I went for a hair cut today (after cutting my own hair that was somewhat a disaster!), I am very happy with the service, with goggle translate, language is no longer a barrier. The friendly hairdresser asked who cut my hair, when I told her I did, we both laugh out loud. I ended up doing a body perm and a hair cut, it looks good on me, not to mentioned the price is very reasonable for $100, I highly recommended this place and will go back again.

I was looking for a hair salon with reasonable price as I don’t think a haircut should cost more than $ 30. This salon charges $ 20 dollars for women and $ 10 for men include tax and it is unbeatable! My husband always gets haircut there and I went with him many times. Their customers are widely mixed so I think they have good experiences on cutting different styles. There was not line up when I was there on a weekday afternoon. I brought several pictures to showed the stylist. I wanted just trim and maintain my usually medium length straight hair. The cut took about 20 mins and it turned out a lot shorter than I was expecting and kind of different compare to my pictures. But surprisingly I LIKE It way better than the style I was looking for! I guess the stylist did not clear communicate to me about the result but she got some ideas from my pictures for style that suit my face and most importantly, she was very talented and did an amazing job. I am actually pretty impressed about the short and fresh look I have. I don’t know if I can get the same stylist next time I go there as they don’t take appointments and whoever available will serve the next customer. But I would definitely consider going back next time when I want to get a haircut.

DONOTWASTEYOURMONEY!!! THEYARENOTCHEAP!!! DONOTSEEANNA!!! I wish Unilocal allowed a NOSTAR option! To be fair… Yes it is a dinky dirty place with rude stylists that are clearly shit talking you if you so much as dare to ask a question and make a recommendation… But let’s be real you’re there for the savings not the ambiance or customer service so I thought!!! I have to disagree with the yorkville prices! I get my hair styled at yorkville for $ 40 – 50 but that includes a wash treatment scalp massage a latte a blow dry and curls with a curling iron(that normally takes 1 – 1.5 hours)! Went to JJs today… Saw anna! For a style. I pre washed my own hair! She ran the blow dryer through my hair for about 3 min applied some biosilk(30 seconds) and then curled the bottom of my damp frizzy hair for about a total of 5 min!!! And charged me $ 30!!! For a total of less than 10 min!!! You may think I’m exaggerating but even the owner said he witnessed she took 10 whole minutes on my hair!!! Unless you are a DOC you should not be making $ 30 in 10 min in a shit hole!!! Will never go back!!! Had to go to another salon to get my hair fixed! Absolutely a waste!!!

Ok so the interior isn’t straight out of a movie; this place doesn’t look like a Yorkville salon. But you aren’t paying Yorkville prices either. The service is great. Communication can be a little difficult but they do their best to understand what you want done. I’ve sent 4 to 5 times elsewhere and did not get the results nearly as good as JJ’s. The prices can’t be beat. I paid $ 130 for colour, highlights, cut and styling. The only thing is the wait. They don’t take appointments so I needed up waiting about an hour. I’m sure I’ll go back when my roots come in.

It’s funny how the bitches below that gave 1 star to this hair salon complain about the cleanliness and service they provide. What the fuck do you expect? You’re only paying $ 25 for a hair cut, $ 30 for haircut with hot oil, and nothing over the top. You are paying really cheap for service that can cost a lot more. Would you like to go to somewhere that is more clean and would provide better service? Then go somewhere you know you will pay more than $ 50 for just a damn hair cut. I really do not mind this place because as a student, I am broke. But for $ 30 dollars for a haircut and hot oil treatment for my hair, that is good enough. Yeah there is a language barrier when we communicate. I just usually sit there, tell them. «trim, 1 inches, take away split ends, hot oil». In 40 minutes, my hair feels amazing, THEYALSOSTRAIGHTENITTOO, BLOWDRYIT, ANDWASHANDSHAMPOOIT… all for $ 30. So Why THEFCK are you complaining? Lol. YOUGETWHATYOUPAYFOR. TIPS from a pro: CASHONLY Come early or later around an hour before closing time; to beat everyone else; there usually is a long wait /rantover

This salon is very dirty and its a very uncomfortable atmosphere for someone to do their hair in. They aren’t consistent, they don’t speak english and they are rude. I wanted to touchup my roots but the lady that was doing my hair was in a rush so she was sighing and rolling her eyes the whole time she was doing my foils. When she was done she put me under the heater and that made my hair snap like crazy after she washed it. She left right after she finished my hair and I paid $ 75 for my roots to be done. Somehow the prices tend to fluctuate and are never the same, they just charge you on how much they feel it should be. Don’t come here if you want to do color or root touchup!!!

To be honest, this really isn’t a Unilocalable place. This dinky little Korean hair salon at the corner of the many plazas in the area is utterly unnoticeable and not meant for people who come here expecting normal western standard service. When you walk in, you will notice a large number of women sitting around the waiting the room. The first seat is always occupied by the bossman, who looks mighty mean but is actually super nice. He cuts mostly hair for men, sometimes does stuff for women, and his main job is to ask customers what they need done, how much it would be if they ask, and direct the people in the seats when and where to go when a hairdresser is ready for them. And no, all the hairdressers in there do not speak English very well. They can barely talk about your hair with you in fact. They know words like, «layers» «yes» «no» «highlight» and«colour». If you want anything specific and needs to be explained, then you’re screwed. Best if you bring a picture. Why this place is awesome? first off it is CHEAP. $ 50 for color and haircut included… you cannot beat that. Secondly, the hairdressers in there are AWESOME. They are friendly, great with your hair(trust them and you will get good results), and really meticulous with your colour, cut, and style. But be prepared to wait. No appointment is needed(I don’t even know if they take appointment). You can literally be waiting up to an hour or two on their busy days. Is it worth the wait? My five stars is saying yes. I’m exposing here Toronto’s best kept secret, I hope this will not make my wait time longer! CASHONLY, but there’s an ATM in the store. Parking in the back too.
