Snaps Bar

I had a hard time choosing between three and four stars for this one. Because honestly, it varies.
Snaps is located on Medborgarplatsen and during the summer time it’s impossible to miss. It’s the place with the yellow umbrellas always bustling with life. When the sun is shining it can be nearly impossible to find a place to sit outside, but if you wait around for a while you can usually snag something.
I’ve had lunch here three times this summer. and my experiences have been rather different. The daily lunch (dagens lunch) usually costs 95 SEK, and in my opinion it’s totally worth it. That’s a normal price for lunch in central Stockholm, and you definitely get your money’s worth. In addition to whatever main dish you choose, they also have a salad bar with a few different types of lettuce, bean and paprika mix, corn, pineapple, a couple of kinds of dressing, and sinfully tasty buttered bread. Coffee and small biscuits are also included.
The one time I had pasta at Snaps, it was unfortunately very dry and chewy — way more than just al dente. But the two times I have eaten fish, everything was fantastic.
The salmon dish was some of the best I’ve had, and last time I was there I had plaice fillet with asparagus and rice and a lobster sauce. Plaice isn’t my favorite fish (salmon is!) but it was very delicious and filling, with a great combination of flavours.
Snaps is also a popular club, and I’ve had mixed experiences there as well — but generally quite good. The guards can be rather rude, but they do have multiple bars, lots of outdoor seating (in front and also down below), and several dance floors.
Is it one of Stockholm’s absolute best places? No. But it is still really great, really solid, and I’ve never had less than a three-​star experience here, and it’s frequently better! The location and atmosphere and food earn four stars from me.

Definitely one of the best places to hang for a lazy summer afternoon, drinks are good the atmosphere is superb and if the weather is great you’ve got yourself a winner for every occasion. Only problem is the cash only in the outdoor bar.

I came here (sort of) on a date. The place is in a great location, almost in front of the tunnelbana station, but I must say would be a better experience on Summer. I felt like I was inside a cheap British pub.
We didn’t have any food but the drinks were quite pricey and the service was not so great.
The area around Medisplatsen has so many bars, and the competition is so hard that if I had a bar around here I would make sure people had a great experience not just an OK one.
Not sure if I would come back, as it was not remarkably amazing, but maybe on Summer people have a different perspective.

The nice outdoor patio seating was probably the best part of the restaurant. The service was decent, but the place felt very touristy. It was my first night in Stockholm so of course i ordered the Swedish meatballs. My friend ordered the salmon. We both thought our dishes were too salty, even the side dishes had a lot of visible salt crystals in them. Maybe salty is normal for Swedish meal? Not sure. Very nice food presentation though. Probably would go back for a glass of wine and people watching, but I wouldn’t go back there for the food.

Snaps has one of the biggest outside areas in SoFO (Soho) in Stockholm, always sunny and you definitely have a lot to look at.
Many people go here for afterwork and its a typical summerbar where you always go for cheap drinks and chatting. Especially day time its packed– perfect for a drink or two in between shopping
Staff is not too friendly but it doesnt matter, you have really nice seats and hopefully a good time with your friends
