So, I have to say that I get people being thrown off by Wholesome Choice because it is definitely not a traditional chain market but that doesn’t diminish the fact that the Tiger Shrimp Satay at Chomp Chomp Nation is awesome! I was excited to try this place after seeing the truck on the Food Network and for me and it didn’t disappoint. This isn’t a watered down American version of Thai satay-the flavor is amazing-bold & spicy. The crunchy root chips and cool salad are the perfect compliment to the heat of the shrimp satay… and the shrimp are a good size.(This place should really consider manufacturing their spicy peanut sauce for distribution/sale!!!) The chicken satay is really good too but every time I go there I have to order the shrimp. I have only had positive experiences here and The gentlemen who owns the place is personable & kind. I love that the menu is so unique with such different & bold flavors. I’m hoping that Chomp Chomp Nation expands beyond Wholesome Choice location or is able to find a completely different locale that will enable them to showcase their delicious food to the masses.

Haven’t been to the wholesome choice in ages but was craving something asian when I found this on Unilocal.Walking in, it look liked a fairly small and simple thing next to mostly empty food stalls so wasn’t expecting too much, but I was already committed to eating from here. I end up getting the soft shell crab and it was way better than I expeced. The bread had a nice squishy-doughyness to it while still being light and moist. I wouldn’t say the bun was a make or break deal but if I could choose any bread for that sandwich at that time, that’d be it. A lot of leafy greens on top, I could have used a bit less as it was a bit overwhelming — I’d say it was about half a handful more than I would have liked but I didn’t take away from it. The crab was lightly fried, moist and flavour was not bad 3⁄5 on the crab and to be honest few places really do soft shell crab wow-worthy so again par for the course. But it was that little bit of curry mixed in that pushed it over. The whole combination with the chili sauce and the curry that helped tie several average tasting things into a rather good tasting burger. Side were fried chips of taro and potato, nice and crispy, little greasy but if you don’t like that IDFWU and lightly salted. And once you’re done with the big pieces you can eat the crumbs and that’s just the guilty pleasure setting in. Salad was a nice touch to mellow out the heavy curry, greasy chips and the hints of mango in the dressing really made it pop. I’ll be back, next time I’ll try something else but not because I didn’t enjoy the crab

Delicious!!! I had the shrimp skewer meal with coconut rice, salad and some sort of chip. The food was outstanding! The shrimp and dip are a bit spicy which I loved. The salad was fresh and the dressing was great! I will definitely be back to try a sandwich! The place is located in the supermarket, you can get the food to go or sit in the little dining area near the front of the store. The gentleman working there was very nice! He said they cater too.

Chicken skewers were moist and had a great sauce. Salad and slaw were both crisp and had a nice mix of flavors. Coconut rice was delicious too. Tofu in the tamarind burger didn’t do it for me, the sauce seemed to just be on the surface, and tofu was just mushy when you took a bite, I’ve had better. Wasn’t perfect, but I will probably try the rest of menu If I’m in the area.

Service was great and really trying hard but food made us sick, chips were greasy and the buns on the burgers tasted soggy and overly sweet, will not eat there again.

This place had me all pumped up only because of it’s spot on Tripple D’s T.V. show. But Wowzers it was so bad I had to toss the food. & It wasn’t cheep either. The permanent spot was not a good place FORME. The place just smelled. Wholesome Choice Market has so many other places to choose from as far as eating choices. Chomp Chomp FOOD tasted like it had been there since Friday. I should have known when I walked up and seen the place had no line that it was a dead give away TOSTAYAWAY!!! So disappointed ! I asked for a crab cake they said we are all out. Try our lamb. I did, and it was tossed so fast. the meat was bad I think. I even took my Family and pumped this place up so much too. My Wife said that I am not allowed to pick any places to eat for the next 6 months that’s how bad it was !!! Damn it.

There food is great and no doubt, very unique. It’s a little on the expensive side but I assure you that it is worth trying as I have personally never had anything like this before.

Saw the food truck episode on DDD. Looked it up and saw they had a location in a market in the Anaheim area. The food was amazing and the service excellent. You pay at the checkout and your food is delivered to your table located in the front of the store. Casual dining and kid friendly. We had the lamb burger, crab cake sandwich and loaded tater tots. Servings are generous and we had plenty to take home. My only critique was you can’t get a fountain drink, you have to buy a can or bottle from the market. The store has several stalls of other types of food and we opted for some luscious desserts to take home. Try it, I think you’ll love it!

