Charlie Chan

Charlie Chan is probably the best place to find Asian Cuisine at the West Lakes Shopping Mall. The food always tastes fairly fresh and steamy hot. Tastes good! The sushi always sells out super fast which goes to show that it’s very good. Definitely my favourite place to buy sushi within West Lakes. They also have a separate sushi bar which is just a few stores down, and they always have plenty of fresh stock.
The meals are pretty expensive considering it’s a food court store. I would rather go to a restaurant if I’m going to be paying over $ 15 for a meal. Charlie Chan do give you a decent portion size and it’s tasty and fulfilling, but it’s just too expensive. The best time to buy food is near the end of the day when everything is super cheap (that sounds stingy doesn’t it? Oh well, you know it’s true!).

Charlie Chan is the better Asian Fusion option in the West Lakes Shopping Centre food court. The food from their bain marie comes out fresh and hot, and very tasty. They do a good pad thai with lots of chunks of pork, tofu, seafood, egg and shallots for $ 10.50. They’re rather expensive for Asian from a bain marie, but better quality for the same price as other options in this food court. Their grilled chicken with ginger and garlic is also a tasty option, and all their fried food avoids being stodgy, which is a definite plus.
They also do fresh stir fry made to order, but these go up to $ 17.90 if you want combination seafood, starting at $ 14.90 for chicken.
Service is fast and friendly, and the food quality is a step up from Spices next door.
