Roots Organic Gourmet

PLEASE BE AWARE: THIS IS THE ROOTS FACTORY. It is not a café, it is not a restaurant, there is no store front.
Someone wonderful decided to add this listing to Unilocal,and although you can’t visit Roots, you can pick up their delicious hummus and dips at nearly any market around town.
I’ve always been a fan of hummus, but once I had Roots’ Red Pepper hummus, I felt as though a long search had concluded. This, this, this is what hummus should taste like. It’s freaking perfect.
Other awesome flavors are the Oil Free (if you’re looking for a low fat snack), the Sriacha Mango, and the Thai Coconut, all awesome and delicious.
My refrigerator always has at least one container of Roots hummus in it at all times. It’s a great snack, and wonderful to share when unexpected company drops by.

Here’s a tip, the cheapest place to pick up Roots Hummus is at the Hopey & Co. on French Broad.

Great food, small menu, lots of natural salads and vegetarian options.
Outdoor seating in the River Arts District… only other places to eat as of now are 12 Bones and Clingman Ave. Café. This place adds a nice sandwich, burger, wrap, salad option… and everything that I’ve tried is great.
The Med platter, Burger and (if they have it on special) the Hot Roast Beef Wrap.
