We visited oljebaren last night and found it to be fantastic ! We can not complain on anything. Food was great, when my wife decided to have the steak, I had to try the burger :-). And it was excellent, but when I saw her steak I still think I made the wrong choice. Anyway burger came with homemade coleslaw from red cabbage and homemade gurken. Bacon on the burger and an excellent sauce, you have the chance to spice it up with ketchup, also homemade. The accompaniment was fantastic country fries. But the steak(which I managed to steal a piece of from wife’s plate) was the type that makes people drooling after, man it was good. You get bread and olive oil while you are waiting we had also some jamon and olives, which was all very delicious. Thank you oljebaren for a very good meal, we’ll be back.

The burger was not amazing. I’ll answer the question everyone has about this restaurant. Unfortunately, I didn’t experience what everyone did with the food. The inside is very cozy with a pub-like atmosphere. You probably don’t need a reservation, as there is plenty of seating. Service was pretty slow; the drinks came out a little over 5 minutes after ordering and the food 20. [FOOD] Burger: The meat was cooked medium-done for me. I was so hoping it would be medium or medium-rare. The meat wasn’t all that juicy; it was rather dry actually. The fries were really heavy, and the slow was a little less than decent. The peppers were amazing though; so was the sauce, but those are very small parts of the entire dish. [OVERALL] The food wasn’t really bad, but a $ 20 burger is overkill. There are definitely better places to go to in Stockholm. I wouldn’t really recommended coming.

I had a really good burger here and will for sure try to get back next time I’m in Stockholm. It’s a very nice and cozy place with good beers and a fair variety of dishes to choose from. I can certainly recommend you to visit this place. When I came at around it was about half full so I could easily get a table. That wasn’t the case an hour later and that tells a lot about the popularity of the restaurant(although it might be more fair to call it a brasserie or bar+).

I have eaten dinner here three times. Two of those times were fantastic, the third time was good but the third was not as well cooked as the pervious times. Super cozy place, service is decent enough, definitely friendly and fun. I always get a side order of the fries, delicious. Good value as value and tasty wines.

It is a scientific fact that I can eat my body weight in burgers.** (** not real science) So when I found out the spot that Unilocal boasted had«the best» burgers in Stockholm was just a five minute walk from my airbnb? Glee. Pure glee. My visit was a short one and on this occasion, I didn’t have time to sit in for dinner, but the call to burgerdom was strong and so I headed in this direction hoping they did takeaway. First relevant fact: they do takeaway. Walking in the door, I was greeted by a very nice woman and told that yes, I could order the burger to devour at home. Woohoo! However, having seen the space, I was a little disappointed that I didn’t get to stay to eat. This room is right up my alley! Second relevant fact: this place is decorated like if a hipster and a lumberjack had a baby and that baby grew up to be rather posh and decided to open a restaurant. It’s a nice blend of comfort and polish. I would have happily stayed to eat there, especially because i’m sure they had some interesting craft beer in the mix(I can’t confirm this as I didn’t see the drinks menu). But alas, I was on a schedule so after ten minutes, I grabbed my takeaway, paid the lovaly gal at the counter and skipped back to my place. Third relevant fact: for a city that is SO expensive to drink alcohol in, Stockholm is doing it right with food portions. This meal was a great size! With two sides and a sizable burger it was well worth the price. Also, I tip the hat to whoever found these takeaway boxes, because it keeps the food hot and separate — no messy sauce disasters here! But the million dollar question: how was the burger? Fourth relevant fact: Stockholm you boast a darn fine burger… but it’s not taking the«best» trophy quite yet. Ok, so don’t get me wrong — this is a GREAT burger! The pattie is sizable, well seasoned and well cooked(god bless you people who understand medium rare burgers!) and I very happily devoured the whole thing but I found the bun a little lacking on this. For burger with so much oophm, I would have liked a heartier bun. So it doesn’t take my top burger honours but if I lived in the city, I would definitely make the trip for it and if I’m staying in the area again, i’d be back here with bells on!

Went here with two friends for lunch on a Thursday to try the renowned 198SEK lunch burger. We were afraid it would Be packed so we arrived 11:30 but it was surprisingly calm in terms of traffic and noise. Nice French bistro inspired room, charmingly worn down, with spherical lights hanging down from a tall ceiling. The burger with fries, coleslaw and salad was presented very nicely on a rough wooden tray. The patty was cooked perfectly medium rare and the fries — although not generous in numbers — were crispy(double fried?) and delicious. Oh, and don’t miss the mayo hiding under the salad — I guess it’s for dipping the fries! A little expensive but a very, very nice burger experience!

I have been to oljebaren three times already for lunch and i enjoyed it all three times! The restaurant is very nicely decorated eith wooden tables and benches and a nice bar space. The upper floor also is very nice and gives a unique armosphere to the place. The staff is very friendly and really helpful. They answered all my questions regardig their food! They have a small menu bit everything is well cooked. I have tried the grilled chicken dish they have. The chicken is perfectly cooked and juicy, the sallad is fresh and their dressing is delicious. Their burger with their triple fried fries is amazing. The meat is well cooked, the dressing is unbelievable but the fries is mu favorite thing on this dish! Also the salmo dish is very tasty according to my friends but i have not tried it yet since i went for the burger the third i went there i could not resist. I also applaude their effort with the olive oil appetiser, but being originally from greece myself i think they shoul try a higher quality olive oil if they want to be so ething to be remembered. Finally although it stands on the pricey end,(190 for the burger) I recommend this place for lunch!

