Hudson’s Bay Fairview: Once a shopper finds what they are looking for and wants to pay, why is the payment process at your service counters SO difficult? My experience for my last 4 visits in any department other than cosmetics has been horrible. Processing payments is slow or missing. Assisting customers with returns and exchanges is cumbersome, thus holding line ups for an unreasonable amount of time. I had the patience to wait but was directed to other desks three more times because each claimed they were«closed» or «expecting a long wait» by the staff in each department. I do not know if the staff put up their«cash closed» signs because they are struggling to keep up with their other merchandising obligations or if they just hate dealing with customers or if the store is short-staffed. It is Christmas shopping time. Why wouldn’t you want my payment? It took 1 minute to find the gift card I wanted. Then 30 minutes to find any staff willing to accept my payment! 2 stars.

I used to think this Bay was a decent one. I used to be able to find some nice work clothing basics for great prices at this location. But lately the organization & cleanliness of this department store has gone down hill. Also their women’s clothing now seems skewed towards the over 50 crowd rather than the 30−40somethings they used to cater to. Disappointed.
