Dang that’s some good coffee! The other reviewers weren’t kidding. It was so refreshing to have a breakkie that I felt was priced fairly! $ 7 for two poached eggs, tomato and toast. Normally this would be doubled. I got some haloumi on the side and albeit a little salty super delish. This little super friendly café/deli is family owned, I’m assuming by some Turkish folks. You can take home a number of delicatessen including Turkish delights and bread. Saw a couple of locals that the really friendly smile cashier new by name and that makes me happy. Will pop in for a lunch time sammie sometime and maybe bring home some pastries or salads. Glad to have found a new favourite!

They do a mean coffee. No I’m serious, except the guy behind the counter smiles while he does it and asks how your day is going. So it’s not like they serve it to you mean. For a Friday mid-morning this place was filled with people with happy faces on, which means one of two things. They were either: 1. enjoying the food or 2. the coffee really is amaze. You might have to go and try it to believe me. I have this place bookmarked to go back for a feed at some point.

Surprise, surprise. Another café and delicatessen on Glebe Point Road… that’s called Glebe Deli Café. Don’t let the generic name make you think that the food is unimpressive or that the coffee is subpar. Both are actually quite good. This is a family restaurant that feels very local. At times, it’s so quiet, it’s like you’re a guest in someone’s living room. Everything here is sensibly priced, and portions are pretty good for what you pay. For breakfast, you need not even look at the menu since there’s everything you’d expect to find, from eggs, to toasts, to yogurt. There’s a ham and cheese croissant that’s I’d recommend. Or if you’re in the mood for something a bit more sweet, try the simply delicious wood-fired toast with ricotta. The Grinder’s coffee is brewed attentively; a cappuccino is around three bucks. Also, they sell homemade frozen foods like pastas and pies that are tasty and cheap. I pick these up and leave them in my freezer for when I have no time or interest in cooking dinner for myself.
