There are quite a few Thai restaurants along Majors Bay Rd, so competition is fierce. For a Thai restaurant, prices at Thai Eatery are quite high. But the quality dishes, and friendly service justify paying that little bit extra. The restaurant is quite small, but almost always full, so obviously they are doing something right. I love Thai Eatery’s Pad See Ew and Green Curry, but my favourite has to be the Massaman Curry. I’m not usually a fan of massaman, but after trying a mouthful of my friend’s dish, I was hooked. The beef must be slow-cooked; because by the time it ends up on your plate, the healthy sized chunks are so tender they fall apart under the pressure of a chopstick. Thai Eatery’s downfall comes in the form of their plethora of stir-fries. Boiled rice, which is usually included for free with a stir-fry, is not included in the dish, but available for an added charge. Additionally, the dismal amount of vegetables in your stir-fry may leave you wishing you had chosen differently. Overall, Thai Eatery offers a pleasant culinary experience with a(relatively) high price tag. Avoid the stir-fry section, and you wont be disappointed.
