Best Burgers in town! Recently moved here, and found this gem! They have half price Burgers from 12−2pm everyday. Well worth it!

I haven’t reviewed this place yet? Weird! Huge fan of the L.A. Woman burger — I like it so much that don’t really order anything else. You can’t really go wrong with bacon, mushrooms, onions, and bbq sauce… I used to be a medium-rare-everythang kinda girl, but as I get older I try to be more sensible in my food choices and go with the recommended medium for ground beef… It doesn’t take away from the burger, though: These are as juicy as they come! They had a sign outside advertising half-priced burgers for lunch, but I had ordered mine through GrubHub so no deal. But $ 6 for that burger is pretty dang sweet, so no heartache. Skip the fries — not sure what the deal is with those, but for the second time in a row they’ve been pale and kinda sad.

It was an off night! We usually love this place, but our server seemed to throw everthing at us. The burgers were half decent(we didn’t get to request how well we wanted the burgers cooked), the fries were dry and not very fresh. They forgot my baked potato and one of our wing order had only 5 wings. We received our beers towards the end of our meal, only 4 of 7 of us had silverware, and to top it off the check skid across the table as it was tossed. Gosh, the kid was really taking his anger out on us that night. We understand that people sometimes have bad nights but rudeness and cutting off your customers while they are ordering and responses like, «whatever,» are simply impolite. As customers we should not have our guests fetching napkins, condiments and silverware. We will return again, but we will request one of the other lovely servers when we return.

This is a pretty great bar. It’s not quite a dive bar, but about as close as you can get in Arlington. In practical terms, that means a mix of different kinds of people, and a lack of judgment or pretense which I find pretty refreshing. Definitely a good place to just go and have a good time without trying to worry about how cool you are. The DJ does a wonderful job at karaōke, and everyone seems to have plenty of chances to sing. I’ve only been on Saturday, but hear that on Thursday it’s a pretty light crowd with even more opportunity.

Now that I am no longer 21 years old, LA Bar and Grill has really grown on me. It’s a spot where a high five is always met with another high five. Strangers buy you drinks with no pretension and everybody is seriously friendly! And talented to boot! Their Saturday karaōke night is one of the best in town. From Salt and Peppa to Willie Nelson, these locals will always keep you guessing with their unique song choices that will keep you grooving right until last call. For those looking for some food to go with their tunes, you can’t go wrong with their burgers and onion rings(especially when they are half off and the bartenders are always happy to pour you another drink. This is honest to goodness simplicity at it’s finest and one of the only working class bars left in Arlington. If you’re looking for low key fun than I’ll see you there! PS: I’m looking for a duet partner for«Love Lifts Us Where We Belong.» Please inquire within.

This is the best neighborhood bar in the area. GREAT staff, GREAT service, and a GREAT vibe. The new menu is really good and the happy hour is on point. This is a laid back, no frills joint, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a good meal and a good beer or cocktail served with a smile.

THEYRUINED A GOODTHING. This place used to be great — a cozy, fun hole-in-the-wall with fantastic burgers, especially on half-price Wednesdays. Not any more, it’s under new management, and it’s awful now. I’m not going back. They raised prices, did away with Half Price night, and the burgers themselves are now very clearly Bubba Burgers. I just… can’t even believe the audacity to raise prices and drop quality at the same time. Meanwhile, the menu is now forced-fancy. Shrimp kebabs, sauteed asparagus, things like that… which would be fine, except it’s A HOLEINTHEWALL. Management came in, wanted to do what they wanted to do, and they ruined this place. I will never go back, and I know a dozen people who feel the same way. Our waitress even APOLOGIZED for the changes, calling them«terrible» and«absurd» and saying they«make no sense.» AVOIDTHISPLACE, go anywhere else. You’ll be glad you did.

Are you from a small town and miss the feel of your favorite hometown bar? Then this is the place for you. From the dart boards to the worn down wood on the bar this place has everything you need to feel right at home. Prices are very competitive. Only thing that’s missing from this place is a pool table.

This place sucks. The food is atrocious, the beers is pricey and not high end. They have 6 flat panel TVs but none of them show hi def. Karaōke is painful and the bar is crowded with trashy people. Not even a good dive.

Review is for Karaōke Thursday Only. Karaōke starts at 7pm and happy hour lasts til 8pm. You walk in and 1st impression is «Dive Bar,» but the food is great, drinks are strong, prices are cheap, and service is very friendly! What more can you ask of a local dive bar? The karaōke is top notch too, loads of fun!

