Blue Cheese is one of those things people love or hate. I am on the LOVE side of the spectrum. I could live on quince paste and blue cheese.
The Milawa cheese Shop on Nicholson street is a little slice of North East Victorias best produce. Milawa Cheese is famed for their Milawa Gold washed rind cheese as well as their wide selection of blues.
The store also stocks some of Milawa’s other well known produce including ‘Milawa Mustards’, olive oil, honey, preserves and a selection of Brown Brothers wine. This is the rich feel good nibbly food that makes life worth living. Imagine laying on a picnic rug, breaking off cheese and sipping red wine. Mmmmm.
The staff are super friendly and happy to provide a few samples and offer insight into the cheese making process and the varying subtleties of flavour. Prices for cheese start around $ 5 per 100 grams and go up from there. Mustards and preserve average around $ 8 and wines around $ 18.
