Great experience for my first time here. With help from the waitress we were able to choose a perfect tea for the table. Some sort of Oolong Tea grown out of rocks or something. And it tasted fantastic. 2 of the 3 of us were novice to this nice tea place so we appreciated the guidance. Seemed like no one was there but after further review we found that there were some quiet more private spots in the back and most of it was taken. No worry as we enjoyed having a great view of the people walking by in the well lit front. What was especially great was that a small teapot of tea that we were able to refill a second time and have a second tasty batch was under $ 10 for all 3 of us. We also had the butter bean hummas plate with vegetables. It was outstanding! Perfect respite for us on this gold Asheville day. Next time I am in town, I will be back!

Large variety of teas, low lighting, calm music, multiple seating areas. Ambiance = two thumbs up

Amazing Ambience ! Felt like the Indian subcontinent. I tried a new moon — a yerba mate drink and loved it. The variety is phenomenal ! My friend had the masala chai which was awesome as well. Must visit. One of the best tea shops ever !

If you love tea, this place is perfect! If you are easily intimidated by menus, this place is not for you. I enjoyed everything about this place but the menu can be seen as a virtue and a vice of the place. They literally hand you a book! I don’t know much about tea so it was slightly intimidating but they do give you all the information you would ever need to learn and try something new. I enjoyed the Memories of Prague — comes with milk and honey. Great combination. The restaurant has many different types of seating options, tables, benches, floor seating, etc. definitely a good place for something different.

I love this place and although the atmosphere is great and the help is usually good, I recently called and the help was, well, not every helpful– borderline rude actually. I bought a couple of the small tea bag samples and couldn’t find them when I returned home(which is several hours outside of Asheville) and just wanted to know if anyone had happened to see them out on one of the tables, etc. The guys I spoke with just said, «I don’t know what to tell you» without offering any form of help or courtesy. Not sure if they were new, but I didn’t appreciate being dealt with so curtly over such a small, simple matter. I actually had to push just to have them try and ask anyone else from staff about it. Very disappointed. This was always a regular stop whenever we were in Asheville, but if this is the way the staff is going, I’m not sure if I’ll be back.

We stopped by at the recommendation of a friend. It was quite nice. I ordered the Chai Chai Chai(decaf). It was really tasty. Every person was very happy with their drinks. We sat in the back in the floor table area, it was kind of a pain to keep taking my shoes on and off. I would come back for teas, but maybe id sit in the front area.

Absolute 5 star place! The selection of teas, the quality, the great service, the atmosphere. Loved it! When I’m in town again, I’d love to stop by for another afternoon tea session!

I loved this place. The inside is amazing, a mix of all cultures just like all the tea they are proposing. We had the oriental mint tea(forgot the fancy name on the menu), it was awesome. Served with oriental tea pot and glasses. Shared with a friend while we chillaxed in the oriental room. We were the kings of the world during a few minutes. This is definitely a place I would hang out if I was living in Ashville. I will definitely go back when I travel there.

Cute little tea room in downtown Asheville. We were trying to get out of the rain and the French Broad Chocolate company mentioned they used the tea from them in a chocolate bar. I tried a black tea that was a Chinese tea. It was a very strong flavor so I was glad I had asked for an almond milk addition.

Love it. Go here if you want to try some tea you’ve never tried or get a delicious Bubble Tea and not be judged when they show you how to drink it/pour it. The tea book they give you is really helpful, too. Can be a cool date, especially if you land some prime seating.

Dobra tea is not a place children would enjoy or anyone who isn’t in love with tea. The seating is fun but the menu is overly long and takes forever to got through. We ordered the New Moon Tea and the Simply Southern Tea. The new moon was pretty good but the simply southern was very bland. One thing that bothered me is that they didn’t offer any kind of sugar for the very bland tea which made is unfriendly for un tea drinkers such as me.

We were visiting Asheville and decided to try this place because we saw they had bubble tea. It’s a shame, because the tea was expensive, tasted like watered down milk, and the boba was oddly sweet and mushy. Can’t speak to the other teas, but I recommend avoiding the bubble tea. Also, totally agree with the«you’re not cool enough to hang out here» vibe from the waitstaff that other people have mentioned. We couldn’t take our crappy to-go teas and get out of there fast enough.

One word — LOVE! I felt in complete harmony as soon as I sat down here. The sign said to take off your shoes and have a seat, so we did! We were lucky because it wasn’t that busy or loud and we had no one sitting around us. The menu was huge, so overwhelming that I just told my boyfriend to pick a tea. I doubt there are any bad teas here. When you are ready to order, they give you a bell to ring(which yes, made us feel snobby, but hey… it worked!) We shared a pot of tea, relaxed in the dim lit tea room with candles and soothing music. It was the perfect mid-day relaxation. When in Asheville, do not miss this magical place.

We dropped by this building where the room was filled with earthy tea scents and we’re delighted to find the variety of rooms available to sit and enjoy the relaxed mellow setting. Our teas were rich with earthy delicate blends and we were very satisfied in stopping by. One dollar purchase as a minimum for credit card, staff was kind and helpful to the choices. LOVEDTHEDECOR!

Dobra is a perfectly satisfactory tea joint. It has a nice location in the heart of Lex Ave that makes it very convenient to tourists and locals alike. The staff is smart about tea, sometimes a little aloof, but always helpful. For all y’all people on the«Asheville Diet»(no gluten, no sugar, no lactose, extra spirulina and stevia please) Dobra is a very nice location to hang out because they’re totally on your wavelength, and they will gladly cater to your every need. For people like me, who prefer a bit more debauch with their afternoon tea, Dobra is simply trying too hard to be virtuous. Their mood is a little too mellow. Their ordering system is byzantine(and involves bells). Their décor, which was probably trying to look exotic, just reads as kitschy to me, and their tea is sometimes just a hair too watery. That being said, it’s a really nice place to spend a quiet afternoon. The pace is slow, nobody will try to move you from your perch. And throughout the course of the day, the whole population of Asheville is likely to pass through the doors at least once. Everyone in Asheville except me.

Though I am not the world’s most avid tea-drinker, I’m definitely a fan of Dobra. Probably one of the few respites like it in all of Asheville, too. Not only is the tea wonderful, but you really do get to choose your own version of «experiencing» your tea. You can enjoy it at one of the front, bistro-style tables, at one of the larger booth seats, or in the back for a more relaxed, Japanese-style tea room. One of my favorite parts of this place was seeing all of the shoes piled up near the back where everyone was lounging about and enjoying their tea in the cushy rooms. It just felt like a living room. The menu is rather extensive. More teas than your mind has room for! Pick your poison, folks. I was happy to see that there was boba tea on the menu and I happily ordered the Oolong with whole milk and tapioca pearls. Served in a pint glass and a wide straw. It was delicious. I was also happy that it was pumped full of sugar or anything else. I will say that Dobra is much more suited for relaxing and not working. If you’re looking for more of a coffee shop vibe and table, you’d be better off going next door to Izzy’s. I’d recommend heading to Dobra for a quiet afternoon of tea and conversation.

This is one of my favorite places to come to get work done or sit with friends and relax. The atmosphere is very soothing, seating is ample and the servers are wonderful. The menu is over 80 pages, so there is certainly something to be had for everyone. Even if you are not generally a tea drinker, I encourage you to try Dobra out — they can help you find your taste.

Nice little tea room with a Turkish feel. Has a back tea room that offers drinkers a chance to sit in a cushioned area and drink off of low tables… Remember to take off your shoes! Cozy little place that makes me want to read and nap.
