pizza — which was decent in size — was $ 3.99. Not exactly the great value we were promised. The pepperoni rolls were $ 1.25/each, but they were also smaller than the usual rolls you’d find on the menu. That being said, the slice of pizza was good. Unfortunately, I won’t be going here anymore. DoubleDave’s has pretty good pizza, but it’s not up to compete with the more upscale pizza joints by ordering solely off the menu. It’s the owner’s decision, of course, to do what he wants, but while we were there I saw about half of the people who came in walk right back out after being informed there’s no buffet. We’ll have to see…

Total flashback to my early twenties yesterday; remembering the old location in Oak Hill. I used to arrive right around the same time as the Motorola crowd and mingle in so I could get their discount. $ 5 got you the full buffet spread. Jumping forward to yesterday and the $ 9 price tag was worth the trip thanks to the fare and some firsts that came about. I instantly hit the pepperoni rolls and the cheese steak stromboli. The rolls haven’t changed a bit. The stromboli was delicious; but seemed to be missing a spice that used to make it unbeatable. The pizza was good especially the chicken with garlic and the veggie with thin crust. Salad bar was fresh but the blue cheese dressing could have been better. Now onto the highlights. I’ve never given little Rooster any kind of pizza. I’m thinking he likes bread and cheese. I started him off with some cheese sticks which he happily ate. He tried but failed to chomp one of the pepperoni rolls. The best part came at the end when I gave him one of the dessert slices. The pie slice covered in cinnamon and sugar with tiny chocolate chips was his first bites of chocolate. With tiny fingers swooping thru the little chips; he had brown goo from cheek to cheek. He then proceeded to scrape the topping right off the crust until he was smiling and happy. Yea Daddy! I honestly thought Double Daves was completely gone; replaced by that rockband tomato place. I then saw the sign just off the road at the corner of Wm. Cannon and Brodie and drove right in. Its been years since we last visited; the kiddo and I will see ya again real soon
