Good god! This place typifies all that is wrong with mall coffee joints. The service is ok, but wow, the food is terrible. I tried a date and pecan loaf and it was as dry as desert. The taste and texture of a piece of foam… until I bit into a date pip, nearly shattering a tooth. The coffee was thin, bitter old dishwater served at about 300 degrees. There are many nicer options at West Lakes.

We were a bit cautious coming here due to average reviews, the service was a bit slow but we enjoyed our iced lattes. The coffee blend isn’t too bad and the flavour shots are not too sweet. The café is quite nicely decorated and comfortable. It is positioned right under a large decorative sky light, which gives a light and airy feel. Nice central location in the shopping center, great for people watching!

Service minus the smile and a few false sentiments — but they do make a delicious chai latte!

Guys and gals, let me start by saying I am not a coffee conisseur by any means. I drink instant coffee a lot of the time at home, and go by the rule that if it tastes good I’ll drink it. I had the worst coffee I’ve ever had in Adelaide right here. Burnt, too much milk, aaargh! I should add that I had to wait 20 minutes for it and that the waitress sloshed a third of it into the saucer when she plonked it down on the table rather hard. I had this with a ‘big breakfast” like meal which was way overpriced. Tiny serving and greasy food. This is nothing like the Noarlunga(Colonnades) outlet I’m afraid!

I’m a sucker for any place that reminds me of my childhood and that is the exact sensation I get from Jamaica Blue in West Lakes Westfield Mall. As I have mentoned in other Unilocal,I used to go shopping with my Mummy Dear often in my days of whispy blonde hair(pre gel and nude nut days) and bright eyed whimsy. My favouite stop was the Café in the old John Martins called Ericas. Jamaica Blue reminds me a lot of this place. Lots of wood, an elderly based cliental, the wall mounted bench seats, dividers which partially separate the shoppers from the ‘chosen few’ and the coffee. I felt like ordering an Iced Chocolate and some Raisin Toast(my old choice)…but I refrained and got a cappuccino to go. It may not make you step back in time like I did, but it is still a good coffee spot!
