If you are craving or missing Malaysia food, this is the place to eat. I love the Char Kuey Teow. Definitely recommended.

If you’re looking for a quick and cheap malaysian meal then this place is it. Most of the dishes on the menu are quiet similar but they have a large variety of drinks. Price is cheap and it’s worth eating here if you’re on a budget

It’s quite crowded most of the time. However, service is pretty quick so you don’t have to wait for a long time after ordering. Water is free but you have to ask them to bring water for you. Quite expensive. Chicken and seafood laksa, curry chicken nasi lemak is good. I wish there is more coconut in the soup and rice. It’s not really spicy which is great for me. I also like crunchy eggplants in the laksa. Not a fan of char kuay teow. It’s not really special.

I was hoping for a little more from PappaRich — both in quality and portion size. I got the chicken and roti combo(CO6 I think…) but was disappointed to be served four small pieces of overcooked chicken. The curry sauce was nice enough but the roti was the highlight by far. The boy fared a bit better thanks to the mound of rice which came with his meal but the meat element was still on the smallish side. Dumplings to share didn’t leave an impression at all. I will venture back to try some other dishes as perhaps we just got them on a bad night? Two mains a starter were less than $ 30 though so I can’t complain too much.

Pretty decent Malaysian food with a VERY wide selection of dishes. According to some Malaysian friends, the Papparich here in Australia is better than the ones in Malaysia; they attributed this to better ingredients used here. The food… pretty good food, and definitely a good price for the area. The selection is extremely wide. I would recommend the chicken and I thought the noodles were pretty good. A friend had the chicken and rice, and it looked like a great option as well. The roti was also very good. The venue… if you get in early enough you get seated quickly(even with a large group). There are quite a few tables and it moves along quickly. However, I’ve seen a line build up here as well on the weekends. So plan ahead and be prepared for a wait. The service… was quick and efficient. You can mark your own dishes(which may save time), and the prep time was extremely quick. Just make sure you write down your own orders well. Overall… definitely something to consider if you’re in the mood for Asian food.

I was pretty keen to check this place out after a few Malaysian friends had said they really liked the food here. I like spicy full flavoured food and feel like this place was a little dumbed down. It was reasonably cheap, incredibly fast, had a fun ordering system where you write down what number each dish is and the staff are just there to get the job done. The vegetarian noodles were fine but would have been pretty bland without the hot sauce I added to it. The apple, orange and water Mellon«juice» all contain a sugar syrup so not fresh at all but they are brightly coloured and tasted sweet and nice. The stand out dish was definitely the egg roti. Nice and tasty and served with 3 side sauces(the chilli and satay ones were very nice). I would probably go to mamak over this place but for a cheap(ish) meal it was decent.

This is my go to place for Malaysian food. Prices are great and you can spend hours choosing from their drinks menu. Drinks from $ 3.70 to $ 5.90. Usually end up getting the same thing: Roti Telur with Curry Chicken($ 11.90) & always choose a different drink to accompany my meal. It’ll fill you up. Once I was adventurous enough to try the Pappa ABC Special for dessert, it’s ice topped with red bean, creamed corn, jelly and I don’t even know what else, it’s worth a try. They have extensive dishes to choose from, bread, snacks, satay, noodles, roti, rice, vegetarian dim sum, desserts, and an array of different drinks. Other locations include: QV Building in CBD, Chadstone, Doncaster, Glen Waverly, Nunawading, Northland

I have a friend that absolutely loves this place. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great. I think it might just be that the vegetarian options are shit. The place was crowded but the line didn’t take long. Drinks were overpriced, but the food was underpriced so it worked out. I probably wouldn’t go back here if given the choice.

Love this place. Great cure to sate my craving for some good and honest Indonesian/Malay food. Try to come early for dinner as the queue will get quite long after 7pm. But I assure you that it worths the wait. We actually came back and ate there three nights in a row!

I went to PappaRich for one reason: Nasi Lemak(with chicken curry). The nasi lemak was well done: the chicken curry and the chilli sambal were both richly flavoured. The chicken came with plenty of curry sauce, which is good to eat with the rice. I enjoyed the sambal enough to order more to go with my meal.(Unfortunately there’s a charge for extra sambal :()

There are always a lot of people at PappaRich. It’s quick, friendly and not too $$. I really like the laksa. I’ve been back a few times and keep ordering the same thing.

I love PappaRich! It was easy to get to, the food is good and the price is very acceptable especially when it comes close to pay day. PappaRich has a wide variety of Malaysian Delights. I think the food is great though I am not Malaysian and it seems like Malaysians visit this place too. PappaRich can get very busy so make sure you get there before or after the crowd as sometimes the lines go for a mile! The service here is efficient and all staff speak English! One think I find really cool is the way you order the food. The system works a bit differently where you write down the corresponding number of your dish and then press a button to summon a waiter! My favourites: Teh(Millk Tea) Anything with the STEAMEDCHICKEN I am also a sucker for the sambal eggplant

I am a roti canai fan. And I love chicken rice. PappaRich is pretty well my favourite place to grab a quick bite after work if I’m in the city. Busy, staff are swift and food is good. Go here, and have the ice coffee.

Papparich is a Malaysian chain restaurant that served south-east Asian food. Located in QV(prime location), this restaurant is popular with many of the students and people that live and work around the area. Do expect a long wait during peak periods, and please do not expect exceptional table service. I find it funny how people like to judge places by a dish(Ie. Hainanese Chicken Rice). Some restaurants are just better at making some things than other restaurants are. That being said, I really do enjoy anything with Hainanese Chicken in it, and Papparich nails it. Get anything that has Chicken(Noodles /Rice /Congee) in it, I promise it will be a decision you won’t regret. Other favorites of mine include Roti and Nasi Briyani. Come with reasonable expectations, and leave filled with delicious Malaysian food that won’t put a dent in your wallet.

