Decent bar food, average service, grilled wings were over seasoned and so was the grouper, décor was strip mall pub. Meh

This place has an awesome patio to enjoy in the summer time and they are dog friendly. Really good beer selection with a number of local things on draft. We got the mozzarella sticks which were incredible and the fish sandwich which was ok but a very thin piece of grouper so I dont think I would get it again. Service was good though and the prices were reasonable. Ill definitely be back to try more stuff and they have run club on Wednesdays!

I’ll make this short. Wings are great. Service is great, for the most part. Drinks are alright. Did I mention the service is great? lol. Place is pretty chill. Worth checking out.

Great place. Food is excellent. If you like wings, they’ve got some good ones. Also have poker and trivia games up on the screens. Kid friendly as well.

If you wear your trucker hat backwards, smoke and have a lot of tattoos, this is the place for you! A friend and I sat on the patio to try to get some fresh air — Fail because everybody was smoking out there. So much for fresh air… Heavily tattoo’d and scantily clad Millennial waitress couldn’t tell me what ales they had on tap… so I just ordered a Guinness… She even asked if I wanted a chilled glass. I thought that was pretty much a given, but I said«yes» anyway… You can’t screw up a Guinness, can you? Can you? Well, apparently you can. The Guinness came out in a can with a plastic cup on top. The waitress said they they ran out of real glasses — at 9 p.m. on a weeknight. Also, they had opened the can, which, of course activated the nitrogen widget … so when I poured it into my plastic cup it was pretty flat. The bottom of the can was even bulged out like it had botulism, so it wouldn’t even stand upright on the table. Drinking flat stout around a bunch of smokers doesn’t exactly make my nipples hard, so I doubt I’ll be going back any time soon.

Amazing food for a sports bar! Plus, the beer options are great as well. My favorite menu item: Zesty Fajita Wrap I can’t wait to visit JD’s again since it is so delicious!

Great place for any occasion. Great staff and great food. The wings, crispy or grilled, are the best in town!

Been here quite a few times. Food is always good(for bar food). I have had everything from a salad to the burger to chicken. Service has always been good. I like the music and music videos they play. I will definitely go back when I am in the area.

My husband and I returned to JD’s a few weeks ago and tried their grilled wings and the Cuban. The wings were big, juicy and cooked to perfection. We got them«hot» and it’s a slow burn heat… just be warned. My hubby said the Cuban is the best one he has ever had. We will put JD’s in our restaurant rotation.

I don’t know why it has taken me so long to try JD’s. Perhaps I figured it was probably just the same as the Fox and Hound, Ale House or Doherty’s. In my opinion the service is better at JD’s than these other places but the food is where JD’s sets itself apart. Their slow roasted chicken wings are just as described on the menu. Fall off the bone tender and the sauce is legit. When the waitress tells you hot is HOT believe her. This isn’t the same Franks most places use. They also have something called buffalo cheese fries. It’s their same buffalo sauce coated on the fries smothered in cheese and bacon. Some how a genius has found a way to cover fries with buffalo sauce and keep them crunchy. I’m not sure if they coat the fries when they are frozen or what. Whatever they do it’s magic. While I was devouring my wings I gave a jealous eye to the pita my wife was eating. It looked great. Even my kids cheese pizza looked good. I can’t wait to get back to JD’s to try some of their other things on the menu. Give JD’s a try if you’re looking for a laid back sports bar with a fun atmosphere.

Ate here twice in five days and didn’t have anything bad. Super nice staff. Fun place to watch Panthers games.

This seems to me to be a man’s bar. I hadn’t ever been in a man’s bar before. Even hooters isn’t a man’s bar. But JD’s is definitely a MANSBAR. The TV’s were up so loud you couldn’t even yell over them. The food was mediocre and lacking in actual flavor. I was also pretty significantly outnumbered by men being one of maybe two women(aside from employees) in a packed bar. I just don’t think this is ‘my type of place’ and don’t see myself ever going back. They didn’t even have decent liquor specials that night. I’ll pass. If you are a guy who wants to drink beer and sit and watch BLARING loud tvs and not have to speak to anyone and eat food that tastes like stouffers… JD’s will be your go to.

