Had lunch at the bar during a layover. Bartender was very proficient, beer was cold. Highly recommend the shrimp and grits. It was perfection, hands down BEST grits I’ve had in my life!!!

For an airport restaurant, Sweet Georgia’s is relatively good in the taste department, but the quality of food could be improved. One of my wings had remnants of feathers. Another had a bone-hard tumor that left almost the entire wing inedible. The waitress was pretty good. She gave us a lot of lemons with our water as well as refills.

Easily one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I have ever had. Been back to this place twice now and it was outstanding both times. The gumbo was good too. Get over to Terminal C if you’re at ATL!

Of all the choices in concourse C, I should’ve picked another one. All I wanted was a bowl of veggie soup. Not only was it cold, but a can of Campbell’s would taste better. To top it off, they brought me a fork to eat it with. Well at least the beer I had was a slightly cold.

I ordered scrambled eggs, specifically without cheese(waitress asked me twice), grits, and fried chicken. I got scrambled eggs with cheese, potatoes, and bacon. It went downhill from there. The meal was mediocre, with undercooked eggs, weird sweet yet bland grits, and chicken more crunchy than flavorful. The tea was good. The wait staff was AWFUL. I had to ask twice for tea– which was pretty good — and then ask twice for a refill. The place isn’t very big but the server wouldn’t make a trip just for one item so only brought tea when she had a big tray of beverages for another table. Recommendation: This is not real Southern cooking. Take the airport tram over to Gate B or D and eat at Popeye’s.

After an entire weekend seminar in a hotel with their catered food, I damn sure wasn’t leaving Atlanta without some southern cuisine. My seminar ended early and my flight was slightly delayed, so I had some time to kill at the airport. Since I had this time, I was specifically searching for somewhere that I could sit down and eat, rather than grab and go sit at my gate. Sweet Georgia’s was at the opposite end of the terminal where I needed to be, but I was happy to find it. There wasn’t a line when I got there, but there were a lot of people already inside. I was able to get a table right away and my server came within minutes after I sat down. I ordered the Miss Ceely’s punch moonshine cocktail with strawberry moonshine and fried chicken & collard greens. My food came out before my cocktail, so I got started on that right away. The food was a bit salty for my Yankee palate, but it was still very flavorful. Drink some water and keep on eating! The chicken was fried crispy and the meat was very juicy. The greens were also fantastic. Now I didn’t forget about that moonshine cocktail I mentioned. I had very low expectations since it’s moonshine at an airport, but HOLYCRAP! The first sip told me right away that this was gonna be an interesting ride to the bottom of the mason jar(because how else would you serve a moonshine cocktail?). It was very strong, but equally delicious and I enjoyed every sip. I kept having to check my watch to make sure I wasn’t getting too comfortable and end up missing my flight. Even though it was a little loud with the people, the atmosphere was great too. There were TVs with different sports games on and they had some really good music playing. I was very happy with this find and would definitely come back if I had some time to kill at the airport.

Not a bad place for some real food while you’re waiting at ATL. It can get crowded and when it does you’ll want to budget some extra time to eat. Groups larger than 3 can get tricky for seating but if you’re on your own, this is the place to be!

Great music playing. The fried chicken was delicious. The beer was cold. What more could you ask for? The prices were high, but that’s the whole airport. It was full but not overflowing. Flew in Friday before Memorial Day and ate at 11:30 in C concourse.

Typical airport restaurant tucked in the far side of a terminal, which means less traffic on most occasions. I ended up here for breakfast one morning and was promptly sat and given a menu. While the restaurant was decently empty and the wait staff seemed to be fairly bored, it did take a few minutes longer that I would have expected for someone to actually offer me service. I was quick to order and decided on the chicken biscuit with cheese grits as a side. Once the order was place, the turnover time was good and fairly quick. The chicken biscuit itself was of good size, hot, crispy and was quite tasty. The grits were nothing special, but they definitely hit the spot. I have yet to dine here for lunch or dinner, but if back on the concourse during breakfast hours, Juke Joint will definitely be on the list to swing in prior to take off.

When going to a restaurant in the airport, one does not expect good quality, but that is not true for this restaurant. I ordered the fried chicken with smoked Mac and cheese, and it was so delicious. I ordered this dish because the menu said it was a Zagat’s Best Buy. I was able to choose white or dark meat, and it had a very tasty sauce drizzled over it, the consistency of a salad dressing, but wow did it add flavor to the chicken. It was sweet like maple and also had some spice. The Mac and cheese was also so nicely flavored, but the noodles were a bit soggy. Maybe their quality comes because they are a local restaurant and not an airport chain. The meal was $ 14, which I thought was a little pricey, but I guess that’s par for the course at the airport. If you have the time for a sit down meal, I recommend Juke Joint. Can you really go wrong at a restaurant playing vintage Luther Vandross musical videos?!