Stockholm is the city of food trends and there is nothing more trendy than a good burger. To be honest, getting hyped about a burger is a bit passé, but I don’t believe it will ever really go out of fashion. If you want to get a yummy burger in Stockholm, there are several good places, Oljebaren being one of the traditional ones. This gastro pub will however close it’s doors in November, so you should hurry to have a bite before it is too late. Oljebaren is located in the heart of Vasastan close to the St. Eriksplan station. The front of the bar does not demand much attention, but when peaking in it invites to stay. The restaurant has a spacious ground floor(cramped with tables) and a small upstairs. There is a long bar with seating, so one can also enjoy a dinner with a view over the action. Even on a Monday the bar was fully packed with people. The ambiance is cozy and gives a home-kitchen kind of feel. We were a party of three with a pushchair and the staff really made a great effort to cramp up in with all of our bearings. I must say the helpful attitude made a good impression on me and is the reason for the forth star in my review. The wine list was actually quite interesting, even though I would have assumed that this is more of a beer place. They had a cava by the glass, Pere Ventura Primer Brut Reserva, for 85SEK. The taste was fresh with green apple, citrus and orange blossoms. Good value for money I would say. The other bubbly by the glass was the Drappier Carte d’Or for 99SEK. I really like the style of the house of Drappier so this is, to my opinion, a steal for champagne in Stockholm. The burger was, well, fantastic! The beef was perfectly medium rare, the home-baked bread soft and all other fillings(like the sauce and Gryerge-cheese) fresh and of high quality. The burger came with lovely sides of crunchy fries and fresh coleslaw. No party tricks or glamour, just an honest traditional burger. As a companion to the burger we ordered beer. The list was good as is normal in Stockholm(the Swedes like their Micro-brewery beer) and we ended up ordering some Dugges Saison and Brew Dog IPA’s. It is a shame this place will close, but luckily there are many other burger places in town. I however recommend to visit while you still have the chance.

I had not been here in ages when I heard from nice friends on Unilocal that they are actually closing this year so decided to head back. The burger is by many seen as the best in Stockholm and while I recalled it was not bad I did not recall finding that good. We came on a Tuesday evening and were glad we had booked as the place was packed. The staff were also really accommodating to some wishes for specific tables. Broswing the list of drinks I was impressed by both the good wine and beer list. Nice cava from Pere Ventura for 85SEK a glass as well as Drappier for less than 100SEK so nice prices as well. The beers were a nice range of both local and some international ones and also decently prized. We of course all opted for the burger, they checked how we wanted them(medium rare of course) and we were extremely pleased when they arrived just as they were ordered. It is a very good burger but for almost 200SEK it better be. I do not see it as good enough to be the best in town and I would perhaps not return just for the burger. I am actually more likely to stop by for a glass of wine or a beer and the great service and cozy atmosphere.

I usually give 4 stars to places with super staff. I love the staff here! But the food was mediocre and the place noisy. One hamburger and two beer = 350 sek. Pretty normal but nonetheless a hefty amount. So 3 stars. Gold star for having rubharb pie.

Supergod Hamburgare, trevlig personal, bra ölutbud. Det enda negativa var dillen i coleslawen och att portionen gärna hade fått vara lite större.

This is definitely a great place to go for a lovely dinner in Stockholm, the restaurant is very cosy, the service is friendly and the food is great and not overpriced. As the name suggests you can also go for an olive oil tasting with wine and just so you know the caramelized apple and vanilla sauce dessert tasted absolutely delicious!

Thought: It’s a bit of a bummer that when a place in Sweden finally decides on a consistent interior décor, some go-to menu items and puts a little extra thought into their beer selection, it will by default receive at least 4 stars. But nevertheless, here we are. Yup, it has a really nice neighborhood vibe to it. There’s a burger on the menu, and it’s better than most other burgers being served around town. There’s also a few«let’s honor the entire animal» things on the menu, if you’re into that. Oh, guys, the service is great! Yea, they are doing it! I’m so very happy for them, just because of this. Attentive, nice, and service minded, all wrapped into one fantastic waiting staff. Keywords: Great space and service, and decisive décor. Go there and spend silly amounts of money on burgers and beer, and tell yourself you’re paying for the atmosphere, because your dining area in your apartment doesn’t look like that. Or maybe it does.

