I would rate this restaurant five stars because they have pleasant and fast service, enjoyable environment and food. Most importantly comma they have many choices for meals and the quality is quite exceptional and portions are fairly large. If you’re fairly busy you can order for pick up and take out and it will be ready in about 10 or 15 minutes even during their busiest Friday or Saturday night rushes. My wife and I tried their sweet and sour pork yesterday which was pretty high quality with large pieces of zucchini and pineapple in it which was very fresh! That’s the best sweet and sour pork I’ve ever had. We tried some side dishes like the bamboo shoots and long seaweed noodles which has some interesting marinade with garlic, sesame oil, and a little bit of rice vinegar I think. We really enjoyed our meal! And couldn’t stop eating.

Everything I had was amazing, especially the chicken nugget fried rice! So good! The only thing was the restaurant was a bit dirty, needed some wiping down. But food is amazing!

I really liked this place the few times I’ve been here. We tried their fried rice, deep fried oysters, and noodles. The portion is always generous and noodle reminded me the ones from 老山东 up the street in a good way. The service is decent, drinks are great!

Came here for the slush towers and karaōke. I always get the frog egg slush(???) the one with yogurt slush and then pearls and jellys. It’s great to share except that it’s like impossible to get the pearls. The rice dishes are ok, but the noodle dishes are really good. I really like soy sauce noodles and the amount of options makes me really happy. Overall really satisfied with this places, the karaōke selection does need some work though

I was here with one of my acquaintances because I heard about this place due to their giant bubble teas which they were known for. However, my mind did not feel like having any of those bubble teas because it was not feeling for a sugar rush at 6:00pm. So what did I order instead? I ordered the 3 cups chicken with rice as my dinner. Here is the verdict of the meal. They have me 1 large bowl of rice along with the chicken and the side dishes. 2 of the side dishes were vegetables and 1 of them was I believe was mushrooms. It tasted average, but it was better to have that to balance the meal especially when the meal was going to be all meat. The 3 cups chicken dish was basically chicken breast with ginger, garlic and basil. The smell of the basil was very strong and I think was one of the reasons why the dish smelled very fragrant. The thing about the dish which made it difficult was that some of the pieces of the meal was ginger and looking at the chicken itself, I could have ate a piece of ginger instead of a chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly as it was tender and juicy. The sauce itself was light yet it had flavor. Customer service was pretty straight forward. It was a busy crowd, but no one was stressed out because everything seemed to be under control which was a good thing. Would I come back here again? If I were to get a giant bubble tea drink and yes definitely. For food? Maybe.

Food is bland with no flavor and their bubble tea is watered down in flavour too with the extra ice they must add to make it as big as it is. Good for the photo op but that’s about it. It is a large portion of food though so if you don’t care about the quality of your food but want something with a large quantity, this is your place to go to.

If you want good food, you should check out this restaurant. The chicken nuggets friend rice is simply amazing. Top it off with deep fried squid tentales or japanese oden in miso, it makes one great food experience. They also have a wide selection of bubble teas and slushes to finish off the meal.

The One is known for their gigantic bubble tea drinks, but unfortunately that was the only positive thing we can say. We ordered two bubble tea drinks, which were huge but the bubble tea isn’t that great. We also ordered the deep fried squid and fried rice. The squid was okay, nothing special, and the fried rice was not good at all; very salty and heavy. We couldn’t finish the bubble tea so we asked them to pack it up, and the amount we took home was much less than what we had left. Prices are okay, but service is terrible. We won’t be back.

My girl came here to eat with her mom to grab a bite and a drink. She usually gets the chicken fried rice and never disappointed her. But this time she ordered the sliced porkchop w/garlic sauce. It was disgusting… DISGUSTING. It was super bland and it came with horse radish which she thought was the garlic, but nope. That was gross too. She also ordered the GREEN matcha milk tea… but that shit came out yellow af, and it tastes like perfume. Wtf mate. The workers noticed she didn’t touch it, she told them she didn’t like it and didn’t even bother to offer her anything. Terrible customer service. So she tipped a dollar and were wondering why. FOROBVIOUSREASONS. TF.

Towering slush bubble tea drinks — WOOT! My group tried the Mango, Strawberry, taro and a couple of others, they were same quality of taste as other places I’ve tried but this one differs from others as it was huge. The Food The One Seafood hot pot was flavorful, we also ordered breaded pork and usually the kids would finished the breaded pork first so I was surprised it was the only food left on the table until I tasted it and had no taste what-so-ever, maybe the cook forgot to salt it? the rice was pretty good, but I think it had some MSG on it… the chowmein wasn’t that bad.

