Max. Max, Max. You are difficult to rate. Do I rate you next to McDonald’s and Burger King exclusively? Even if I throw in the French chain Quick into the equation, you beat them easily. You’re no KFC mind, but you are pretty good. Or do I rate you against the latest crop of gourmet burger places, in which case you probably don’t even score except on value for money. That Max can even be mentioned in comparison with the big guns shows how much better it is than the usual fast food chains. The stuff people have said in other reviews is all true, it just depends on your perspective. So… Go here if you like fast food but want to try something more local. Go here if you like the novelty idea of using a Swedish language kiosk to order your meal. Go here if you like milkshakes or fries. Go here if it’s 3am and the only other place that’s open is the McDonald’s across the road. Don’t go here if you’re the type of food snob who goes into a fast food chain expecting to find top quality restaurant style food that would normally cost 4 or 5 times the price.

Max was the only fast food I tried while in Sweden and I have to admit it is comparable to the states In-n-Out. I ordered a «low carb» burger, usually referred to as a protein burger with no bun, and you can definitely taste the quality in the meat unlike other generic fast food burgers.

In case you don’t know it, Max is a Swedish fast food chain. But don’t get confused, they are by far superior than Burger King and McDonald’s. Burgers are bigger than regular McDonald’s, even their frites are better(and frites are the things I like the most from Macdo) and they don’t certainly look as artificial as Big M’s. If you are visiting Sweden and you like fast food this is an obliged stop, they have several signature burgers that you should try as well as the milkshakes. Verdict: Will I go again? Oh yes! Will I recommend this place? Sure, even more to people visiting the country, to show them how a fast food chain should actually be. What about the price? Within the price range of typical American fast food chains.

If you know how good burgers are made, avoid this place. If you are up for McDonald’s type of junk food, give it a try. Though there still are better fast food places out there.

Also ich mag Max Burger. Schmeckt meilenweit besser als was man in Deutschland so kennt.

On the scale of fast food chains, this place wins worldwide, hands down, easily. There is simply no company as committed to ethics, with as much taste, with as much locally sourced meat. Sweden has one of the best farming systems in the world in terms of treatment of animals and all of the beef, chicken and bacon at Max is from Sweden. The vegetables are sourced from Sweden, Denmark, and Holland. Sure, I’m just spewing this from their website, but I like Max so much I have actually *been* to their website to read about their company. They also create some fantastic youtube commercials(okay, I’m definitely drinking the cool aid). Things I’ve learned about Max: –The friscomål is worth the 8 kr upgrade over the originalmål –You will wait FOREVER if you go here after 3am on a Fri/Sat night –You will wait FOREVER if you are used to the speed of other fast food chains we won’t name –Do NOT make your friends wait for you outside while you order Max(see above) –You will get a freshly cooked burger that looks like a burger –You will get a bun that doesn’t taste like re-hydrated cardboard –You should substitute your fountain drink for a small milkshake or ramlösa –Don’t let Swedes convince you to go to McDonalds over Max. Ever!

Since I was visiting Sweden for the first time and I saw Max all over the place, I decided to give it a try. We shared a small burger, mozzarella sticks, and a vanilla shake. Everything was pretty cheap and I loved the assortment of the dipping sauces they had there(tried the honey curry and it was interesting!) Unfortunately the flavors were all a bit dull though and even though McDees was way more expensive, it beats Max in taste. Worth a try once though!

«been winning Swedish hearts since 1968.» No GMO, no trans fats, no antibiotics, no growth hormones… practically the In-N-Out of Scandinavia. Except no animal style and bacon makes an appearance on the menu.

When you’re after fast food in Sweden, there is only one place to go: Max. This Max branch is located in central Stockholm just by Kungsträdgården( ), a popular meeting place and a nice location anyway. The food is simply miles better than at its competitors. This time I went for the chicken nuggets with hot creole sauce, which reminded me a bit of Notting Hill carnival. It just tasted better than there.