Huge stomping ground for karaōke fans. Small neighborhood bar, nothing fancy, very laid back and casual. The karaōke DJ does a great job keeping the energy up. He has tons of songs on file which you can make a selection from one of the i-pads loaded with all the song lists. This place can get super packed on a Saturday night. Better to go on an off night when the wait is shorter or early to get on the list. Low pressure and laid back. If you’re into karaōke, this place is a must!

The drinks were strong and the hamburger was pretty big and good. It is not the cleanest place but what do you expect for a dive bar. Most of the karaōke singers are good. They have darts too which I like but for some reason they put a table near where you stand.

Favorite local bar on the pike. Cheers type atmosphere for the regulars. Kyle, Victor Charles are the best.

This may be my favorite karaōke dive in Virginia. Be prepared to compete for time at the mic, as many regulars regulate the floor for their share of the singing pie. In typical karaōke fashion, not everyone is born equal in voice quality, but everyone is born equally in fun. Some of my more enjoyable nights during my 6 years in VA occured in this bar. The place is a mix of old salty regulars that belly up. The open seating area is for singing buffs. The booths are for people who are just trying the place out. Personally I float between all areas. Luis is the karaōke master and his book is extensive. The downfall to the extensive list is there are some songs that go waaaayyy too long, like the spoof of American pie about star wars that some guy sang. It was funny for maybe negative seconds. Not hating on star wars, although when a bunch of people want to sing, an 8 minute song or longer is a bummer to both regulars and first timers who want to sing. This one woman really was afraid and put her name in, then the huge time gap between writing her name and her song getting called scared her away. We need to keep the energy level high and not scare away those that want to sing! Long songs aside five stars otherwise.

My friends and I just left this bar disgusted and in shock. We arrived around 1245am and ordered wings, mozzarella sticks, and fried pickles. All of the food initially tasted good until I peeled apart one of my wings and the chicken was really red and unusual looking, and the remainder of the wings i checked were the same. My friend who was also consuming the wings said the redness looked like the chicken was freezer burned. We both put the wings down. The fried pickles were good so I brought the wings to the server/bartender’s(he was the only one working) attention and asked if I can replace my wings, which he agreed to. He went back to prepare my order but my friend wanted to add an order of mozzarella sticks so she ran over by the kitchen to let our server know. She instead returned to our table stating that we had to leave. She said she witnessed the server reaching into the bag of fried pickles with his bare hands(after he was cleaning his bar), and also saw that the kitchen was in terrible condition. We politely asked to cancel our order and grab the check. One positive note was that the server was kind, and we do not blame him for the food. But we will definitely never be returning again.

Four words: hole in da wall. My friend thought coming here would be a great idea since they have a pretty awful karaōke night on Saturdays. They have stepped up their security game too with the addition of a big ass bouncer to tame all the bar brawls over shitty karaōke songs. The bartender seemed a little flustered as a couple of the beer taps kept busting on him or something. He’s not the normal guy back there I hear. Also, I understand this is a divey place but for the love, please carry at least one wheat beer(Blue Moon or Shocktop anyone?). For the chics. I was forced to drink cider. No bueno. It was a pretty packed house for a Satuday night filled with all of Columbia Pike’s finest. I imagine returning strictly for entertainment value alone.

My new go to place for a late night meal, and good times! The chili rocks and pairs shockingly well with their quite nice shiraz(something a regular there suggested — thank you JIM!); Always friendly, and welcoming, no matter the hour!

Came here this past Saturday to meet up with a few friends for a casual Karaōke night out in Columbia Pike. Little did I know that this place had some extremely talented regulars bringing the house down! I was thoroughly impressed by the patrons’ pipes and casual dancing skills. They seemed more like performers than patrons. Drink specials seemed reasonable for a neighborhood dive bar, but I didn’t get to take advantage of them due to my late night arrival. If I lived closer, this would be my regular, low-key, neighborhood spot. That is soaring praise for a dive bar(couldn’t help myself).

It’s a dive bar with no frills just real good food and authentic service. BF and I came around 7:30pm Friday night after a day of moving into this neighborhood off Columbia Pike. Starving and in need for a drink after a long day, I ordered chili and a grilled chicken sandwich. BF got the chicken pinkies which was still a healthy portion for small bites. He loved it– it was hit and tender yet crispy chicken with the honey mustard sauce. I enjoyed the chili just the way it should be– raw onions and shredded cheese with a few jalapeño for a kick. The chicken sandwich was deliciously tender. All to be washed down with an All American Bud Light($ 1 off happy hour until 8pm). A satisfying meal at a bargain price. This will be one of our hit spots in our new ‘hood. There was a live band setting up but we were too tired to stay. Next time!

Good food and great prices. I had the ribs and they were spectacular. Pulled pork is awesome too. House wings were good and the fried pickles got raves from my friends at the table. Not much to look at, but if that doesn’t matter to you, this place is it.