Great spot-especially for NFL and college games. Plenty of TVs with a variety of games on. Sunday we were here for lunch there were a bunch of fans from different teams. Good food menu– wraps/paninis/burgers/wings. Local craft breweries are well represented. Been in business for 4 years and can see why this place is a local favorite. Service was quick, friendly and attentive. Fun atmosphere– would return.

I didn’t feel like cooking dinner the other night so we wandered out looking for a meal. We had burgers in mind and after consulting Unilocal, decided to try JD’s. We live close by but have never been. The atmosphere was a mix of local bar, sports bar and a Friday’s. The service was very friendly. The atmosphere was comfortable but a bit distracting with all of the TVs and music. I ordered the patty melt, my wife the philly cheesesteak and my daughter the boneless wings. I liked the patty melt and the sweet potato tots that I got with it. The menu, especially when it comes to build your own burgers and sides, is very appealing and reasonably priced. I snuck one of my daughters boneless wings and it was ok. The beer list was a good mix of macro, craft and local but nothing really grabbed me. I would have liked to see a few more NC options in the mix. We enjoyed our visit but it’s not exactly my kind of place. I can see why people like it though.

We come here for lunch every couple weeks. The food is good, for bar food and the service is average. I had the chicken cordon blu and it was ok. The chicken breast was a little too fried and had little taste. We will come back and I’ll try something else. I’ve had the chicken pita and it was good!

Had a great lunch today at JD’s Tavern. Built my own barbecue grilled chicken sandwich with a side of fruit. It was excellent as always. Will definitely be back!

Naked Potato! Yum-Yum! We have only been here a handful of times but this is a great«go-to» spot where you can get some good eats when you are looking for something other than pizza on a Friday night. Having teenage boys — there’s something for everyone and the price is right.

I have been to JD’s Tavern a handful of times now, due to the convenient location, and it has consistently been great. The space itself is pretty large, they have a bar area, dining area and outdoor seating area(this space is split into smoking and non-smoking). They also have several TV’s to watch the sports games on. Every month they do a brewery invasion which is 4 taps by a craft brewery across the country. You can opt for one or try a flight of all 4 for $ 4. The food and service has been great each and every visit. The last time I visited I got the special which was a steak sandwich with pesto, tomato and mozzarella cheese, yummy. As far as side options go I recommend the cheesy potatoes au gratin or sweet potato tots. A must visit bar in the Apex area.

Stopped in for dinner and a drink while staying in Apex for the night before seeing a customer in Sanford NC tomorrow morning. JD’s is not what I would classify as a typical sports bar. They do have an abundance of TV’S that are all set to sports programming but that I where the distinction ends for me. This place also has a DJ, but from my vantage point I can not see them or any façade of a dance floor. Modern décor with fairly large horseshoe bar. Busy on a Friday night, I was shown the ultimate seat for a lonely out of town business traveler, a half booth with only one bench and a half wall where the other bench would be. Extensive beer menu but anyone who knows my reviews, I generally drink house Bourbon or Jack(when the house is so bad… or the price is the same) From the dinner menu I ordered the seared Ahi Tuna Pita. Not being a big fan of pitas(or the Thai peanut sauce that it came with) I ordered it without bread or sauce. Also ordered the loaded scalloped potatos(with sour cream, cheese and bacon). These alone were a meal! Although seared tuna and potatoes are generally not paired together, I highly recommend this dish. Order it the way I described if you are not a huge fan of spice. If you are, order it on the pita. Either way you will not be disappointed! In the end, ultimately any place, regardless of food, comes down to service. Amanda is the true shining star of this establishment. If she is available, please see to it to find a way to sit in her section, even if it means sitting in the half-booth! This place rates 5 stars for outstanding food and service in Apex NC! You would be hard pressed to find better elsewhere in this city!

Another fun night with the staff at JD’s. Pretty good bar food and great drinks. The customers have fun and it shows. The bartenders are always fun and work great with the customers.
