This is the second visit to this laid back café. This isn’t your average breakfast/brunch menu but that’s more reason to go! Along with the usual breakfast standards there’s also what seems to be European dishes. Lots of sausages of various types and something like a meatloaf which is amazing! Best of all you can get a drink from 11am! I’m yet to try the ‘hair of the dog’ but there’s always next time! The coffee on the other hand is good as is everything I’ve ordered and sampled. The staff are friendly and know what’s on the menu! Value for money, great food, cool staff and even better music!

A friend had raved about Redfern Continental so I insisted that my regular Thursday-night dinner friends try in. They don’t take reservations and we were lucky to grab the last table. The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff are super friendly and helpful, but we didn’t go for atmosphere and staff. Entrees were mussels, prawns and carpaccio. My friends were a little lukewarm to their seafood entrée. Me — I loved, loved, LOVED the carpaccio. It was absolutely brilliant. I could eat it by the bucketful. The mains were barramundi, weiner schnitzel and whole spatchcock. This time around me and my friend were lukewarm on the barra and schnitz. However, the spatchcock, according to the third in our party, was exceptional. We also had a side of brussel sprouts, and I ate one for the very first time in my life. They do not deserve their bad reputation. We had a great night, good food but, overall, not exceptional food. We would go again but at just under $ 200 for the three of us, it won’t be a regular haunt.

Overpriced, stale wine, terrible service. We were not greeted or seated, we were left to wait ages for service, not offered menus and essentially asked to guess at what they might have on offer. As it turns out, at 6pm all you can order is the meat plate which consists of few pieces of salami and prosciutto, the tiniest amount of gorgonzola and a few lavosh crackers — «all» for $ 25. Honestly, go to Eathouse where the food, booze and service are always great.
