Alpines oldest and in many locals opinion, still the best taco shop. Still, when it comes to mexican food Alpine seems to have an embarrassment of much so that you can start assigning specialties. Taco shop«A», has awesome albondigas for a winter day, meanwhile taco shop«B“excels at rolled tacos ect.ect.Now, i could break down all 6 taco shops by dish, but lets go with Alpine Taco Shops specialties. First of all they have all your«San Diego“style favorites, clean, fast and reasonably priced. They dont need crazy sized food because these recipes have had years(in the same location!) To refine. If your looking for a new spin on a fav. Give the Ca burrito a try. If $s tight, the family special is a lot for a little, guaranteed fill up. They have new taco tues. specials yea! Inside&outside seating, very basic everything but they do have WiFi for the face in the phone parking but you can improvise.

Really good food but also over priced. Their carne asada fries are more expensive than any other place in alpine or maybe any place in general.

This place is the best! They’re quick, their food is amazing, they even have a super Cali burrito that’s to die for! I’ve been eating here for years and absolutely love them!

I grew up in Alpine. So I was visited Alpine Taco Shop ALOT and it was always awesome. I moved away from Alpine in 2002 and haven’t been back to Alpine Taco Shop since. Last night I was up in Alpine for other reasons but I was hungry and thought I would stop by Alpine Taco Shop for old times sake. When I walked in I noticed that the place hasn’t changed at all in the last 13 years. I ordered my usual carne asada burrito and three rolled tacos. The burrito was real good but I was a little disappointed in the rolled tacos. They just weren’t as good as I remember. I don’t get to Alpine much these days but when I am up there I going to try and make it a point to stop by Alpine Taco Shop.

Burrito more expensive than other taco shops in Alpine. Same size tortilla but less filling than other places. 2nd time there and still disappointed in cost and service. Not going to be MY go to place. Some satisfied, some of us not!

I just left alpine taco shop without my takeout order because they wanted 20.00 $ for 3 tacos a quesidilla and rice. Went to Mananas and paid 14.00 for same order!!!

This is easily the best place to get Mexican food in Alpine. The staff are friendly, the food is delicious and fresh, and the inside dining is always air conditioned and comfortable. The breakfast burritos are always a great choice, and my only regret is that Alpine Taco Shop isn’t open early enough for me to get one before my early job!

Alpine Taco is the go-to Mexican food for me, my family and friends who come here to visit from abroad. There are other places closer but it’s worth the drive. Never disappointed.

We’ve been coming here after our mountain bike rides for years, and still enjoy the menu, food and little taco shop ambience. The meal last night prompted this five star review. Awesome shrimp fajita plate.

Definitely my favorite Mexican food joint in alpine, the food is fresh and tastes great. All except for the beef burrito, tasted like beef stew wrapped in a tortilla, huge let down. Everything else is amazing, so I’ll let that one slide!

Yuck! I don’t know what I was expecting, but it way under exceeded my expectations. First I asked for no lettuce, or tomato and guess what they put it on anyways. The chili relleno was soggy and cold. The enchilada was none existent. Twenty-Two years? I don’t know how.

Love this place, it’s been an alpine staple for like 20+ years. I always come for my rolled taco fix but have also been getting carnitas burritos recently too. Food is always on point. Prices have steadily climbed the past few years but something you can’t blame them directly for. Employees are always friendly. I will say one thing that actually doesn’t really bother me but one of the guys(been working here forever) is always stoned. Like ALWAYS! And not like he smoked earlier in the day… But like maybe 5 minutes ago high. As an occasional smoker I could honestly care less but just seems bad for biz and my female friend I brought last time was extremely put off by this so maybe just keep the toking for after your shift :) will always come to the alpine taco shop

Great service! Super friendly little taco shop on the way to my favorite pet resort, they made me a paleo chorizo con huevos plate per my special order. The only reason I’m not going 4 stars was the actual chorizo itself… Pretty bland; not the stuff I’d expect out here(the land of fantastic Mexican food).

Driving thru alpine and decided to stop for some Mexican food, heard good things about this place and wanted to give them a try. Well, the place is cute and the food was delicious but my breakfast burrito came with a nice piece of plastic wrap about 3 inches long. Right when I took my first bite! Took about 20 minutes to receive our food(quite long for a «taco shop») and the guy at the register was high as a kite! … Didn’t even offer a refund, they«made» me another in literally 2 mins. Disappointed but they receive 2 stars because the food was very good. Unfortunately, I won’t be back though.

One of my first nights in San Diego had to start feeding my Mexican food cravings. Alpine Taco has been around for like 25 years. My Dad and I use to come here and I introduced him to Muchacha. We both loved it. I had the carne asada plate with corn tortillas it was great! The man at the counter has been here forever and was very kind and helpful. Bathrooms were clean and the food took a bit longer to get out to me but well worth it.

Flautas? We don’t need no stinking flautas-! But you’ll WANT these flautas-!!! …and carne asada burritos… and breakfast burritos… and everything else on the menu-! The costs are a little high; the shop is a little danky; but overall not bad to get your mexi-fix if stuck in Alpine.