In the world of airport food franchises, you could do a lot worse. The menu here is limited compared to their stand alone locations, but the food was decent for the money. I ordered the juke joint fried chicken, and found the chicken to be quite tasty, if a little too greasy(yeah, i know… it’s fried). The side of collard greens was OK, but nothing to write home about. Overall, not a bad meal for $ 13.

Airport was packed and Juke Joint was a ways from my gate– but only place I could sit and have a beer with lunch. Restaurant was crowded– we’re at an airport– but got a table quick and got greeted quick. Asked the server what people come for and he said– you gotta get the chicken sandwich and fries . So I did, and a beer. Beer came quick and cold and food was not far behind. Had time to piddle with emails then the chicken landed in front of me. Being a foodie– I had to pick a crunchy off the chicken before I got ready and liked my first taste. The sandwich was VERY tasty and crunchy!!! I’d say it is one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve had. IT was really good and not too large of a meal before flying. The fries were hot and allowed me to salt and pepper to taste. Very good as well. Kind of loud in there since it was packed but I didn’t care, it was good, not outrageous in price, and the server kept reminding me to try out the new downtown location. I think I will take his word and find me some foodies to join me for trip to Atlanta. When stuck in Concourse C again, will definitely go early and stop by but hope to try downtown. Something about the confidence in the server tells me this will be a great place!

Surprisingly good Cobb salads with Lots of cheese, bacon, meat. Caesar salad with salmon had a 10 – 12 oz salmon steak on top. All better than expected for the price. If you have time for sit-down good at the airport, it’s well worth it.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t usually associate good food and airports. So, when we found ourselves with a pretty decent layover around lunch time at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, we figured it would be some sort of fast food. Then we stumbled upon Sweet Geogia’s Juke Joint. There are lots of tables, but it surprisingly doesn’t feel crowded. We found a small two top table. We were waited on immediately and chose the Fried Chicken with Two Sides for $ 12. I was hoping for something pretty good and what I got was not pretty good, it was great! The fried chicken was moist on the inside and extra crispy on the outside, just how I like it. The side salad was not your average side salad, it had greens, tomatoes, walnuts, and goat cheese! The mac and cheese was fantastic. It had a different sort of earthy essence to it, maybe thyme? Whatever it was, I loved it. My husband got the baked beans and they were also delicious — with obvious molasses flavors. The whole music and vibe of the place is very nice. Will definitely plan more longer layovers in Atlanta!

I have low expectations for airport eateries. However the service at this place was terrible. I sat for several minutes in an almost empty restaurant while servers gathered at the door and danced, talked and counted tips at tables. When someone finally acknowledged I was there, I was then asked to move to a smaller table because the table where I was sitting was for 3 or more guests. I pointed out that I needed to use the outlet and agreed to move if the restaurant began to fill up(it was almost completely empty). The server left and did not return. I eventually went to the group of servers singing and dancing to T-pain at the hostess stand and asked who my server was and if I could order. I was told«someone is your server.» At that time my server came up and gave the impression she was annoyed to have to serve me(e.g. No eye contact, scowl on her face, walked away before I could finish ordering, huffed when dropping off my food). I apologized for the inconvenience and asked for a water. My server responded«it’s fine this is what I’m paid to do» I’ve eaten here and at the original and the food is delicious.(Which is why I didn’t immediately leave) It’s a shame the servers are all professionals who obviously are not concerned about their place of employment. I hate to give one star just for service but I really feel this was exceptionally bad.

For an airport restaurant, this place was pretty good. I enjoyed my sausage, egg and cheese sandwich. The sausage was more along the lines of kielbasa, which was unexpected, but a very nice change of pace. The waitress was helpful and kind, making sure we had everything we needed. She recommended the shrimp and grits, which I think I might have to try next time if I find myself near Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint again.

Located in concourse c, they were crowded but still a few tables left. The tables are very close together and loud music. Prices are a bit high, typical of airport restaurants as they know you have no choice since airlines serve prepackaged crap. Having been out of the country for 6 days, and no food for many hours, we came here and service was prompt. I ordered the turkey club, hard to mess that up and lady next to me was raving about the Mac n cheese so got that for my side. It was southern style and quite yummy. Hubby ordered the fried chicken and it looked very greasy. Glad I gave up chicken years ago as I could foresee it laying heavy on the tummy. But I did enjoy my food so a– ok in my world.

