Really nice food. Fair price. My wife and I ate well for $ 25. That’s because you pay for the food, not the ambience. I was also imoressed on how quickly the food arrived at the table after ordering, especially since there were 10 of us.

Despite the fact that I am an Asian. Indonesian food is as alien to me as… well. aliens(not exactly, but close). Nevertheless, I had to take my cousin for lunch somewhere we had never tried before and this made perfect sense since we were right next to a restaurant that was on my bookmarks list forever and one of those places that is so easily missed since it looks like any other shops in its proximate brethren. We had the Sate Ayam(grilled chicken), Iga Penyet +rice(beef ribs), Ikan Bumbu Penyet +rice(who Barramundi fish). The ribs were cooked perfectly, it was moist, flavoursome, perfect quantity of spices and rice. The Barramundi was also cooked to perfection. The most surprising part of this restaurant is how cheap the food was, which makes perfect sense for those price conscious and their main customers, university student while at the same time not being cheap(I hope you know what I mean). The most expensive thing that we had was the very underpriced«whole Barramundi» for less than $ 13. Enjoy. CHEAP But not in a cheap way.

–No fuss, clean and comfortable café/canteen style eatery. Order at the front counter, take a number to your table. All cutlery, napkins and water are self serve –Very popular with the nearby RMIT students –Delicious, cheap, authentic and full-flavoured food; really good beef rendang!

Bali Bagus translates to Good Bali in Indonesian. I had dinner here not long ago, I think it’s up there with the best Indonesian food here in Melbourne. I agree with other posts, the food is authentic, reasonably priced, taste wise its great. The cons for this place is Cash only establishment, serving wise its ok. I will come back to eat here, Melbourne needs more Indonesian restaurants and this one is up there on the list

Bali Bagus(Bali Very Good) is a great find. Tasty and simple Indonesian food. Maybe not a Valentine’s Day treat, but an excellent place for a quick bite with friends or the obligatory second dinner following drinks in the city. Expect to pay around $ 12 or less for a fairly substantial and authentic Indonesian meal and a drink. All of the popular Indo flavours are available here too. The Mi Goreng is a trusty staple and the rich Beef Rendang with anchovies and peanuts is a winner too. I’ve happy added Bali Bagus to my list of fav places for a quick city bite and am pleased to say it ranks just a little above its cheerful Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean counterparts. Bagus!

I know I’ve reviewed Bali Bagus before but, after eating there again, I feel the need to update(either that or the dementia has kicked in!). I know I’ve reviewed Bali Bagus before but, after — damn maybe the dementia… Seriously… I LOVETHISPLACE! I was meeting up with a bunch of friends for a pre-comedy-fest-feast and I was given the joy(sigh) of choosing the venue — oh lucky me! It was like I was apart of a bad joke… A sometimes vegetarian(make up your mind already!!!), a bogan«I only like lemon chicken and fried rice» and a foodie«hmm… how long has the beef aged?». Decided up Bali Bagus! I have eaten here many times and was confident(fingers crossed) my mates would too. And we all were! The menu is very extensive and you would be hard pressed not to find a dish you’ll love. I always order the beef ribs and they always are amazing. I had the Mei Gorang(the indo substitute of the aussie ‘parma’) which is all it should be. Silky noodles, melt in your mouth meat, crunchy vegetables and a fried egg. My mates loved the food too. Beef rendang was ordered all round(even the sometime vegetarian) and was over by all(and I did have food envy). While the food is great, the price is event better. All up we only spent just over $ 10 each — and that included drinks too!!!