I love this dive bar. It is a hole in the wall off Columbia Pike. To get in, you need to walk around the back. Service is great — sometimes slow given there aren’t too many tables to serve, but I like it other than that. They have 2 darts board. Karaōke on Saturdays — worth it! Drinks are a great price whenever you come. Good small bar to go to if you feel like going to a dive bar. Background music is always good.

I love this place. I started coming here a couple of times a week when I moved to Arlington, mostly for their wings and burgers, which are half priced on Mondays and Wednesdays. There is a good selection of pub grub type food, and I haven’t found anything I didn’t like so far. In my opinion, this is the best place on the Columbia Pike to go for company. The staff are great people to shoot the shit with, and the people that frequent the bar are always good for conversation. It’s about as unpretentious as you can get…

I love LA Bar & Grill. $ 4 mixed drinks. $ 3.50 beers. Super divey and non-pretentious with a great staff. Food is decent, too — I’ve only had their grilled chicken sandwich with fries, but it was good. I only hate karaōke night(Saturday), because I hate karaōke.

Look out, I think I may have a new fav karaōke spot! This place was awesome and we had so much fun. It’s a small, dive-y spot in a strip mall-ish location off of Columbia Pike. Amble free parking so long as you arrive early enough. We arrived shortly after 7:30pm and the place was practically empty. Which means were were easily able to snag a booth. It’s a seat yourself kind of place. Karaōke didn’t just start on time, it started a few minutes early. And that like never happens in the karaōke world. But at 7:57pm, the host kicked off the night. And at this point, the place was still practically empty. So James O. was easily able to get his name on the list and sing several songs right off the bat. As the night went on, it got crazy packed. But it was never so packed that is was obnoxious or unbearable. It was just a fun, great crowd. It seemed to hit its prime around 10:00pm/11:00pm. We stayed until just after Midnight, and while the crowd was still going strong, it was starting to dwindle a bit. The beer list was quite meh. But they had Angry Orchard Cider and Sam Adams Seasonal, which while boring-ish, are nice drinkable beers that plied me with more than enough alcohol for the night. The menu was decent. Lots of a variety of offerings. Everything from crab cakes to chili dogs to hot wings. They even have wings so hot that you have to sign a waiver! I did not attempt those. All the food was reasonably priced and tasty enough. There’s not exactly servers here. It was more like one guy running around like mad trying to take care of everyone. But we never had to wait long for anything we wanted and he always offered more drinks, etc. whenever he ran by. So for dive-y bar with quite a crowd, the service was pretty good. The $ 10 cover thing was confusing. To me, cover means you pay at the door. Instead, think of it as a 2 drink minimum. You’ve got to eat or drink at least $ 10 worth. If you don’t, at the end of the night, you’ll get a $ 10 bill you have to pay. This was no problem at all for us. Our table of 3, spent about $ 50 on food and drinks. So more on the karaōke… The host was great. The song list was extensive. The set-up worked well. It moved at a fast pace. Everyone rotated fairly. And there were boring breaks. Definitely one of the best karaōke nights I’ve done in the DC area. We will be back!

I come here way too often. Karaōke is a guilty pleasure of mine, and with being so close to where I live, it is hard to resist my wonderful LA Bar and Grill. They have karaōke on Saturday nights from 8 – 11. Typically if you don’t get there before 9:30, you’re likely not going to get to sing because so many people sign up early. It is a ton of fun to be the singer or onlooker. Turns out most people who do get the courage to sing are pretty damn good. You rarely hear someone who is totally off key. You’re more likely to see people miss lyrics than sing horribly. Either way it is all in good fun. It is a small venue with plenty of standing room if you can’t get a table. They had decent food and drinks with a vast selection for any sort of bar patron who rolls in. Trust me you won’t have any complaints. Enjoy your visit when you’re on the Pike!

Ah, the lament over the loss of the local dive bar. I certainly appreciate that they had to do it — I mean, you can’t be a teenager forever. At some point, you end up that guy in the ratty clothes and stringy beard at the punk rock show staring menacingly at everyone. You spent your life partying on the cheap, not worrying about money or social niceties, and eventually you are old and have done nothing with your life. LA Bar and Grill has decided to do something with their life, shave their beard, cut their hair, and trade in the denim jacket with a Motorhead patch for a sensible pair of khakis. Cleaned up the interior, the menu, the staff — everything. The food is better(and tasty,) although the beer selection has suffered(hasta luego PBR.) The bar isn’t bad, and neither is the decision to clean it up a bit — in fact, it’s probably been great for them. I, however, still miss partying with the old dirtbag. Somewhat recommend, depending on where you want to do your drinking. I probably won’t be back.
