Excellent food and friendly service make this a go-to location. By no means a «fine dining» experience but great for fast and good food. Take out as well as dine in service. And don’t miss breakfast, too.

pretty fast service. prices ok. food ok. ordered the fries, and they were the previously frozen, straight into the fryer, and dropped into a 3.5×3.5 box, and handed to me in about less than 20seconds later. a bit too hot to eat right away, but it was just right after you start driving at 65mph on the freeway 8, with all the windows rolled down. they tasted not too salty, not too bland. also got the carne asada burrito. I don’t know, the burrito was not as good as some of the other places I had tried. It was mostly tortilla, and not enough meat. It was also hard to chew into it, the meat was too tough. Their salsa was good though, really fresh tasting! It was a bit out of the way for me to get there, and I feel food was only ok, meh :/ If I am in the area again, i’d probably pick some place else, or if I had to go, I’d order something else.

l am giving them a 3.9 on their carneasada chips! Never have I ate this dish without the chip getting soggyy at the end. This didn’t happen here with their crunchy yummy chips, the meat was awesome too. The only reason I didn’t rate higher was because their salsa. I’m a huge salsa girl but that is the only bad thing I can say. I will be back! I’ve been to two other taco shops in alpine and I would give them a 1 so I was excited to find this place!

$ 5.90 is a lot for two oversized rolled tacos! I got two chicken flautas that were just O K. They came with sour cream and guacamole, no beans or rice. Certainly not worth six bucks!

If you want authentic Mexican breakfast, stay away. We ordered huevos rancheros, they just placed a soggy oil dipped tortilla with eggs topped with canned salsa. When I approached the cashier about my dish. He didn’t even offer to remedy the situation he just said«oh well, that’s how we make them». Ruined my breakfast for the day. They should change their recipe and try using the salsa from their salsa bar instead of canned salsa for this dish. Good luck to all!

How did I forget I ate there rolled tacos and they hardly put any meat. Went there tonight and wish I hadn’t because I was really looking forward to eating a good burrito. I ordered a bean burrito no cheese to go. The beans were not fully cooked as there was little hard pieces and way more tortilla than beans. $ 4.50 expensive! I’ll never go there again, ever!

Was driving through Alpine and decided to pick up dinner on my way home. Ordered a few things to go there hot hot carrots and salsa are great. Unfortunately when I got home the chicken quesadilla had absolutely no cheese… Lol it was just chicken in a folded tortilla. And the fries in the carne asada fries were not cooked all the way :(They were not that busy either, even if they were I was happy to wait for good food… I will try them one more time maybe just order something different.

Prices have gone up and quality has decreased over the last several visits. I’ve started going elsewhere until/if I hear better things.

Good food, good prices, quick service. My favorite is the California burrito. It’s pretty big. Best hangover food ever! I like the Carne asada fries too. We have liked everything we have tried besides the fish tacos. They aren’t bad, just not the best.

This place is getting to be very«hit and miss.» It used to be consistently decent, but over the past year or so we’ve either gotten really good food or super terrible food. I especially have to agree with the reviewers who have complained about the food being BURNED. Come on, when that happens, don’t pack it up and give it to me cause you WILL be getting it back! Happens a lot probably cause I order to-go. BURNED Calamari burritos are INEDIBLE, burned everything else is just careless and gross. I have noticed that the more people are working, the crappier the food is. Went last night and there were two people in the front and at least 3 in the kitchen and the food was awful and bland. How do you make bland Mexican food? All it needs is garlic, onions, salt, jalapenos and it is delicious! But no, I had to season it when I got home. ALL of the salsas were BLAND! In contrast, I get really delicious food when there is one guy out front and one guy in the back. It’s to the point now where I don’t place a phone order – I want to go and see how many people are working and if it is more than two, I go elsewhere. Too bad. They are definitely the most affordable place in town.

Decided to update my review, the service seems to be getting a little better more friendly and just happier to b there. The food is always on point which is why I always end up coming back despite the quality of the service.

I LOVE this Mexican food place. I always stop here when traveling out of town to get a breakfast burrito or chicken enchilada. I have dreams of their green salsa in their salsa bar. It is the most delicious salsa verde I’ve ever had. Ive never eaten in as I get my orders to go, but the service is fast and prices are reasonable.

My favorite in alpine! Their burritos are so good and juicy. I’ve never had anything from there that I disliked they are well priced and very quick

Stopped there for lunch on our way to Jacumba. The gal at the counter was friendly and helpful. Ordered 2 shrimp enchiladas for $ 6.00. They were delicious and packed full of shrimps! The green sauce was tangy and flavorful. Salsa bar is good with spicy carrots. They even give you the food on ceramic plates with a side of chips. I wish there was a Mananas in North San Diego.

Went here Sunday Feb 1st around 1030ish and ordered a burrito. After taking it home, I saw that the cook had carelessly burned the tortilla of my burrito inside and out. After a long day and going out of my way to come here, I was very disappointed in the quality and the fact that the cook saw the tortilla was completely burnt, and threw it together anyways.

Food is always good but the 1 star is for the crappy service. The counter people are always rude and make you feel like you’re below them. They never say thank you. Im over Mananas! I’m sick of spending my hard earned money here and not getting at least a thank you! This is what happens when spoiled Mexican kids get handed a business!

Ever since I have lived in Alpine(roughly 12 years) this has been my family’s go-to taco shop. If you’re from Alpine, you would know that whenever someone mentions the«taco shop», they mean Mañana’s! I have tried probably every single dish from here, and I have never ever been disappointed! Customer service wise, what can you expect? It is a family owned taco shop. However I can say that I have never experienced anyone being anything but kind to me! I also do recall that at one point a few years ago, when my family used to call in at least once a week to order food, the staff memorized our orders, so props to them!

Shrimp Taco Salad. Loaded with grilled shrimp fajita. Downside: no beans, no rice, bland flavor. Great salsa bar to spice it up. Wonderful service, they would have added the toppings if I had asked. If driving through Alpine, it’s a good stop.

My hubby, friend and I decided to give this a try after checking the menus and prices of two other Mexican restaurants in Alpine. The food was«ok». The guys got burritos and they were huge. Both guys liked the flavor in of the carne asada but all of us felt there wasn’t enough flavor over all. Especially the salsa… Very bland. The prices are about average. Service was good and the place was very clean with plenty of seating. Plus it’s convenient… Just off I8 on Tavern Road. If you’re hungry, want a huge burrito but not overly picky on flavor, than it’s a good place.

I was out in Alpine because I was looking for Pumpkin patch I heard about that had good prices. I wanted to pick up a class set of those mini ones for my students to decorate. Well, I never found the patch, but I found Mananas for breakfast!( ) The bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast burrito was a way to temper myself after I could not find that patch. It had a soothing affect, with its salty and crispy bacon, soft and well seasoned scrambled eggs, and melted cheddar cheese.( ) The burrito was above in size and quite filling.( ) Out of the hot sauces I tries, my favorite was the deep red made from burn chili peppers. It was mild in heat but full of good flavor.( ) Well, after powering down the burrito, I felt as victorious as a legatus on the battle field. So, I left my mark.( ) Nice people fill the ranks of this establishment, and it’s worth a visit whenever you are in Alpine looking for a pumpkin patch that does not exist…
