It was good, not great. The service was horrible from the moment we walked in. They weren’t busy and we have 3 servers and a bartender just stair at us as we waited to be seated by the invisible host. Once seated by another random server, we constantly had to ask for more water cause our server was never around. The French onion soup was good, but very oily. The clam chowder was very tasty. We tried the wings and well they were mediocre. The sauce was almost like it was from a shelf at the Giant grocery next door. Not impressed.

We ordered pick-up and were extremely disappointed. I ordered 2 burgers. I asked for them well done. The woman on the phone said they are always cooked with no red in them. It was the day after the snow storm, and we walked all the way there. When we went in, it was busy which is understandable. When we asked for our order the hostess rudely pointed to the bar, did not say anything at all. She barely even looked up. This over priced meal was a huge disappointment. We got all the way home, and started to eat. We then realized the burgers were practically raw. They were barely even browned! It was so disappointing and disgusting. Could not eat the burger, the mashed potatoes(they were out of fries) were also dry and flavorless. I have given them a few chances in the past. The first 2 times I have been there were very underwhelming as well. Skip the food here and go somewhere else. The Mexican restaurant next door is better.

This place has a great atmosphere and very good food. My favourite thing though… bar staff who could tell me about the awesome selection of local beers and make good recommendations. This is definitely a cool spot to head for a good pub meal and some excellent brews.

At the end of the day, William Jeffrey’s Tavern is a baseline for what you should look for in a sports bar. The space is really big, and the TVs are high def. Otherwise, my experience tells me that my home town of Chicago has about 300 sports bars that whoops this place’s behind! Came with a group for a six-person dinner. Everything I tried was average – my salmon, a hummus platter, burgers, the falafel wrap, the brussel sprouts, the cocktails, some french fries. Pair that with Northern Virginia prices and below-average service, and voila! A two-star review for a place that doesn’t seem to be aspiring to be much more than that. If you are hungry and standing next to this place, just walk down the street and eat at Lost Dog!

A great place for drinks, live music and thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere. I’ve been here before and was served by Johnny it was a great time. This time served by a girl with glasses and a elephant tattoo on her arm and really didn’t like the drinks and she didn’t care to fix it.

This is a great local bar. I’ve been here for brunch, late night and dinner. It has a good late night menu and the brunch is excellent. They’ve got a good selection of drinks on tap and the service has always been excellent every time. They also occasionally have live music, which is usually just a singer/guitarist. It’s nice because it’s never too over bearing and you can still have a conversation. Probably one of my favorite bars in Arlington, as it is generally low key and not in the craziness of Clarendon.

This place defines your average sports bar. A dozen TVs each playing something different and traditional American fare on the menu. They do try to be a little creative with the menu, but in my opinion you have to nail down the fundamentals before you add some zip. For example I got the burger and added the pork belly for $ 2. It was kind of nice to see something other than bacon for an option. The burger, which I ordered«medium to medium rare» came as well done as possible. Eating this burger was an absolute chore of chewy, overcooked meat. The only good quality was the pork belly on top which salvaged the sandwich from being inedible. The fries were good, hard to mess that up. Very interesting cocktails on the menu but we didn’t partake. A friend got the breakfast buffet which actually seemed very high quality — omelet and waffle station and some good looking sausage. The bacon was cooked inconsistently, some pieces well done and crispy and others that were floppy enough you wouldn’t want to eat them. My wife got the kale chicken Caesar which she was happy with, but a Caesar is a Caesar almost anywhere you go. OK spot in a pinch and good for groups since it’s a huge restaurant by Arlington standards.

W&Js has the best chicken wings I’ve ever had. Try the ‘hot’. They’re actually hot. At first the staff would check you when ordering ‘hot’ wings. «Sir, please know when we say hot, we mean hot.» They’ve stopped doing that, but be forewarned! Them wangs are HOT(and huge and tasty. Double fried, I do believe). That, plus the super cozy atmosphere, plus the fact Alexandria’s Port City Optimal Wit is on tap, plus the fact the rest of the menu is bangin’, plus the fact its not über expensive, plus the fact it’s within walking distance from my friend’s house, plus the fact one can watch football on Sundays, plus the fact the blonde bartender is gorgeous, plus the fact the staff is cool, W&Js gets 5 stars from me.

Came here to get brunch as Bob & Edith’s had a line out the door. We were terribly disappointed. First off, the service was meh. Our server didn’t even come by to make sure our food was to our liking. I got the Imperial Eggs benedict(with crab) and the boyfriend got Crispy Fried Chicken. We also got a side of donut. The donut was so-so. We expected a fresh, fried donut but it was not. It was probably made that morning but it was given to us cold. Dunkin donuts would have been better! My Eggs Benedict was meh too. On top of that, the hollandaise sauce was so salty that I couldn’t eat it(thank goodness I always get my sauces on the side) I prefer to dip my eggs in it. Anyway, I asked a random server for a new sauce and that was the same. It was so salty. The crispy fried chicken was just ok too. The highlight of our meal was the hashbrowns. They were so tasty, it reminded me of McDonald’s hashbrowns. lol. Not sure if we would come back here again. The interior was cute enough, nothing special though.

