Firstly the sushi train was pretty good, with a decent selection. The gyoza was a highlight. However, the ramen was absolutely woeful… think instant noodles with a salty broth. The«urnie» in the kitchen probably hinted to the preparation technique used; boiling water, leave for 2 minutes. Rather than embarrassing yourself by serving instant noodles, remove it from the menu.

Well, it’s a sushi train. That’s mostly empty on a busy Sunday early afternoon in Fremantle. Service was fine — but there were only about 10 other folks in there. The sushi quality was on par with servo sushi /the prepackaged stuff at the low-end supermarkets. The prices though, they got those set up like the rest of freo! Avoid and hit Jaws in the city if you want some decent sushi train!

I walked into the Pink Rice restaurant and was greeted with the minimum amount of politeness before being taken to a seat on the sushi train. I then proceeded to wait 20 minutes before being able to place my order of chicken teriyaki. In this 20 minutes I decided to eat a few different varieties of sushi, every piece had the same dry and stale tasting rice. At this point I was obviously quite disappointed. However, I will give credit where credit is due, when the chicken teriyaki finally came out it was fresh and tasty. All in all my Pink Rice experience wasn’t a pleasant one and I doubt I would ever recommend it to anyone.

Boasting the biggest sushi train in WA isn’t a difficult feat due to the variety of very small sushi trains and western style sushi restaurants around. They do also have(just from my experience) have the freshest sushi and sashimi around. They also have an extensive menu offering noodles and tempura. I love a big bowl of udon noodles… mmm slurpy slurpy slurp and their noodles won’t leave a bad taste in your mouth just a fresh full belly. They also do tepantaki on Fridays and Saturdays, always a good night out and something different, out of teh way of the usual Italian restaurants in is BYOB so sit back and ejoy and let your wallet relax.