Generally if I am at a place such as this you can judge their food quality by the basics — for example hainanese chicken rice(wish is my fave!). So I ordered this dish however was rather dissapointed. The chicken did not have the usual amazing silky texture it was more dry … just dry. The soup was also not good — was kind of msg/maggi style. The rice was average… I managed to finish it but I will not be recommending Hainanese Chicken Rice from PappaRich.

I had my first dinner in Melbourne here and it was a good experience! The food was delicious, the roti was the best I’ve had… possibly because it came with three different dipping sauces. Their noodle soups are good too, everything was really flavorful. Try their blended drinks and desserts!

5 stars for their roti. Just the plain roti. So soft, lightly sweet, chewy… gee. I’m still dreaming about it and kicking myself in the butt for not ordering more. Their satay sticks(chicken and beef) were also really good. But their laksa was only ok. And my drink was a soybean milk/pudding mystery, though I did drink it all(and it was pretty accurately described in their menu, I just wasn’t expecting egg pudding in my drink.)

PapaRich is an interesting place to eat, and on one hand, although I immensely enjoyed the food here, I am a little bit surprised that this chain of restaurants has been a success. I’ve been here for lunch three times now, and these are my thoughts: ~ It’s busy. At lunch time(and probably dinner too), expect to wait for a table. The most recent time I was here I was in a queue for about 10 minutes before we got a seat. It can also get pretty loud inside; however, because you’re not situated too close to any other tables, the noise is generally bearable and you don’t feel like anyone is listening in to your conversations. ~ The menu is pretty extensive. There is also a weird variety of foods. It certainly isn’t just Thai or Malaysian or anything else; instead, a diverse range of things to try here. Personally I highly recommend an entrée of the chicken skins. First time I have ever eaten chicken skins made in this way, but they’re so delicious and it has made me come back again and again. Horribly unhealthy though, I’d say. ~ Extensive menu of bubble teas and other Asian teas. Give the barley sugar with jelly a try, or perhaps the melon and lychee drink. Very delicious! ~ The menu is regular and as you would expect from a typical restaurant, but each item has a code, and you write this code on a piece of paper and then push a button on your table for your waiter to come and collect it. This puts the ownus back on you, and also ensures that there’s no communication error between you and your waiter during the ordering process. I also expect this helps speed up the whole thing to get people in & out more efficiently. A few places do this in Melbourne, but it’s not specifically mentioned to you and it’s easy to overlook the paper and doorbell-like button on your table. Overall I’ve had only good experience at PapaRich. The food is relatively fast to come out, in expensive, and of a high quality. The service and attitude of staff could probably be improved a bit, but in general PapaRich is a great place to eat at.

–Really busy during lunch, expect some wait times –Large & extensive menu; some great items, some bound to be not so good –Interesting but efficient ordering system — fill out a piece of paper with what you want, then push a doorbell button at your table to call a waiter over –Roti Canai was delicious, as was the hot and cold teh terik(traditional sweetened pulled milk tea)

I was pretty stoked to see this a new Malaysian restaurant crop up overnight in this prime QV location. On just their third night since opening, the place was jam packed with a fifteen minute wait for a table, so we popped down to Bread Top for a quick pre-dinner snack. We were seated within a couple of minutes of coming back at the perfect spot with a clear view of the counter adjoining the kitchen so we could see all the mouthwatering meals come out, but without being jostled or bumped into. Their ordering system, which was quickly explained to us, is fantastic. You’re given a form you fill out with the corresponding menu item number, quantity, and additional comments. There’s a separate section for ordering beverages. The only flaw, if I have to pick one, is that one of our mains came out first, followed by another main, followed by an appetizer, followed by our drinks. I wrote«after meal» in the comments section next to dessert, just to see what would happen. The dessert came last, but well before we were done with the rest, by which time it was no longer hot and had fallen apart a bit, but was still very good. For starters(or what was supposed to be our starter) we had hot, fresh roti with wonderfully moist curry chicken. There were some dipping sauces(the sweet-then-spicy tamarind sauce was a big hit with us), but unfortunately just one piece of roti. One more piece would have been perfect, but there was so much food already that we didn’t ask for more. The boyfriend’s wok-friend noodles with shrimp and cockles were gone in a flash. I opted for the vegetarian sweet and sour chicken with rice, which by no means passed for poultry, but was a more than adequate substitute all the same. My Ribena Melon drink was okay, but I wouldn’t order it again. The boyfriend’s Mango Mania was better. For dessert, we had what’s apparently called Tau Foo Fa King with Melaka sugar. We had originally ordered the same dessert with egg pudding, but they were out. It all kind of looked like pudding on the menu anyway, but turned out to be something else, and although we don’t know what it’s supposed to taste like, we were quite pleased. The only drawback, as mentioned, was that it was served so early that it had cooled down and maybe didn’t taste the way it was supposed to. Service was impeccable the whole way through. There were loads of wait staff about, and any one of them who happened to walk by when we needed something was more than happy to help. They even cleared our table with a smile, and when we got up to pay, the employee very genuinely(but needlessly) apologised for the lack of staff, and was practically ecstatic when we said that it had been wonderful. In all, PappaRich has definitely hit the ground running at QV. Great vibe, fresh food, and enthusiastic staff make me want to come back again soon.