The food was tasty and fresh but the price was a bit more than I would have liked to pay. The staff was very friendly and my food was made to order. 4.5 stars for the food 2.5 stars for the price.

My god the food here was GOOD! Having had not so positive experiences at the other dining options in the Wholesome Choice Market, Chomp Chomp turned it all around with a fantastic meal I could eat over and over again. Menu is great, short but every single item so unique, best to come with a few friends and get to try more. We went with the falafel for myself and the rib eye for my husband and I was so obsessed with both, I could not say which one I enjoyed more and I usually don’t like meat, especially not beef, so this will be one of those few places I would return to and eat the beef enjoying every sticky sweet bite. The chips are crack, some of the best ever as well, wish they were seasoned or at least salted, but the texture and crunch is heaven. Service was great, made to order in less than 10 minutes, prices are fair at around $ 10 per burger with chips and fruit. Worth checking out, I cannot wait to be back for more!

Not a great first impression for me… I never had the chance to try the food truck. Of course I was excited that they had an actual place to have their food and not have to chase a truck down. I was even more excited that they were down the street from my house. That’s when the excitement stopped. This was my first time in a Wholesome market actually. So we walk up and we don’t see anyone there. I’m thinking, they can’t be closed on all days a Friday!!! Finally a short latin dude comes out. Pretty blahze personality. So I wanted to order the soft shell sammie, he says we don’t have that at the moment. Then I said ok second choice the Ribeye sammie, we don’t have that right as well. I’m like WTF I really didn’t have a third choice, as I know I’m going to taste my moms food. She had this place before so I trusted her judgment o_O. She ordered the crispy shrimp that come with a sauce, slaw salad and home made chips, I forget what kind of veggie chips they were but they pretty come with every entrée you order. We also ordered the Singapore sling wings and the Lobster lumpia special. I knew this wasn’t going to be enough for me since it’s all shared plus I was pissed that didn’t have two staple items. So I went to get my entrée at the Persian eatery within the market. So we get home and of course I start taste testing. The wings were a bit small and dryish. The sauce on the wings was nice but I would have loved a nice juicy wing with it :(The lobster lumpia was not my moms favorite and it was seasoned and fried well but the lobster kinda tasted like it was on it’s last leg, I you know what I mean LOL. The crispy shrimp was perfect. No complaints from me nor my mom. The slaw was ok but that’s just fluff to me unless it shines in a sandwich. Those chips were VERY good. I just wish they change the to-go containers. Those recycled light brown to-go boxes, don’t keep food crisp. We just thought the meal was whateve. I would love to come back but I don’t want to go there and two major items aren’t on the menu because chef is going out to get more items o_O You have to better prepare your food supply especially for a Friday!!!

We read the reviews and got intrigued especially since it was formerly a «popular food truck». Anyway, ordered the spicy crab burger and the chicken breast burger. Both were ok but the chicken was a bit dry. The fruits were probably prepared really early because the pear was already turning brown. Those chips were also good. The red fruit juice was not good. Ate inside wholesome choice, not a good idea. If we ever try anything from the food court again, we’ll definitely take it home.

I’m so glad they are back and better than ever! This was the most original and delicious truck in OC. Not one bad thing. All good. All excellent!

Unilocal challenge 2015. 175⁄365 I have a crush on Guy Fieri… he always makes food look good. Rumor has it, he featured their food truck on his DDD show. So, I knew it had to be good. But… Guy likes the crab burger… and I am more of a land eater. This place is inside Wholesome Choice within the food court. So it is kind of wierd. You pay at the counter and wait. Then take it home or eat at one of the tiny tables by the cash registers. And I mean tiny. I had a hard time getting my legs under my table. Maybe my table was made for hobbits and not for tall folk. Dinning area could be better, so plan on taking it home. Ordered the rib eye burger for $ 10. It is pretty much seasoned shaved meat topped with a slaw served on a toasted bun. The flavor profile goes well with it. Buuuut… it was a little greasy. It came with some taro chips and canned fruit. Fresh fruit would of been better. The hubsters took a bite and said it reminded him of Belly Bombz, but not as good. Service was great. The cook was very patient with me and gave me a run down on all their choices. Everything is made fresh and served in less than 10 minutes. Not a lot of drink choices. They offer a few tea lik3 drinks. You can always buy a drink from the market and pay for it separately. This is probably the best choice in the food court. Trust me. I found out the hard way that their neighbor foodster is not so great. I also have a feeling their food truck serves it better verses the food court. A okay #665