Music is way to loud, good mix of music, it just needs to be background music, it’s not a night club. We are travelers that are tired and don’t need something rattling our brains. Food is something I would expect in a trying to be trendy hole in the wall. Some of its good, some it pretentious yuck. The nachos are OK, they really need real salsa to round them out. All in all its not a bad stop over place, however it could be a lot better.

For an airport joint, this place is pretty good! Decent bar options and the food is good for a southern style bite that doesn’t leave you too full and miserable for days. My mom and I each got sandwiches — she the club, and I the salmon sandwich. Both were great, but we didn’t have as much time to eat them as we’d hoped as the food took a while to come out. I understand we were pushing it with just about 40 minutes until we needed to be at the gate(luckily right across from the restaurant), but we really weren’t expecting the sandwiches to take 15 – 20 minutes to come out. Regardless, if you’re looking for a nice spot to sit and eat rather than having to grab something on the go, this is a good option!

Perhaps a «one off», but after my last raving review, I had to update tonight’s pitiful experience. Worst service I’ve encountered in a year+ at any restaurant. Food looked good but tasted average. Maybe in a year or two I’ll check back to see if others gave it a better review. Sorry…try somewhere else.

I stopped here while in the airport waiting for my flight. I am so glad I did. It was like a time warp back to high school with classic R&B music playing. I didn’t know whether to eat or dance. I had the pulled pork sandwich and mac&cheese. It was the bomb diggidy #90sKid! I ordered the peach cobbler to go just so I could have a slice of heaven later. The moonshine iced tea(I can’t think of the name they gave it) was awesome. I loved how they served it in a mason jar with a handle. They even had a giant TV screen showing tennis. I hated to leave but my flight was called. If I ever fly into Atlanta again I’m making sure I have a long enough lay over to go to Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint again.

My food LOOKED good in the picture but the chicken was GREASY. First off, I had to beg to even get the chicken and waffles. They were«Out» of chicken for the chicken and waffles. So I asked the server can I just have their regular chicken with a waffle. He stated that this could not occur because the pieces were larger. After debating with the manager, she agreed. As stated before, chicken wasn’t too tasty. Greens were just … ughhhh … not really seasoned. Mac & cheese… it was a no go as well. I joked a few weeks ago as we walked past this place… Me: «Bae, let’s get lunch real quick while we wait for the plane»… Bae: *looked at me like«b*&%! please*

This was a airport stop, so expectations where not high here; all I wanted was a sit down meal at a chain restaurant of average airport quality and this is what I got. I got a large amount of food for what I paid and the food was greasy and filling, just what I had in mind. I got the fried chicken which came with fried green tomato & Mac n Cheese sides. The Mac, cheesy and fully carb loaded was hands down my favorite. On the other hand the fried green tomatoes just didn’t taste as crispy and fresh as they should’ve, and the classic chicken was a little lackluster in flavor despite being well done. Still, as a airport stop in Atlanta this is probably one of the better bets in this terminal, if only because you get to sit down and watch vintage Beyoncé concert playbacks as you wait for your food to come.

The trend of finding actual *good* food and service at airport restaurants is quite refreshing. We had layovers on both legs of our trip, and ended up in the same terminal both times. The steakhouse that closer to our gate had no interest in seating us the first time or giving us any indication how long the wait would be the second time, so both trips we headed across the terminal to Sweet Georgia’s. The specialty drinks(mostly moonshine based) are very good; I had a couple of different peach/cranberry/frou-frou combinations and all were great. They do charge a bit of a premium for their signature drinks(in the $ 10 – 12 range), but nothing startling. On our first pass through, we didn’t have time for a proper meal, so we got a couple of sides to much on. The mac and cheese was so good that we ordered another round of it to go so we could finish it as we boarded our flight. The second trip had a longer layover, so we were able to order the fried chicken(again with the mac on the side). The breading was delicious and the chicken was perfectly cooked. During both stops, our servers were super friendly and helpful, doing everything they could to accommodate our and our neighbors’ travel schedules. Again, the pricing is a little more than you would pay on the street, but far from the usual airport robbery pricing we have all gotten used to($ 8 big mac, anyone?). And the service and food quality make it worth getting to whenever we’re stuck in ATL.

Wow! What a flavor explosion… and all from an airport restaurant! This is as good as it gets when it comes to airport dining, so check it out if you’re in Atlanta and have a long layover. Tony and I both tried the fried chicken sandwich after seeing it on Unilocal!,and it was really as good as everyone says. The fried chicken on this baby was tender and seasoned just right! In both of our opinions, it’s definitely a must have. As for sides, we tried both the fries and the cheese grits – both yummy! If you’re looking for a quick drink, this place features a great draft beer selection. I also hear their mixed drinks are unique and yummy, but I didn’t try any out. The atmosphere is typical for an airport restaurant(tight seating and a bit noisy)… but this place does have a large-screen projection of vintage R&B music performances playing in the background. Very cool.

