I got eyelash extensions done, and under close speculation at home, I realized that a few of my eyelashes were stuck together with one extension which is extremely damaging to the lash.
Although Shay was quite nice, I found her to be unprofessional as I could hear her texting and using her phone throughout the session while my eyes were closed.
Furthermore, she doesn’t have any indication that using a credit card would cost extra, so I didn’t bring any cash with me.
I went to Shay because of all the positive Unilocal reviews I read, but I would tell everyone to do more research and find other alternatives.

I’ve been getting eyelash extensions for the past 9 years. I’ve visited a wide variety of lash lounges around the continent including a few in and around Calgary. I haven’t found any lash lounges in this city who offer a consistently good product and great service. In the beginning, my lash technician at Noir was great but she left to pursue a different career and I’ve bounced around between 4 technicians since, none of them able to give me the same reliability I needed.
I went to Shay because of these Unilocal reviews and it really was a great experience. The lashes she put on stayed on for quite a while. The length was great, it looked natural but added the oomph that I needed. And even when they started to fall off they didn’t look bad. With some other places, I had lashes starting to stick out in all different directions.
Shay also noticed I was badly in need of a brow shape and she was able to fix them for me on the spot.
Although Shay charges a bit more than other lash lounges, I think the price is worth it as she does great quality work. As well, since my latest lashes at Noir only lasted 2 weeks, I may be saving money by going to Shay.
Honestly, spend the money for great quality to avoid the headaches later on.

That was my first review of Shay Danielle Esthetics when she first started out in 2011. As she has moved out of Killarney it’s a bit difficult for me to get to her but I plan on trying and will then write an update.

I just had my second Power Peel with Shay this afternoon and again I came home impressed with the service. First, she works from home which makes the service a lot cheaper compared to other microderm places I’ve tried in the city. Also, her Microderm + Glycolic Peel combo (Power Peel) is extremely cheap! Second, she’s good at analyzing skin type and skin problems. When I first came in, she pointed out that my skin issues only come out every few months so I only need to come once every three months. Well, I like that diagnosis as it saves me money. Third, her treatments which yield same great results do not take as long as other derm clinics so I don’t have difficulty scheduling my treatments.
The only thing I have an issue with is the location. Her place used to be close to 17^th ave but she’s moved to a fairly new community in the Aspen area which can be difficult to get to if you don’t drive or now that it’s snowing way too much.

After a horribly botched job elewhere I researched around to find someone more experienced who could fix my eyelash extensions… I read many reviews about Miss Shay and had a personal reference from someone about her so I booked an appointment.
I couldn’t have made a better choice. I stepped into a beautiful CLEAN studio with a peacefu, l serene atmosphere… Any aprehensions I previously felt faded away as soon as I layed down and Shay started explaining everything she was doing and the productsshe was using. Shay removed the gobs of glue that had coated and clupmed on my eyelashes AND eyelids with such expertise that I didn’t feel a thing. She then put on a new set of minky singles in no time at all. It was so quick that I was hesitant to open my eyes to see how they would look, but I was pleasantly surprised. They are STUNNING. Shay is an eyelash guru. You can’t even notice the bald spots that I have from damage incurred by my botched job. I was so shocked at how quickly and easily she repaired someone elses horrible mistake.
I will be going back again and again and have already referred 3 of my friends. I can’t say enough nice things about Shay. If you’ve ever considered eyelash extensions, give Shay Danielle Esthetics a try –you will not be dissappointed. I highly recommend her.

I found Shay while browsing Unilocal for eyelash extensions. Although I decided to wait on the eyelashes, I noticed that her website advertised skin treatments and immediately contacted her for a Glycolic Peel. Luckily she fit me in a couple days later and I was blown away by the chic and inviting décor of her salon. She was warm and friendly and made me feel totally at ease! I was extremely impressed with the results, and I will definitely be back for another peel. Still on the fence about the lashes, but with all the great reviews and pictures, I think I might have to try them out!

Shay is beyond fantastic! Her salon is so calming and you just feel at ease there, I have gone to Shay for the microderm and had a Glycolic peel also! Amazing! Every time i leave i feel great and she is well worth it! I will never attend another salon for my Microderm! I have yet to try the eyelashes but my friends have and again AMAZING. If you like me hate putting on Mascara in the morning cause you seem to get it all over your face then you will love them! Very natural looking!

Shay is amazing — I am so glad I saw Nancy C.‘s review and decided to give a set of lashes a shot! I absolutely love them and have been back a few times for fills. I have also had the microdermabrasion and wow! I loved it and I loved the compliments from friends about how great I looked. I’ll be back… again and again!

Thank you Nancy C for finding Shay! She is awesome! Worth every penny! Got the microdermabrasion and 10% peel and I am ready for my Vegas trip tomorrow.
