They are located in the mall — downtown Toronto. Surprisingly, they had a real nice selection of Canadian beer we wanted to explore. The staff was real helpful with making suggestions on what we should get depending on our likes. I felt the prices were affordable and our selection were rewardable!

This Beer Store is located next to the LCBO on Dundas near Jane St. They have good selection, high prices, and are generally better staffed on weekends. The staff are above average when it comes to friendliness and helpfulness. During the weekdays they typically use the same register for selling beer and handling returns. This is not bad, but it can be chaotic at times. There is not always an ordered system of service once the chaos ensues. The top challenge here is cleanliness. On my most recent visit, there was broken glass around the entrance, as well as in the lot. The bottle recycling trays were sticky and had flies on them. Part of this is simply what happens absent from any competition. There is no incentive here to try harder than necessary. We can wish that they would keep this place cleaner out of the goodness of their hearts, but a wise person once said, «wish in one hand and shit in the other, then see which fills up faster.»

This Beer Store is conveniently located right next to the Junction’s only LCBO. Walking between the two is a bit of an obstacle course because of a truck ramp leading to the basement of the Beer Store. Not a problem if you are able-bodied but something to keep in mind. Inside is the standard Beer Store selection and line-up at the cash on a Friday or Saturday evening. You order and pay at the registers to the right of the door, where they do bottle collection. This seemed awkward and inefficient because they have two check-out lanes on the pick-up side of the store that were closed. It means you must line-up with all the smelly old bottles even if you aren’t returning anything to place your order or pay. We were in and out in less than 5mins so it wasn’t terrible but they could have used another employee upfront to keep the line short.