This is a local spot for us being that it’s down the street from our house. My husband has been a few times for dinner and I’ve been for drinks but this was my first dinner. The cocktails are great and my husband likes the wide array of beers. The watermelon cocktail is my favorite and I could drink quite a few of these tasty concoctions. Their food menu looked tasty as wells we tried the sides of Brussels sprouts and Mac n cheese. Both were well flavored, the Mac n cheese was deliciously cheesy. I ordered the mussels and fries which was tasty. The mussels had a cream/white wine garlic sauce that I enjoyed immensely. My husband got the buffalo chicken wrap which he loved. My in laws got the short ribs which they also really liked. The server was efficient and friendly. Overall, the drinks were awesome and the food was very good for a sports bar. We will definitely be back!

I’ve been here for brunch, dinner, and most recently Sunday football(they had all the games playing). Very casual and laid-back. the menu is a step up from standard bar food. I am a huge fan of their sriracha honey wings. so good! They don’t have chicken fingers on the menu, but I’ve had the buttermilk ranch chicken sandwich twice now and it does not disappoint. It’s not a small sandwich, so come hungry.

It’s a great bar with live music, a solid assortment of meals to choose from including daily specials and an extensive alcohol list. I’m a huge fan of their $ 1 oysters on Tuesday nights. One thing I truly appreciate about WJT is a lot of the original staff have been here since its opening. They remember your name and you remember theirs. It’s got that neighborhood bar feel and always has the game on. I love it here and a repeat customer when I’ve got money to support the habit. They are a little pricey on some items.

We live in the area and decided that this would be our Labor Day Brunch destination. The selection of the day was impressive — they were offering nearly every menu they had: brunch, breakfast, lunch and their Monday ½ price Burger special. The only thing they didn’t have was the waffle and omelette bar. We decided to go with a half price burger and the Dutch Baby. The burger was ok, and well worth it for Half Price Burger Monday. The Dutch Baby was delicious. It was cooked perfectly and the fruit topping was a wonderful balance between fresh fruit flavor and blueberry deliciousness — I will be back for another one of these!

William Jeffery’s was a surprising and tasty discovery. It is right off columbia pike, by the relatively new development. I went with a group of friends for dinner. It’s a decently sized space, with indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is very eclectic. You have burgers next to bahn mi, but mostly American food. There are also daily food specials as well as happy hour specials. I decided on a cocktail– a bourbon and peached mixed concoction which was delicious. A perfect summer cocktail and on happy hour. For dinner I decided on ordering the mac and cheese with bacon and chicken tortilla soup. The soup was just ok– nothing special. However, the mac and cheese was delicious. It was cheesy and made my belly happy. Our server was good and handled our big group of 9 quite well. We weren’t waiting too long and our food was served together. Ambiance is relaxed and definitely a tavern feel. It’s a good place to go for a good meal with friends.

Alright folks. We stumbled on this place from a friends recommendation. There was more than 10 of us hungry gorillas coming in on a Sunday afternoon after a long days hike in Great Falls. So you know we are grabbing a feast! Ambience: definitely casual. It was around 3pm on Sunday, there weren’t many customers actually. They have huge TVs by the bars for the sports lovers. Food: We ordered a ton of food but I’ll review what I ate Appetizer: Wings: Can’t go wrong with wings Grilled Flat Bread: Not my favorite because I thought it was rather bland Nachos: Oh Sweet Baby mama! please get these on your cheat days! Definitely my favorite from the appetizers Entre: Pulled Carolina Pork BBQ Sandwich: nothing out of the ordinary but its good. You can also substitute the side with Mac and cheese. I probably liked the Mac and Cheese better just because I’m a Mac and cheese guy. Service was great here, very attentive and friendly staff!

WJ’s is still my home away from home. They’ve had a few changes to their daily specials. Half price wine on Monday is no more. *sigh* I’ll miss you. Instead, it’s half price burgers on Monday. Lucky carnivores! So, due to the changes, check out their daily specials on the website. You won’t be disappointed. Good food, good service, good prices.

Came here because it’s near my apartment and my friend and I wanted to grab some food before we went to work for a STEM event. The food was really good. I got a burger with fries. I asked for avocados to be added to the burger. When I got my burger there was not avocado. I told my server and she was quick to bring me a side of avocado. I forgot what my burger was called but it had a sunny side up egg on it. :-). I felt the items were a little pricey so I’m glad the food tasted good. I’m new to the area so I asked the hostess what days were the best to come back and she said Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday for brunch. I’m excited for Sunday Brunch and I’m going to make sure I stop by for HH and dinner one day to get the whole experience.

A cool neighborhood bar in my neighborhood so convenient. Always packed when I walk by. I’ve been there twice — once for dinner I had a wrap and fries(loved the fries) and once for drinks. We sat by the«fire» and listened to live music/karaōke which was pretty darn good.

Seasonal Cocktails FTW! + Bourbon Hot Chocolate with handmade marshmallows + Mulled Wine + Hot Cider Toddys A friend and I stepped in to have a drink and ended up staying all night. I usually don’t venture far away from my standard G&T’s or Vodka Sodas but the bartender gave us samples of all their new winter drinks and I could not say no. Truly one of my favorite neighborhood bars!

I am definitely a fan. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We went in for a Saturday brunch and they had almost every major college game playing at the bar. There was a healthy number of people there but plenty of available seating — NOWAITING which is a HUGE plus to me. I loved the wood features and paneling, it added a grown up feel. There is some limited outdoor seating too for those nice days. The Eggs Benedict was absolutely outstanding. The WJT used a french bread as the base instead of english muffins and it was a definite improvement. The bar tender was friendly and attentive. I will definitely return, completely enjoyed the WJT!