Service: Wow the people working there need to learn some English… I ask if they have a menu with«beef marinated with sweet sauce» — is this impossible to understand? They could just tell me if they don’t have it, but instead they go «ma. marinate? marinated? sweet? sauce?» My gosh and THEY look at me as if I’m the weirdo. I’ve worked at a restaurant before and at least I UNDERSTAND what the customers want, regardless of how absurd it might seem. I would have went«sweet sauce, do you mean XYZ sauce?» or «we only have soy sauce» or SOMETHING to that point. Food: The kungpao chicken noodles are probably the BEST thing ever, but the other menus? No… Personally I would come back JUST for the kungpao chicken noodles and nothing else. Bubble teas, when ordering slushed, come as if it’s just ground ice with drops of flavouring, toward the end you feel like drinking just cold water. I can’t recall my take-out order exactly, but their beef slices(literally 8 puny slices) were around $ 7, absolutely ridiculous for the portion and the taste, their«house special» noodles were underseasoned and barely had any sauce — it felt like chewing gum after a while. Other: Parking is convenient, it’s located right next to the main street so it’s easy to find. Overall: Would not go, unless I’ll have the kungpao chicken noodles. Here’s a suggestion, why don’t you guys just focus on that and make THAT your house special?

I used to go to this place, but not anymore. Food is too oily and sometimes all the food taste the same, you know that taste when oil is being re-used? I can’t be sure but they may still be using MSG which leaves an after taste, I always have to drink a lot of tea to neutralize it. I think this place is a bit overrated.

I honestly have a love/hate relationship with this place. I’ve been going to The One for a few years now and it’s quite often a hit or miss. More often a miss as I find that I have been ripped off a few times. The food is often quite greasy and hardly ever more than just«warm». And though I love junk food form here and the portions are quite large, I only come back here since it’s open quite late and a good hang out with friends. I experimented with how they package bubble tea if I couldn’t finish it. I usually order a large honey green milk tea with pearls and what I have noticed is that I almost never get my money’s worth. For all the times that I have visited, I’ve purposefully left a certain amount to see how much I would receive back in the take out cup and I could not believe how many times I’ve only taken about five sips only to have a small cup brought back to me. A large bubble tea(which is really considered regular for most places) that costs an unreasonable $ 6 that I had a few sips of came in a small sippy cup rather than the full sized cup. Their shaved ice is probably the worst thing I’ve ever had. Perhaps I’m just more inclined to like shaved with some actual flavour to it, such as drizzled with some syrup or the shaved ice that I can get in Hong Kong that comes in shaved fluffy«slices», but what I had here was basically tap water ice with five strawberries and a drizzle of condensed milk. And for the price? Not worth it at all. But The One is a good place to come to with friends who want to enjoy a late night bubble tea and their slushes are pretty cool as the drink is basically towering over you. But otherwise the place is quite mediocre and overpriced. The service is okay depending on how busy they are but I also often can’t understand what the servers are asking as they assume I speak Mandarin.

The One Restaurant is known for its towering Bubble Tea drinks. This place resembles the atmosphere similar to that of Bubble World. Although I prefer Bubble World’s food and drinks, The One is a good place if you’re looking for more specialized variety of Taiwanese drinks and food due to its bigger menu. Whenever I visit this place, it’s a hit and miss. All the food and drinks that I’ve tried, I’ve preferred Bubble World. However my friends seem to like this place so I always end up here sometimes. It’s not that bad. It is also bigger than Bubble World. Very crowded at night and parking is very limited.

An awesome place to hangout with your friends during the weekend. My friends and I decided to eat here while we were vacationing in Vancouver and thought it was the best decision ever! So much so we went twice. The place was packed and had a bit of a wait time but it was totally worth it. The portions of some of the dishes are enough to feed at least three people and are affordable for how much they serve. Each dish never disappointed in taste. They were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The bubble teas were incredible! They’re not too sweet or have no taste at all, just perfect. One order is enough for two or three people at the most. I highly recommend this place for a night out with a good number of friends or family.

The cost of food is average. Ingredients is pretty good. Space can be tight in some places but spacious in others(e.g. the booths). Bbt is average but they do give you a little more than average for their slushes but those can cost from $ 5.50 to $ 6.25(fresh fruit ones). The rice dishes are best shared as the portions are huge and priced around $ 12. Their noodle bowls are over priced starting at $ 8.25(no meat) especially considering they are low on flavour and meat quality. Go for: the large portion fried rice dishes and some nice slushes. Don’t go for: shaved ice, above average food

Quantity over Quality. Not to say the quality is bad. it isn’t. it’s pretty good. if you put this in Seattle it’ll be excellent. but in Vancouver, in the land of glorious Asian food, the quality is just A-Ok. definitely tasty lunch. but the quantity is ginormous. you see the photos here. but basically you get wayyyyy more than you can possibly finish. I kinda wish you would reduce quality and up the quality of the ingredients/flavors a bit.

Have you ever had a giant one foot tall slush? Great eats here. Many many favourites to choose from. It’s easy to over order! Thank goodness for take out containers! Slightly over priced for what it is, but the food does taste yummy!

I haven’t return to The One for a long time. I went there for quick luck and thought time to write another update review. Their specialty high stacked bubble tea is watered down to have enough slush to make it tower off. But, I don’t like icy cold drink even though in summer time. Overall, the food quality went down but giant portion remain the same. My stomach can’t handle MSG food anymore.

The food is not good here but have to say the portions are huge. I have ordered fried rice here and it was huge with lots of rice that will feed 4 people. HOwever, its mostly rice. The drinks are huge no doubt as well. especially the shaved ice. But again, you are paying more than any other places. So is it worth it? Depends how you look at it. THe location is far off from Metrotown and Burnaby City Center. About 10 mins drive a way. Mostly Asian that comes here.
