Service terrible, too loud, food mediocre and small portions; plus everything comes at different times. First time I didn’t leave a tip. Maybe good for the under 30 crowd. Never again.

Love, loved this place. Though portions are small they are more than enough. Savor every bite because the taste is awesome. Can’t wait to go back. Waiter attentive but not intrusive.

Awesome meal here last night. Service was amazing, Except the girl that walked us to our table. She needs another job. Everyone else more than made up for her. Loved chicken soup dumplings(goods sized), edamame dumplings(super tiny) but amazing, fish tacos(only come with two) great, Wagyu beef app great, with truffles, yum! For an entrée we shared the short rib for two. One part of it was tender and wonderful the other was super dry and not great. Loved the presentation and that make it into tacos with lettace and rice. Our waiter was very attentive and really knew the menu. Kudos for good training! Is it expensive yes. Overpriced maybe, but what isn’t in a resort. We did not try the sushi, House drinks we liked. Overall very good and would recommend.

Ordered filet mignon it came out barely warm 5 minutes after I ordered it. I sent it back. They brought me a new one roughly ten minutes later maybe a tiny bit warmer but obviously not freshly cooked. Absolutely horrible meal. One of the worst of my life.

Modern, fun, delicious food. Great place to share food with everyone. Sushi was good as well as the calamari salad. Would go back in a heartbeat.

IZAKAYA! They do it right! It’s so good I’m willing to order and spend 40 bucks there while I’m across the way working at gypsy bar when we have a free cafeteria! They cater to your food allergies and hey have gluten free vegan menu! Everything on it is amazing! Everything comes into rapidly and food quality not compromised! The spicy avocado cracker and the garden roll say what! Not to mention excellent service! I’ve been working at Borgata for over nine years and IZAKAYA is my favorite!

The fish is so fresh and so well prepared! I created a roll due to their limited sushi menu. They will allow you to create if the ingredients are available. I highly suggest coming here while in AC!

I’ve only stayed at the Borgata Water Club in Atlantic City, so I really haven’t explored the city much. But I must say, especially for a hotel restaurant, I’ve been very impressed with Izakaya the few times I’ve been there. It is a little overpriced, but you’re really paying for the scene and the convenience, if you’re staying in the hotel. The sushi is fresh and the skewers are amazing, but the portions are seriously tiny for the cost(especially the lobster). They also know how to make a crafty sweet cocktail, which pleases me! I would recommend.

Found the music way too loud. Started at the bar; not impressed with their house cocktails. The service was excellent, although the waiter seemed to think we were dumb suburbanites who didn’t know anything about non-American food or small plates. The food was either excellent or sub-par. All of the sushi and sashimi dishes were excessively overpriced. No fresher than an average corner place, with smaller than usual cuts but 2−3x the price. We loved the Koren BBQ buns, fish tacos(tiny tho), Wagyu beef. We ordered an excellent bottle of white wine that was reasonably priced at $ 35. It’s not the romantic date night place we were hoping for– there were a lot of groups dining & now I see why. Would go back but avoid the sushi/sashimi– the very things we went for that night.

Very modern atmosphere with a traditional Japanese cuisine! Sushi is one of my favorites and Izakaya provides the freshest ingredients packed into every bite. I also ordered the chicken soup dumplings that had a little zing to them! My only hold up was the limited lighting inside the restaurant, in addition to the seemingly loud music.

Izakaya is a MUSTVISIT, in AC. There is nothing that I would be able to critique which would present anything other than a positive experience, at Izakaya. The food is amazing, and you are able to experience Japanese food in the U.S., at its finest. You can find Americanized dishes, traditional Japanese dishes, or anything which may suit your fancy in between. I don’t need to go into detail, as anything you order at this gem is delectable; however, I will say that the last time I was there, I was unable to contain myself and when the bill came I realized that I had ordered/eaten SIX orders of Salmon Sashimi…(not proud) =() BTW, I have traveled to Japan, and this place is the real deal(with American culture infused with regard to the décor and some menu items).

Our meal was fantastic. The only thing I would change would be the size of the lettuce leave in the salad. They were huge and hard to manage. Loved the Mahi Mahi tacos. They had a deep fried jalapeño on top with very tasty sauce. The octopus would have been slightly better if grilled a touch longer. The highlight of the meal was the seared scallops over sushi rice risotto with edamme and the Brussel Sprouts with soy and fish sauce! Both were amazing!

Izakaya is a tapas– style, luxury Asian-fusion restaurant located in the Borgata Casino. On Monday nights, they have happy hour starting at 5:30 pm and a special-priced menu with a selection of small plates, sushi rolls, appetizers, and drinks. Most of the options on the happy hour menu are priced at $ 7, and I assure you the quality is top-notch. We ordered the dynamite, Philly smoked salmon, and crunchy spicy tuna rolls, a beef skewer appetizer, the pork belly, the lobster fritters, and a peppered beef sandwich that was also on special, but off the menu. Everything came out quickly and was delicious. The fish was so fresh that every bite of the sushi was like biting into butter. The pork belly was a perfect cut with just enough fat to meat, that literally melted in my mouth. Everything was so delicious and flavorful. I can honestly say that I haven’t had a meal that has truly stunned me in quite some time, like the meal I had at Izakaya. We will be back next time we visit the Borgata.