I went here to discover one universal truth: is their burger better than flippin’s as so many have claimed? The simple answer is no, it’s not. I wouldn’t even say it’s close, but I really liked the look and feel of the restaurant and would love to come back for something else. But first, the burger: More high quality meat, grass fed, from Gotland. Oljebaren buys half a cow from their farm supplier a week and prepares the meat themselves. In fact just about everything is as close to hand made as possible here, even the ketchup. But the burger is cooked in a char-grilled style that gives it a taste I really don’t prefer. It reminds me of a typical BBQ burger from your buddies backyard, which is a shame because the meat should be very high quality and I think the char taste overpowers all else. At least for me. The inside is very pink, fine for such good quality meat. But to be honest, the more of the burger I ate, the less satisfied by it I was. The good news is that this isn’t your typical style for a restaurant burger so there may be some out there that prefer this and for those, this place will be unique. But no, taste wise, flippin is far ahead, for me. The fries were really nice, high quality. As was the mayo sauce, homemade ketchup and cole slaw. But it’s also pricey at 195kr and as a burger experience I think you get less than at other places. I also felt really heavy at the end of the meal. They describe themselves as a Mediterranean gastro pub and this matches the way I’ve felt when leaving other«gastro pubs». But the restaurant itself is small, cozy, comfortable. The staff was friendly and happy to explain a bit about themselves and the menu had plenty of items that looked worth trying. I think it’s a really nice place, with high quality ingredients(they focus on what is in season and locally available, adapting their menu to fit that) and really fresh, homemade preparation. I just recommend that you let the burger hype pass you by and try something else. Definitely recommended!

In the pursuit of the best burger in town I think I found the one! Oljebaren is a small resturant that looks like a regular pub, If you have walked by you would probably just pass by and missed it! The inside is nicely decorated with old brik walls and nice a stirdy wooden details! They also have a small extra floor that gives the restaurant another dimension! The meny is pretty simple with a few dishes to choice from and a good beer selection! We had heard abit about the burgers here so we all took one! To tease your hunger you get bread and olive oil which I think is simply perfect to start with! The burger had simgus meat on it which was so tender and juicy, with fluffy homemade bread and crispy bacon! With tasty Gruyère cheese and their very own dressing. You also get fries with dip and coleslaw, the fries are incrediable with a good mix of salt and sweet! The service is good and the personal are funny and personal! I can tell you that I was pretty pleased when I left the restaurant and I strongly recommend you to try it!

Although my search for the perfect burger in Stockholm been on hold for awhile, i havent forgot about it. Next stop was about to get real and expectations were of course as always. HIGH! I dont know the history about their name, but its a very unique and cozy venue with a lot of wooden elements. Menu is handy and they have a lot of interesting beverages. They also have a few interesting starters that you can share, but for this time, i had to save space for the burger. The burger is one choice, and one choice only. But there is nothing to be intimidated of, since its satisfactory to most ppl. Burger is served on a wooden plate with cole slow, fries and some home made mayo. At first sight you might think its a small burger, but when you are finished, you will probably think its just about the right amount with the sides. Patty is pink inside which contribute to a juicy burger with lots of flavor. To sum it up, this was by so far, the best burger i had in Stockholm. Combined with accurate and friendly service, it cannot be anything else than a bomb!

I came here for lunch on Friday and was happily surprised to find out Friday was free chocolate truffle with tea or coffee day! My sister ordered the burger and I had the chicken with potatoes. The burger was super juicy and delicious and the chicken and potatoes were great as well. Everything was pretty reasonably priced and English menus were available upon request. Diner’s Club or Discover was also accepted which I was happy about because there are no international transaction fees. Service was great and friendly and I would definitely return!

I had remembered my search on Unilocal for the best rated burger when I was walking around Sankt Eriksplan with a friend yesterday. I’m super glad that I did!!! I used the little map on the Unilocal app to find this place(which is super cute BTW). Is it the best? I don’t know, but sure I liked it a hell of a lot! Before last night I used to think that Flipping burgers was pretty darn good. I think I like Oljebaren’s burger much better! If you follow my posts you can probably guess that i’ve caught on to the burger craze that’s going on lately. I’m normally not such a big meat eater, but for this place I might have to convert to being a full time carnivore! Everything on this burger was perfection! The bun, the toppings, the cheese and the smokey meat were the perfect combination of flavors. There was so much flavor I still can’t get over it!!! Kinda gross… but I woke up this morning wanting another one today! LOL! Not exactly a breakfast food. =/ I feel like I have to give their fries a shout out! They were homemade and I suspect fried in peanut oil? Well… whatever they were fried in made them super delicious! I keep complaining about restaurants who buy those crappy frozen french fries that taste like cardboard. Here, was so not the case! They managed to be both soft, crispy and flavorful at the same time. AWESOMENESS! The only thing I think could use a little work is their sauces. The homemade fry sauce and ketchup were not as tasty as I would have expected. The ketchup was spicy and watery while the fry sauce was kind of bland. If they had changed those two things… I would never have left the place! SUMMARY: YUM-TASTIC! =)

Loved, loved, loved the burgers here. They were juicy, perfectly cooked and had unique touches like house-made rolls and bacon. The hand cut fries were crispy and paired nicely with the house-made ketchup. The coleslaw was also lovely and light as was the radicchio salad, which both accompanied the burger. The wine an beer selection were also nice. Definitely the place to go go if you are craving a big, meaty burger in Stockholm.

Awesome burger! The venue lacked AC during the hottest summer days which is an indication of bad climate control. Anyway worth it to eat the burger at least once!
