Ive been to most pizza specialist places in melbourne. Woodstock is in top 5 definately. The place is exactly out of italy. Not too much fuss. All about quality ingredients. Great people. A Must visit.

Authentic Italian. Friendly staff and great food! I have to say I usually just have the pizza when I visit so can’t comment too much on the other menu items. having said that I also love their calamari for entrée. Light batter, cooked perfectly! Very nice! Pizza is great wood fired! Not cheap but for a good night out you don’t kind paying for quality food and good service.

Started badly when we arrived at the Essendon location for our 8pm booking. Waited 10 min to be told they don’t make booking for less than 4 people. Given a table outside, waited 20 mins for menus. At that time told alcohol can only be served inside, up we get. Seated next to toilets and waited 30 mins to be served. Waited another 20 mins for our drinks and an hour for our food. Billed $ 65.00 for two draft beers and two very ordinary pizzas. Give it a big miss!

I would say their pizza is average. Their lunch deal is a bargain though.

I’ve only been to Woodstock a couple of times, and each time I’d had a few beers before hand, so take this review with a grain of salt. Great food. Decent sized serves and a good selection. The beer list is a little short, but I highly recommend the Doppio Malto Bionda. My Italian friend says that means Double Malt. Very nice drop. Friendly and attentive staff. The place gets pretty busy on a Thursday/Friday night. And yet the waiter always seemed to be there when we needed him. Not overly noisy(although, after a few of the Doppio’s it is probably hard to tell). Strange layout though, a little disconnected. Which I think adds some charm and a bit of privacy — probably better than a wide open expanse of tables everywhere. Worth a try if you’re on the strip in Brunswick East looking for some non pretentious pizza.

It’s risky opening a specialist wood fired pizza joint just down the street from a good one that already exists. It’s also risky asking someone if they’ve been stood up as they are waiting for five minutes for their dining companion(it’s also a really crap way to hit on a girl but that’s another story) It’s even riskier still to make a ‘pizza café’ this big and only put in one men’s toilet. This place works in a few of ways. The pizza is ok. We had the Woodstock and it was quite tasty. The involtini is really nice. It’s busy but not too noisy. It’s a nice fit out. The rooms, however, don’t work. They are so disjointed they don’t flow and the staff seem to enjoy blocking the passage between the bar and the kitchen so that patrons can’t get past. Not that they care or move when they see you. I would like to say that this place is great and that i really enjoyed it. I didn’t and it wasn’t even really because of the previously mentioned rude wait staff. There’s something a bit ‘je né sais quoi’(although not pleasing) about it, but I just didn’t get a good feeling being there. I may give it another try some time but for now i’ll stick with their competitor down the street.

Loved the food, the service, the Italian Messina beer — loved it. The pizza took me back to when I was Italy. Great job. Be sure to book, was packed when we went on a Friday night.