I had an hour and a half downtime on my connection so I grabbed an early lunch here before continuing my trek to Jackson, MS. It wasn’t too packed, and I took over two small tables so I could stretch out and pull out my laptop to get a little work done. Free WiFi… score! I went with the fried chicken sandwich — because, well… Georgia. It was really good. I washed it all down with a sweet tea — because, well… Georgia. My server was super friendly — and the food came out super fast. I know airport spots are conditioned to crank out the food as fast as possible as to not inconvenience travelers — but this was the fastests I’ve ever gotten my food. I clanked on my laptop keys for a good hour after finishing eating and never felt pressured to leave. As a matter of fact I got some sweet tea refills while waited. Thank you for the hospitality — and filling my belly. I didn’t eat till a VERY late dinner(small) that night because I was so stuffed.

I don’t understand this establishment, yet I kind of admire it for its confusion. The walls are adorn with old vinyl covers. You may expect then that the tunes that pour out overhead, drowning the airport noise, would be reminiscent of these oldies. Not the case! Rap, hip-hop, and R&B primarily from the early 2000’s blast overhead, creating a seemingly out of place«club atmosphere.» The food is typically Southern — fried chicken and shrimp & grits are featured. The shrimp and grips, although visually unappealing having been doused with a heavy pour of oil before service, were delightfully rich and the shrimp had surprisingly superior cookery. Overall, a good place to tuck into a calorie dense meal before your flight.

Good place to get a quick bite to eat in Atlanta Airport located in the C Terminal. Service was quick, and my Chicken Waffles came out in about 15 minutes. It’s a good thing especially if you only have an hour for a connecting flight! Price is reasonable. My order came to about $ 16 including tip. Waffles was so-so, but my chicken wings were fantastic. Overall, I’d come back and dine in here again whenever I’m in Atlanta. Oh yea, make sure you read the menu first before sitting down, this will save you a lot of time. Just saying! Until then, Cheers! ~ :p

This seemed like a promising stop on the concourse. Every seat inside was taken and there were a handful of people waiting in line for a table. It was awkward waiting in a line that stretched out into the walkway and it felt like we might be there for a while. Other diners looked pretty settled in – like they weren’t leaving any time soon.
We decided to place to-go orders instead. They were all out of Mac and Cheese so I ordered a cup of Signature Seafood Gumbo for myself and a Chicken and Waffle for my son. Good thing we had time to kill or else we would have missed either the food or the flight. It took almost half an hour before our food was ready. Half an hour! You would think that after waiting so long I’d be too hungry to balk at the food. But the gumbo was bad and I was embarrassed for them for serving it.(As the German say, fremdschämen.) The go-cup cup was filled 2⁄3 with rice and 1⁄3 with«gumbo» and for the cost that was unacceptable. Except that it wasn’t really gumbo at all. It was a clotted gravy that(for something titled«Signature Seafood») was heavy on sausage and light on aquatic life. I was annoyed and too hungry not to eat it. The absolute worst moment came when I scraped down to the bottom and noticed a trail of powder streaked across the cup seam. It reminded me of what happens sometimes with instant cup of soup when you don’t stir the mix and water together well enough. Shame on them for serving that sludge of powdered origin to unsuspecting customers and calling it gumbo. The only reason I’m giving two stars is because my son happily devoured his chicken and waffles. To each his own but the next time I’m in Hartsfield Jackson, Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint won’t even be a second thought.

After a prepackaged, bland turkey sandwich for lunch I was on a quest for a trip to flavor town. Juke Joint was mostly a pleasure, a trip down memory lane of sorts. While customers had their faces glued to the projector screen tv for March madness, I simply wished for a hot meal and nothing more. I ordered their self-proclaimed signature fried chicken, which came with two sides. I chose fried green tomatoes and Parmesan cheese grits. Being Italian, I’m a sucker for anything Parmesan related, even if paired with a southern staple. However, the grits were cold and left no impact on my eager tongue. The fried chicken was above average, a little fatty, but nonetheless the flavor was present. The sauce tasted of a sweet maple and molasses glaze. The fried green tomatoes were topped with a crumbly cheese and a spicy mayo of sorts. Overall, I was satisfied with my meal. The waitress was attentive and I left her a generous tip. The vinyl records on the wall in addition to a jukebox are enough to make me return if I visit Atlanta Int’l Airport in the future.
