The food isn’t fresh, it sits in an oven to keep it warm. The service is ridiculous, the waiters and waitresses aren’t tentative, bringing food before drinks, bringing one meal out before the other meals are ready. Not coming here again, thought I would give it a try and nothing has changed here, same old garbage.

It was fine. It seems like a copout review, but there isn’t much more to it. The food was above mediocre. It wasn’t the best and could have easily been better. I did enjoy my meal. Though I ordered a scramble that was not at all scrambled. A chunk of cooked egg was just layered on top. Not like I have ever had before. The complaints that I have are with the service more than anything. The server went missing a lot. It took a long time to get coffee or tea. I asked for more water twice and never once was refilled. There were 3 attempts to refill a tea mug with coffee, one successful refill. It was right beside the tea pot, how do you not know? We got our food and 2 minutes later cutlery arrived. The bill arrived before we were done. When we asked to pay, it took 10 minutes to get the server to come back to our table with the debit machine. After he was standing around for a while at a back servers’ station. It was just an overall disappointment. But I didn’t set the bar too high for this one.

Restaurant side is horrible for service. It’s never ever busy in there, but it takes forever to get served and forget refills for coffee or water, you’ll never get it unless you find them. My mother after giving enough if the service asked about the wait for everything. They said they were busy. Place wasn’t even half full. I’ve worked in a restaurant. That was not busy. Food is gross too. We only go to the bar side now service is better there and we only get the wings since it’s the only good thing

Hello, My wife and I went here for Breakfast this morning. Other than waiting a little bit to be seated it was a good experience. I had a classic eggs benedict with fresh fruit and toast. My wife had a Parfait with fruit, granola, and a side of toast. They were eager to serve and everyone was happy and liked their jobs(which is rare these days). The food was fast and really tasty. We’ll be coming back for sure for a nice meal.

I always used 2eat here and used 2love their coffee, but they’re really awful now, I mean their service is incredibly slooooooow, u get the coffee almost right away but then they take 4ever to come back and ask what u’d like 2eat, and once that is done and over with they almost never come back 2refill ur coffee(I literally had 2go find the waiter and ask him 4a refill) and the restaurant was almost empty(only 2other couples and me and my husband). Not to mention the little flies that r all over the place which made me lose my appetite. And when I went to the bathroom 2wash my hands it was absolutely disgusting(a little less disgusting than the smitty’s bathroom in kingsway mall — that bathroom is repulsive) and u can tell a lot abt the restaurants’ cleansiness from their bathrooms. Also the waiters r reaaally annoyingly bored(u feel like they’re just almost always not in the mood 2serve– seriously GET A NEWJOB, maybe one where u Don’t have 2smile and sit around all day which is what u do anyway)

On my continuing mission to sample breakfast food at all Edmonton restaurants: My co-workers and I and decided to skip off our morning routine and head to Smitty’s for breaky. I had the Golden Crisp Belgian Waffle with hot strawberries topped off with whipped cream. I don’t usually eat breakfast this early(it was something like 9AM — read my Denny’s review to see what I’m talking about) but this waffle was worth getting out of bed for. It filled the entire plate and it was crispy and thick. The strawberries were a little too warm so the whipped cream started to melt a little so I had to eat it fast. I guess that was just as well… we had to get back to work anyway. Our waiter was polite, prompt, and always there to top up our coffee. The atmosphere at Smitty’s this time of the morning is quiet and calm despite the hustle and bustle of the 97th Street traffic outside. It wasn’t busy when we were in there. The few other customers that were in there were mostly seniors. Similar setting to the Roz which is near Smitty’s, only not as busy(read my review of the Canyon Grill for clarification.) I think it’s probably because Smitty’s is kind of hidden away at the back corner of Northgate Mall and it isn’t visible from 97th Street. Smitty’s is highly recommended as a weekday mid-morning breakfast location.

I can’t help but think of pancakes smothered in whip cream and strawberry’s when I hear of Smitty’s. My mouth is salivating about this tasty breakfast item as we speak. Smitty’s is known for their fabulous breakfasts like pancakes, waffles and the whole meal deal of eggs, bacon and hash browns, but they also have lunch and dinner items too. Now, Smitty’s is not fine dining by any stretch of the imagination but it’s an affordable place to go, the servings are filling and the food is good. When I mean the food is good I mean it fills the void in a hearty way. They do have menu items like salads, wraps, soups and sandwiches that are lighter eating if are able to alter entrees to suit your dietary need! Yay! Sometimes to service can be slow but that depends on how rushed the servers are and how full the restaurant is. I’ve been in a few times when it was relatively slow and the service was crap so I guess you take the good with the bad. But I still want my pancakes with whip cream and strawberries.