Not a fan of food truck in general. Ordered spiced lamb burger but after paid they told me they ran out. Opted for the rib eye steak burger($ 10). What is Marinated Rib Eye Steak Burger? Thin Shaved Rib Eye Steak in our signature marinade of Tamarind, Brown Sugar, Shallots Spice seasonings and light Vinaigrette Slaw. Great flavor(on the heavy side) with very refreshing slaw which compliment each other well. My only problem is the food is overly greasy. Even the bun got greasy from the teppan they cooked the meat. The chips that came with the meal was greasy(good flavor too as the have taro chips which you don’t see often). Kind a mess eating it because meat falling off from the bun. The light green colored rice pudding tasted weird and i do not like it. Hibiscus tea with lychee jelly($ 3), ok, I like lychee jelly and its sweetness while the tea itself is not sweet at all. But you actually drinking tea alone and try to such up jelly using straw. So I don’t really get the amazing feeling about combine these two together. Good concept and fresh ingredients plus nice(interesting) flavor. PLUS Greasiness. Tip 1: you order at the counter and pay at register. The FOODCOURT register, not the supermarket register. Tip 2: prolly the best bet you can get at this food court.

I had the soft shell crab burger and satay. It was very good. The portions were big! The taro chips that came along with the meal were unique and quite tasty! I also had the tiger tea which was refreshing. I would come back for more!

Tried the soft shell crab sandwich and lamb burger. Great taste but the bread to crab and bread to lamb ratio is way too high. Each bite is mostly bread. Leaves you searching for the crab, lamb taste.

I loved their food truck, so when I heard they were in the Wholesome Choice by my house, I had to get over here ASAP for some food! Today I went and grabbed lunch. They open at 11, I was there by 11:20-ish and I think I was the first customer of the day. The man working was really friendly, he took my order and told me it would be about 10 minutes. I walked around the store during that time and came back just as he was finishing my food. If you aren’t familiar with Wholesome Choice, you order from them in the food court, but take your food to a register in the front and pay for it. Lunch was $ 18. I got the Tiger’s Blood Tea, which is hibiscus with lychee jelly. Soooo good, get it! I ordered the Crispy Shrimp & Chicken Satay. I didn’t realize they would be served as two whole meals, both with some sort of slaw, one had rice cubes and other taro chips. So, I definitely had leftovers. The food was delicious, as always. I know we will be coming here often!

I come here every other week or so during lunch because it’s that good! I typically get the special Soft-shell Crab burger. Just thinking about it makes me miss the flavor of the burger!!! Comes with fresh grated chips and a nice coleslaw-type salad. Did I mention the flavor of the burger?!? It’s on point!!! 2TU

Located inside Wholesome Choice’s food court: Tiger Prawn and Lobster Laksa(daily special, check their Facebook page to see if they are selling it) is a popular spicy noodle soup — combination of Chinese and Malay flavors. The soup is a rich and spicy coconut milk curry with tiger prawns, lobster, Asian meatballs, rice, vermicelli and topped with hardboiled egg, bean sprouts, green onion, and chili pepper. This is one of the most balanced, harmonized dished I’ve ever had! It is spicy but the flavor is so addictive, you can’t stop eating it. Rating: 5⁄5 Marinated Ribeye Steak is thinly shaved ribeye steak in Chomp Chomp Nation’s signature marinade of tamarind, brown sugar, shallots, spice seasoning, and topped with a light vinaigrette slaw($ 10). The ribeye is the Singaporean take on teriyaki beef, yet a little different. The meat is tender and the tamarind and brown sugar give it a Southeast Asian flavor. The slaw gives it a crunchy texture and adds the right amount of acidic balance to the sandwich. I love the side of root chips as well — taro chips are my favorite! Rating: 4.5÷5 Green PhalaPhal Burger is a seasoned green falafel patty(freshly picked chickpeas), mint curry lime yogurt raita, and topped with fresh pea sprouts($ 8). The patty is unlike the Middle Eastern version where the exterior is very crispy and the interior is very dry. This patty is crisp on the outside, but very moist and tender within. It makes the perfect vegetarian alternative for a burger. The pea sprouts add a nice refreshing green flavor. Rating: 4.5÷5 Tiger Blood Tea is made with hibiscus and lychee gel cubes on the bottom. I’m not a tea drinker, but I love this drink. It’s sweet, but not too sweet with a refreshing tropical fruit flavor. I love lychee so the gel cubes were onolicious! Rating: 5⁄5
