Hair Iz

Came here because all my family have been their patrons for years. So I decided why not. My hairdresser moved away and I didn’t want to go to those $ 10 and under haircuts since I wanted some pampering.
Their doggie greeted me upon arrival, so cute. The salon is super clean and modern and non pretentious staff, I felt very welcomed! Lots of free parking around!
For the price you pay, it’s worth it. There is someone to shampoo your hair, then you get taken to the actual hairdresser.
I got Sherman. He helped me hang my coat and scarf, and I didn’t have to say much. He is a PRO! He has years of experience, like a master stylist. He won’t cut all your hair off, and knows how to make you look good! I can’t tell you how many hairdressers don’t listen to you. He used all the tools and they have some awesome high end hair products.
He knows how to cut Asian hair, and he had other clients in there besides Asian’s. His wife works there as well, and she has gorgeous hair! He’s also quite talkative but to a point. He’s also quite focused.
I felt like family in there! At the end, Sherman helped me put on my coat and I would definitely be back.
They accept debit or cash only, and appointments are recommended, they get busy :)

I have had my hair done here for several months. I have never had a problem here. If anything they are conservative in their cuts. If you want 3 inches off they will probably cut only 2 off. :D

Just came back on this site to get the phone number so I could call for an appointment today and saw the newest review. I can’t believe what they’re saying! I’ve been coming here once every 2 months or so (I just found out they have free bang trims in between haircuts — I guess that’s standard in all $ 20+ hair salons? Didn’t know that, but bonus!) and have never seen what the other reviewer has claimed.
Anyway, just wanted to hop on and say this is my go-​to place when I have to get dressed up to go somewhere. People say you shouldn’t get your hair cut on the same day as an important event, but I’ve never had an issue — it’s like getting a makeover!

I believe the review from 4÷2÷2011 is harsh and over-​exaggerated. If you noticed Holly T’s review … there was a discrepancy within her review … she stated she/​someone else? sat in the chair for 3 hours for a haircut but yet described her experience as having her hair coloured for 7 hours. Hmmmmm. Course this prompted someone like myself who has never submitted a review in her life to do so.
My friends and family have been having our hair done by Hair Iz for up to 10 years (even at their previous address).
Their prices are so reasonable for the quaility of cuts/​colour you receive.
Maria is a true hair artist and only those who want ‘rockin’ hair should have her as a hairdresser. Being a ‘hair artist’ … yes Maria can take up to maybe 2 hours for a haircut if you are new. She likes to get to know her customers so she can guage what your hair limits are. She also educates her customers on hair care (something I would assume most people would appreciate … I know I did). So if you don’t have the time to invest to have awesome hair … you should see either Sylvia or Spencer who are also awesome as well but have more a conservative flair.
Rest assured the shop itself has all the proper equipment and salon capes, etc. LOL … and there is never any doggie poop ever in the salon LOL!!! Little Bijou (the owners pet) gets taken for walks many times during the day.
Once you get to know the owners/​staff … you will never have your hair done anywhere else. The salon has a family feel if you give it a chance. But not everyone likes that … so if that’s the case … pay your top $ to Suki’s :)