When it comes to the Izakaya, the first thing that comes to mind is luxury. This restaurant strives to provide a luxurious and fine dining experience for sushi and Japanese grilled items. The ambience of this place is elegant with nice décor, the lighting was dim, there was a dj, beautiful furniture and funky lamps with a huge glass tank of various sakes. Sadly the lighting was perhaps a bit too dim to take good pictures lol. When we arrived for our reservation, we were seated immediately and the waitress was very friendly and knowledge on the menu and how it works. There was also a serving of edamame on each table to start with which is a plus! The entrees are encouraged to be shared, while other items are small portions fresh off the grill so it is encouraged to order several portions if you don’t anticipate on eating sushi or entrees. the grilled items ranged from chicken, short ribs, beef and pork, I loved the chicken satay with spicy mustard, it was soft and came right off the skewer with amazing flavor, it was glazed with spices so its worth ordering several portions cuz it really tastes that good! I also had a bite of the short rib and it was also soft and juicy packed with flavor. there is also various salads and dumplings you can choose from, we went with pork gyoza and it was super tasty and wasn’t too salty, but it wasn’t filling either; and they don’t offer a steamed or fried option like other places do they only served in steamed. Majority of the rolls were not items I would like personally, but seafood lovers would love the various rolls with shrimp, tuna, salmon and scallops. Being the picky eater I am I opted for a classic option which was the California roll, I like how all rolls can come in a large hand roll as an alternative and some fancier rolls come in 8 pieces as opposed to the average six. My California roll came really fast and was pretty light but tasty, I also got the garden roll which had carrots mushroom and asparagus, I wasn’t too fond of it until I dipped it in soy sauce for some flavor. Most of the rolls ranged from 17 – 21 bucks which I felt was a huge rip off because I still was hungry after everything I ordered. On the plus size the bottles of sake weren’t too expensive, ranging from 28 and up, they even offered Japanese whiskey and cocktails that cost only 12 bucks [lychee cocktail was on point! not too sweet or too tangy!] and the berry punch that my boyfriend ordered wasn’t too sweet and had just the right amount of vodka in it, it was colorful too: D. in addition, there is the other option of 65 a person for a four course meal, but you don’t get to choose from everything on the menu, so I cant say this is ideal for all people. of course I couldn’t help but glance at the desert menu which had pudding, chocolate deserts, pudding and oreo smores tart[god I was so tempted], they also have desert wines and organic teas and coffees. overall for a party of 5, the bill came out to 80 a person and we each order two appetizers a drink and two to three rolls. while it may not be too bad for a fancy place like this, I certainly did not feel like I was full for the night and you can get lots of these rolls off the menu for half the price in other places. I would come back to this place for meat /grilled items only, not the expensive and no so filling sushi rolls.

Wow! What can I say. Amazing deal for a Monday at the borgata. $ 7 appys and small plates and sake martinis from $ 7 in a cocktail glass, $ 14 for a half carafe, or $ 21 for a full carafe(32 ounces). We started with fried chicken satay and ahi tuna with avocado. Both were a huge hit. Great flavors and very fresh. Next, my bf had the beef negimaki and I had the teriyaki salmon over soba noodles. Definitely tapas sized portions, but we savored every bite. We finished with the edemame which was the least impressive dish that we had. A little overcooked and slightly soft. The bbq ribs robatayaki with Kim chee were excellent. Overall, a phenomenal experience with amazing food and excellent service.

Each dish was a pleasant surprise with unusual tastes. Sort of like tapas with an Asian edge. The scallops on top of sushi rice risotto was perfect. Grilled oysters were amazing and mouth watering. Grilled skewer of octopus was delectable but skimpy with two little skewers, the grilled Brussels sprouts were perfect, the lamb loin skewers were tender but on the skimpy side. Short rib buns were savory and scrumptious but a little too salty. The best dessert was the banana bread pudding with chunks of moist bananas wrapped in a banana leaf. Music was loud with long lines. We sat at the bar and service was excellent. Can’t wait to come back!

On a Sat night it is crowded but that being said really cool ambience… think futuristic Asian flare. We had their tasting menu which for $ 65 pp is a win. We had small plates of 8 different items which were all good. I recommend the edamame dumplings & the braised short ribs. I had the Pear Lycheetini which was delish!

Found 2 seats at the bar on a sat night, clutch. A friendly bartender who threw out superb suggestions, clutch. Food was served quickly and the presentation alone warmed my belly. We ordered the edamame dumplings, shishito peppers, kale salad, jalapeño spicy tuna and the miso glazed eggplant.(everything was so very good!) The bartender, aside from making solid suggestions, wasn’t even grumpy when we ordered water… straight tap… no lemon. When I almost ordered a regular tuna roll she steered me towards the spicy tuna cracker. It had a solid amount of tuna, jalapeño, and sat atop the most magical cracker I’ve ever had. You’re welcome taste buds. Veggie heads, be happy, you’ll eat well here. Great experience all around. Beautiful décor, friendly efficient service and an empty wallet, thanks Borgata.

I came here for dinner on a Monday night, fully aware of the $ 7 Monday night room specials. The ambiance is dark but great. I ordered rolls from the Monday night special menu and I ordered the soup dumpling appetizer from the main menu. The rolls came out extremely fast and at various times. I got the impression that some of the popular rolls are pre made. I ordered the dynamite roll, spicy tuna and smoked Philly roll. All the rolls had a good flavor and the presentation was beautiful. My major problem was that the sushi rolls came out at different times and the soup dumplings came out after I was half way through eating the sushi rolls. Dinner for all parties at a table should be served at once and the appetizers should come out first. The soup dumplings were fresh made and had just the right amount of spice. I woukd highly recommend them. Our server was great and kept checking on us.
